Having trouble getting the gold in the F3 car. I've watched some youtube videos and tried following the suggestions but I just can't do it. Any suggestions these videos may not have covered?

I finally got gold when I turned all driving aids off except ABS 1 and TCS 1. It took a few goes to get the flow of the car but it carried a lot more speed with reduced driving aids through the corners.

I should try that then. It seems as if I'm getting the maximum out of the car with the aids on. I've just never bothered to turn them off. I have about one second to make up for the gold time. Plus I only have the DS3. Everyone says the wheel is a lot easier to drive with.

I only use DS3 and I thought it was my driving that was stopping me from getting gold. I realised that when I turned the aids off, it made the job a lot easier.

I bet the two Lotus challenges are a nightmare with aids off huh? Lol! I managed silver on those two with them on.

Try to be as smooth as possible, you can carry more speed than you realise.
I also use DS3 and for me I turn of the aids gradually so the change is not too drastic, i.e. turn traction control from 5 to 3 have a drive then 3 to 1 etc, this works for me.
Hope it helps, keep trying you'll get there.

Thanks man. I'll give it a go.

Senna events are big payouts, especially the 97T. IMO, only do it when you reach again 200%... I believe BHatch pays 2.2mil with 200%... :)
Thats the one I still have to get gold in. I have gold in every other Ayrton event but Brands Hatch. It is quite hard. :)

Yeah, tell me about... It took me like 300 times to do it! :p

I believe I got gold with CSS-5, AS-Mild... I can´t remember, but I think I never used TC... And has the 97T has huge downforce, you have to use it to push it to the limit...

EDIT: If AS mild is not enough, try strong... Damn, I honestly can´t remember the settings... :grumpy:

So I'm wondering, does turning the tc off help the hige turbo lag on the lotus? Going around the hairpin at Brands Hatch in 2nd gear it seems it will never accelerate out of it.

With the turbo lag you have to judge when the power comes in, just as in real life with these cars you have to use the power before you think you do.
In the hairpin brake early then bring the power on straight away, if you judge it right the power should come in just as you reach or after the apex. This worked for me but needed plenty of practise.

The lag is there, you cant escape it... All you can do is try to fight it...

TC controls it, but it slows the car, imo...

So what is y'alls favorite car in GT6? Mine is the avatar I just put. :) I need to find a smaller picture so it will fit.

My biggest problem with this event was the sore thumbs i get after hours of racing round brands hatch. It wasnt made for the DS3 user that still uses X and O buttons....

Try using RA functions. If you program controls for the menu, you can use it to adjust brake balance and find a setting that helps you rotate the chassis better for a particular corner. I seem to recall using something like 3 front 7 rear for the F3 and 4/7 for the F1.

Sorry, what's the RA function?

Sorry, what's the RA function?
An abbreviated tuning/settings menu that allows you to access TCS (when permitted), ASM (when permitted), 4wd torque split (when installed), ABS and brake balance (when permitted). In this case it would allow you to adjust brake balance when there is no proper tuning menu available.

For the RA Buttons, I use "select" to bring up the menu, and the d-pad for navigation 👍
Oh I think I get it. Is it a way to adjust sort of hkw much gas or brake you get from how much you push the buttons while racing? I've just recently noticed that you can sort of hold the x button a little to get about half the throttle.

If you have a DFGT wheel the RA functions are available on the RA dial as you drive another reason not to use a controller. I got my 97T last night after 2 nights of sessioning you just have to put in the work. The best advice I can give is smooth and slower is faster and slowly try to go as fast as you effin dare without totally ballsing it up, I couldn't beleive how fast I was getting in the first section and was Ok in the mid sector too! I was carrying too much speed in the last 2 corners before the start stop straight and nearly lost it spinning a bit and having to ease off to straighten up losing precious seconds but still getting silver - boooosh! Gold's not that hard - you just have to be on it like a car bonnet! ABS 1 TCS 0 -2 If you over rev it in 3rd gear and the wheels spin you lose a second second and a half so be gentle with the throttle out of the corners - thats where pedals jhave the advantage.

I found the Brands Hatch with 97T to be the most difficult event in the game to gold with DS3. I tried with different TC values, first TC1 but found the car a bit hard to handle in corner exit. TC3 brought me within 1 second of gold time. And finally turning AS to strong (with TC2) did the trick. Even then it took about 100-200 attempts to finally nail every corner. If you decide to go with no aids, you really should pay attention to your acceleration. The Lotus will bite you instantly if you are careless. Another key factor is the driving line you take, go for smooth, round cornering. The car also has unbelievable amount of downforce at high speed, you can drive without braking at surprising places. Good luck, it is very possible to gold the events with DS3, but it will require a bit different approach than the rest of the races.

Set ABS to 1 and turn all aids off. After a few tries you should be able to get gold, if not you're gonna have trouble with the 97T.

When the RA menu is permitted (it isn't online), it allows you to adjust the intensity of traction control (0 to 10, unless traction control isn't permitted at all--only online as far as I've seen but you can't make these adjustments online anyway), it allows you to switch ASM from enabled to disabled and back (unless ASM isn't permitted--only online as far as I've seen but you can't make these adjustments online anyway), it allows you to adjust the torque distribution of 4WD cars when the adjustable center differential is purchased or on some cars as they come from the dealership (except online), you can adjust the intensity of ABS (from 0 to 10, unless ABS isn't permitted at all--only online as far as I've seen but you can't make these adjustments online anyway), and finally--this is where it's useful in this event--you can adjust brake pressure from 0 to 10 front and from 0 to 10 rear (except online, on license tests, and seasonal events where a loaner car is provided and cannot be tuned in any way).

Oh and if you're using buttons to control your car, you're going to find it very difficult to become competitive and/or accomplish certain tasks. It's not impossible, I just recently found out someone I know uses them and I was absolutely flabbergasted because he's dang fast--but he explained he's done it that way for quite some time, since GT4 if I recall correctly--though it's fair to say he's probably in a minority.
