Oh, it's really not that bad. The media build everything up so that they have something to talk about. Would you ever want to go to New York City with all their muggers and murderers?
Arkansas has hillbillies. But it's also a really great state. One of the most beautiful and peaceful to live in. It's actually quite clean here, and the cost of living is rather low. That doesn't mean everyone and everything is poor either. In Little Rock (state capitol) we have three Fortune 500 companies that I can think of right off hand. In my hometown there are housing being built right now that cost upwards of half a million dollars, and one that's been around a while that was probably well over a million (looks like a freaking golf course club house).
We just have a smaller population that most, and catch bad representation due to the "hillbilly" nature of the settlers who first came here.
