I decided that it was time to try an exotic, so I head off to the Dealerships and place an order for a Oullim Motors Spirra Prototype '04.

Two weeks later a delivery truck drops the Spirra off at my pit-crew's garage so they can start working on the Spirra and perform some of their tuning magic.:)

Two more weeks pass and then I get a call from my chief mechanic that the Spirra is ready and would I like to take it for test drive? I say YES! and fly off to the Ascari Resort track. My brand new Spirra has the following spec's:

PPvalue: 490
Horsepower: 317
Weight: 1090
P.Limiter: 99.5%
Tires: sport hard
SRF: Off

Sitting on the grid at the Ascari track are the following:
----------------------------------------------------------
1. Bugatti Veyron '09
2. McLaren MP4-12C
3. Aventador LP700
4. Aston One-77
5. Murcielago LP670
6. Chevy Corvette ZR1
7. Ford GT '06
8. Alfa TZ3 Stradale
9. Diablo GT '00
10. Cizeta V16T '94
11. Lexus LFA '10
12. Audi R8 5.2 quattro
13. Corvette Stingray '14
14. Ferrari California '08
15. V12 Vantage '10
16. my Spirra

Race # 1:
-----------
I crash out going thru the Screw on the first lap.

Race # 2:
-----------
I crash out going thru Bathurst on the first lap.

Race # 3:
-----------
I crash out going thru the Brundle kink on the first lap.

Race # 4:
-----------
I crash out going thru Sebring on the first lap.

Race # 5:
------------
At the end of lap # 1, I'm in 14th place, 14.8 seconds behind the race leader.
At the end of lap # 2, I'm in 10th place, 17.3 seconds behind the race leader.
I crash out going thru the Rafael chicane at the beginning of lap # 3.

Race # 8:
-----------
I crash out at the end of lap # 5, when I tangle with the Chevy Corvette ZR1(see my post#30 above).

Race # 10:
------------
On lap # 1, I pass the 14th place Ferrari California just after the Brundle kink on the back-straight, and end the lap 15.6 seconds behind the race leader.

On lap # 2, I take over 10th place in the race when the Cizeta V16T takes out the Audi R8 quattro as they exit Oulton. At the end of the lap, I'n only 14.1 seconds behind the race leading Bugatti Veyron.

On lap # 3, I pass the 7th place Lambo Diablo GT by drifting past him as we go thru Laguna and I end the lap only 11.1 seconds behind the race leading Bugatti Veyron.

On lap # 4, I pass the 3rd place Chevy Corvette ZR1 going thru the Gachot hairpin and end the lap only 8.0 seconds behind the race leading McLaren MP4-12C, who has taken over the race lead when the Bugatti Veyron pitted at the end of the lap.

Lap # 5 is a bit ragged, so I gain very little time on the 1st place McLaren and end the lap 7.3 seconds behind him.

Lap # 6 is pretty ragged as well. I guess my tires are starting to show their age. At the end of the lap I enter the pits for a new set of SH tires and 2 liters of fuel. I'm about 5 seconds behind the race leading McLaren who slowed on lap # 5 as well and entered the pits in front of me.

I beat the McLaren MP4 out of the pits (my crack pit-crew at work:)) and begin lap # 7 with a 3 second lead over the McLaren. By the end of the lap, my lead has grown to 7.1 seconds over the McLaren MP4.

By the end of lap # 8, I have a 11.2 second lead over the McLaren MP4 who seems to have packed it in.:)

By the end of lap # 9, I have a 15.7 second lead over the McLaren MP4.

I drive really, really, really carefully on lap # 10:nervous: and win another trophy!:)

Race Time was: 24:38.252

Post race notes:
-------------------
Great fun! The Spirra has good speed at the 490PP level of tune, but its a handful to drive.
I really did make 10 attempts before I was finally able to win the Resort race. About half of the re-starts were caused by my poor driving and the other half were caused by the AI.
If the AI just touchs your Spirra's fender you will go flying off the track!:ouch:
I learned to be very careful around the AI because they just seemed to love giving me a fender-tap. I guess they enjoyed the sight of me speering off the track out into the grass and sand so I would get re-spawned back in last place.:(

See you on the track!

===============

Now despite the look - I had a hoot in this race as I was in a cluster of cars... obviously none of those aliens above, pushing there 25m34's.

E. "Enzo" Maggi in the Alfa Romeo TZ3, Vittoria "Vicki" Napoli in the California and the Z06 Vette of H. "Hector" Velasco. - Very close stuff, I had a Ricardo Zonta at Spa moment... I was running down from Gachot... and was ahead of Maggi and Napoli - they passed me on either side on the run to Brundle... I held my car in the middle of the road, but threaded the needle as both cars had a "Confidence lift/Mortality reality check" - But my big fat Supra had no advantage in other places where I normally gain - brake zones. I had to brake earlier as the big chunky brute takes longer to slow down... AND can't take corners at the same speed as the welterweight RX7.

(Hmmm... If GT6 cars were Boxers... which weight division would they be in?)

I thought I'd have another go at this in the McLaren MP4 again.

Setup as before, stock from the dealership 581PP with SH tyres, TC at 0 and ASBS at 1.

The Grid:
Veyron '13
Veyron '09
FXX
McLaren F1

Corvette ZR1
Ford GT

Ford Shelby GT500
Gallardo
Jag XKR-S
F40
Corvette Stingray C7

V12 Vantage
Me in MP4

and off we go...

Lap 1
Passed the Aston almost immediately, followed by the California, the Corvette, the Jag and then the Shelby. Up to 10th at the end of the lap and 15 secs behind FXX.
2:23.435

Lap 2
A small off at The Screw sees me drop back to 21 secs behind.
2:27.009

Lap 3
Catch and pass the 458 at The Kink
2:22.973

Lap 4
A good lap this, pass the Ford GT between Mike Greenhalgh and Gachot.
2:21.052

Lap 5
Pass the the Gallardo at Bathurst and then the other Corvette just before Gachot for 5th place. On the high speed run from Brundle to Sebring I hit the corner of a suddenly slowed Veyron. Replay shows he had run out of fuel!

Closing at 100mph

Dab of Oppo

I just manage to get back in control just in time for Sebring and carry on....

Up to 4th now and 7 secs back
2:24.122

Lap 6
Sticking with my plan to pit a bit later I stay out with the tyres at 8F and 7R and a third of a tank left.
There's a bit of too and fro this lap with the Gallardo as I make some mistakes and have some grassy moments. The 2 McLarens pit and I take the lead, the FXX having pitted the lap before.
2:32.280

Lap 7
I manage to get up to a 9 secs lead and pit with no fuel left. Get passed by the FXX and the other MP4
2:27.759

Lap 8
Out of the pits missing the wall and catch the MP4 at Brundle and am about 5 secs behind the FXX.
2:39.749

Lap 9
I catch the FXX at Bathurst and pass him on the outside. He seems to use up tyres pretty quickly and is all over the place.
2:21.643

Lap 10
Uneventful as the FXX doesn't give chase and I end with a winning margin of 10.5 secs.
2:22.805

The MP4 finishes 13s back followed by the ZR1 and McLaren F1, the others are half a minute back.

A good race and a win in the end despite some mistakes and a death defying crash into the Veyron.

Cheers

Lap 8
Out of the pits missing the wall and catch the MP4 at Brundle and I am about 5 secs behind the FXX.
2:39.749

Nicely done missing the pit-exit wall:tup:

I seem to be hitting the pit-exit wall about 80% of the time.:ouch:

I have also seen one of the AI Bugatti Veyron's hit the invisible wall, so its not just us that can't manage to avoid the wall after getting topped up with tires and liquid refreshments.:)

At the end of lap 3 4, the 3rd place Veyron enters the pits, and I see that I'm only 8.7 seconds behind the race leading McLaren MP4 after a new lap record of 2:22.013

By the end of lap # 5, I'm only 5.6 seconds behind the race leading McLaren MP4 who has the Enzo Ferrari right on his rear-bumper.

On lap # 6, I catch and pass the 2nd place Enzo Ferrari near the end of the lap and follow him into the pits for a new set of SH tires and 2 liters of fuel. I'm only 2.8 seconds behind the race leading McLaren, who is also in the pits.

The Opel Speedster does a decent job against the AI but isn't the most fun car to drive in this race.:( Its down on power so you are using the turns to make up time on the AI, but its handling is not the best, so you have to be really careful in the turns and around the other AI so you don't get punted off into the weeds.

On the plus side, I check my mileage after this race, and my Favorite Course is now the Ascari track, and I have driven 1697.7 miles on it:eek::)

See you on the track!

Horsepower: 331
Weight: 1200
P.Limiter: 94.8%
Tires: sport hard
ARF: Off

On the starting grid are the following cars:
----------------------------------------------
1. Bugatti Veyron '13
2. McLaren F1 '94
3. Aventador LP700
4. McLaren MP4-12C
5. Viper SRT10 ACR
6. Ford GT '06

12. Jag XKR-S
13. F40 '92
14. Corvette Stingray '14
15. CTS-V Coupe '11
16. my TVR

The flag drops and we're off!

On lap # 1, I pass the 12th place Jaguar XKR-S going thru the Brundle kink and end the lap 19.4 seconds behind the race leading Veyron.

At the end of lap # 2, I'm in 9th place, some 21.1 seconds behind the race leading Bugatti Veyron.

On lap # 3, I pass the 8th place Ford Shelby GT500 going thru the Hill and end the lap 16.0 seconds behind the race leading Veyron.

The Bugatti Veyron pits at the end of lap # 4, and I end the lap only 6.6 seconds behind the new race leading McLaren F1 '94.

At the end of lap # 5, I pass the 4th place Lambo Aventador and the 5th place SRT Viper GTS when they both enter the pits.

I begin lap # 6 in 4th place, still some 7 seconds behind the race leading McLaren F1. On lap # 6, I pass the 3rd place SRT Viper SRT10 just after the Brundle kink and follow the 2nd place McLaren F1 into the pits at the end of the lap. The first place McLaren MP4-12C beats me into the pits by about 5 seconds. I take on 7 liters of fuel an some new SH tires.

I beat both McLaren's out of the pits and open up a 3 second lead over the McLaren F1 by the 1st checkpoint on lap # 7.

As I begin lap # 8, I get the news that I have a 5.9 second lead over the 2nd place McLaren F1 '94.

As I begin lap # 9, I see that I have a 2.6 second lead over a fast closing McLaren F1.:nervous:

As I begin lap # 10, I see that I have a 4.1 second lead over the McLaren MP4-12C who has passed the McLaren F1. On lap # 10, I pass the 16th place CTS-V Coupe going thru Oulton, and the 15th place Jaguar XKR-S just after the Brundle kink. The back-markers help hold off the hard charging McLarens, so after a time of 2:24.941 on lap # 10, I get the win!:)

A nice close race!:)
The TVR is a bit of a quirky motor, so it took a couple of attempts before I got used to its handling.
I happened to check the Veyron's replay, and noticed that he hit the invisible pit wall when he was exiting the pits, so the wall is likely to jump out in front of the un-wary without any particular notice.:odd::lol:

See you on the track!

Time for a Ferrari classic, so I head off to the Ferrari dealership and pick up a new Ferrari 512BB '76.

The 512BB needs a bit of suspension work, so I leave it with my crack pit-crew for a month and when I pick it up it has the following spec's:

PPvalue: 495
Horsepower: 363
Weight: 1240
P.Limiter: 99.0%
Tires: sport hard
SRF: Off

I take the Ferrari 512BB to the Ascari track and give it an extensive shake-down against a lineup that includes the McLaren MP4-12C.

After 10 attempts, I find myself unable to beat the McLaren MP4.:banghead::irked::(

Most attempts I don't make it even to the half-way pit stop.:grumpy: before I find myself facing the wrong-way on the track.:ill:

So I throw in the towel and pick a slower grid with the fastest car being the Enzo Ferrari as follows:

1. Bugatti Veyron
2. Aventador LP700
3. Enzo Ferrari
4. Viper SRT10 ACR
5. Aston Martin One-77
6. Murcielago LP670
7. Viper GTS '13
8. 458 Italia '09
9. Reventon '08
10. Ford Shelby GT500
11. Murcielago LP640
12. 430 Scuderia '07
13. Cizeta V16T '94
14. Corvette Z06 '06
15. California '08
16. me in the 512BB

The flag drops one more time!! and we're off!!

On lap # 1, I pass the 13th place Cizeta V16T going thru Spa and end the lap 16.9 seconds behind the Bugatti Veyron.

On lap # 2, I pass the 11th place Lambo Murcielago LP640 going thru the Hill and end the lap 16.7 seconds behind the race leading Bugatti Veyron.

On lap # 3, I battle the entire lap with the 8th place Lambo Reventon, so I run a very slow lap, a 2:29.826, and end the lap 23.2 seconds behind the race leading bugatti Veyron.:(

On lap # 4, I pass the 6th place Lambo Murcielago LP670 and end the lap only 13.5 seconds behind the race leading Enzo Ferrari after a decent 2:24.356 lap.

On lap # 5, I pass the 4th place SRT Viper GTS going thru Oulton and then follow the Lambo Aventador into the pits for a new set of SH tires and 6 liters of fuel. The S/F split shows that I'm 11.9 seconds behind the Enzo Ferrari who has decided to run his tires for 6 laps.

I beat the Lambo Aventador out of the pits and re-join the race in 5th place just behind the Bugattie Veyron who had pitted the prior lap, so his tires were nicely warmed up as he went past me. At the first checkpoint on lap # 6, I get the news that I'm 21.5 seconds behind the race leading Enzo Ferrari who is yet to pit.

As I begin lap # 7, I pass the SRT Viper SRT10 and the Ferrari 430 Scuderia who are in the pits. The S/F split was 11.6 seconds behind the Enzo Ferrari who is now in the pits, so I flash past and take over 2nd place in the race.:) At the first checkpoint on lap # 7, I see that I'm only 1.8 seconds behind the race leading Bugatti Veyron. By the end of the lap, the Veyron's lead is down to 0.813 seconds.:)

I closely follow the Bugatti Veyron during lap # 8, and then when he pits at the end of the lap, I drive past and take over the race lead.:) after a 2:26.932 lap.

At the first checkpoint on lap # 9, I get the news that I have opened up a 16.1 second lead over the Enzo Ferrari who must have forgotten about me.:) By the end of the lap, I have a 18.5 second lead over the Enzo.

Lap # 10 takes me 2:28.649 as I drive carefully to the finish for the win!!:)

Post race notes:

The Ferrari 512BB is a real handful to drive. Slight mistakes will cause quick spin-outs and extensive off-roading.:ill: And the AI just doesn't give you any breaks. Just a slight tap from the AI will send you spinning off into the weeds. The above win was probably my 14th or 15th attempt with the 512BB:banghead: I was first running with 492PP, but had to increase this to give myself more speed so I didn't have to take a chance and battle the AI for every corner, but instead could sometimes ease-up and pass the AI in a more favorable corner or position. I found that you needed to give each AI a wide-margin when making each pass, because other-wise, the AI would punt you off the track.:irked: Over and over again, the AI would just punt me into the weeds, and the Ferrari 512BB is not stable enough to stay on the track after even a minor fender rub.

Once I have some rest, I may make a few more attempts to beat the McLarens, but this won't be for at least a day!

See you on the track!

I had a run in a bone stock RX500 Mazda

I say Bone stock. I dropped down to Comfort Softs (And turned all the anti driver gubbins). Still did a pit stop new boots and managed to get the win in one of the best races I've had in a while. I'll post the numbers later. I started off and the AI were just bunched right up. I thought I was struggling for pace, but the Lead cars had not pull any gap.

Time for some more German machinery, so I purchase a RUF 3400S '00 and take it to the Ascari track.

After some tuning, my RUF has the following spec's:

PPvalue: 483
Horsepower: 323
Weight: 1210
P.Limiter: 98.0%
Tires: sport hard
SRF: Off

I decide to run against a strong grid which includes the Huayra as follows:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Bugatti Veyron '09
2. Bugatti Veyron '13
3. Pagani Huayra '13
4. McLaren F1 '94
5. Corvette ZR1 '09
6. 458 Italia '09
7. Reventon '08
8. Diablo GT '00
9. 430 Scuderia '07
10. Gallardo LP560
11. Ferrari 599 '06
12. Lexus LFA '10
13. Audi R8 5.2 quattro
14. Jag. XKR-S '11
15. California '08
16. my RUF

The flag drops and we're off!

On lap # 1, I pass the 14th place Jaguar XKR-S and end the lap 18.1 seconds behind the race leader.

On lap # 2, I pass the 12th place Audi R8 quattro going thru the Piff-Paff chicane and end the lap 21.9 seconds behind the race leader.

On lap # 3, I pass the 9th place Lambo Gallardo going thru Spa and end the lap still exactly 21.9 seconds behind the race leading Pagani Huayra.

On lap # 4, I pass the 7th place Ferrari 458 Italia going thru the Screw and end the lap 23.6 seconds behind the race leading Pagani Huayra.

At the beginning of lap # 5, I pass both Veyron's since they are in the pits.:) At the end of the lap, I see that I'm only 18.3 seconds behind the race leading McLaren F1, who has taken over 1st place in the race from the Pagani Huayra who has taken to the pits.

At the end of lap # 6, I follow the 2nd place Lambo Diablo into the pits for a new set of SH tires and 4 liters of fuel. The 1st place McLaren F1 is just ahead of the Lambo Diablo, so the S/F split is only 5.3 seconds.:)

While I'm in the pits, the Pagani Huayra drives past and takes over the race lead again, so I begin lap # 7 and give chase.

By the end of lap # 7, I see that I'm 8.5 seconds behind the race leading Pagani Huayra.

By the end of lap # 8, I'm only 3.7 seconds behind the race leading Pagani Huayra after a lap record of 2:22.332.

By the end of lap # 9, I almost catch the race leading Pagani Huayra and end the lap only 1.066 seconds behind.

On lap # 10, I pass the 1st place Pagani Huayra going thru the Hill and win the race with a 0.179 margin!:)

A very close race!:scared::)
The RUF 3400S is an excellant car and can easily beat the AI, even the Pagani Huayra!:)
The RUF's handling is quite good so the race was good fun!

See you on the track!

Used your setup and won easy.
Thank you.

Lol, it was much as expected:

Three different FR-cars with a PP in the high 470's, and it is obvious that I have no hope whatsoever of winning a race, and very little possibibility of being anything other than last in a race. Even overtaking a single car is almost impossible. Sometimes a cars spins out in front of me ...only to overtake me again half a lap later. 95% of races are interrupted by "off track" or "short cut" ...within the first lap.
It is restart after restart after restart, and I have not the patience for this. GT 6 simply is too difficult for me, but I knew this already.

I'm back to GT 5 and the Endurance Races: I can have my fun doing what I like best.

Notes:
@GTsail290 @von Stiefel

I selected a lineup that omitted the faster cars. The AI seemed to get sideways pretty often, and I had to restart several times when they bashed my light car off the course. Next time, I will try a heavier car!
