Is aspyrin(sp?) really lethal? I've heard stories about it that it can be deadly if you take too much, or if you mix it with coke.

How much would it take for it to be lethal? with and without Coke?

You'd have to take a hell of a lot of aspirin to kill yourself. Ano no, it isn't lethal with Coke. Unless you mean cocaine.

I've heard that you can't die of an aspirin overdose. You'll vomit the contents before it can all get in the bloodstream. However, it is potentially lethal to mix large amounts of aspirin with large amounts of alcohol.

I used to know a fellow who was a typical nice guy, but he was immensely overweight, had no life, no money, lived at home. He quit his job at my store about 8 years ago because they wouldn't give him a raise. About 2 weeks later, he tried to kill himself by overdosing on aspirin. He said, "I felt terrible, eventually felt worse, and was pissed off when I woke up sicker than before, but alive. Shit!"

Well, last I heard, he went back to school and wanted to make something of his life.

On a side-note, Will.c is right. Chocolate contains a substance known as "Theobromine". This is, as far as I'm aware, a toxin to all mammals. 1g of milk chocolate per lb bodyweight of a dog is enough to kill it (it must be neutralised with charcoal powder) - and it is also toxic to humans, although we'd need to ingest a stunning amount (around 7kg for the average person).

Aspirin (salicylic acid) is potentially lethal. It's better than taking a paracetamol overdose though - at least if you change your mind you can barf it up and not subsequently die of liver failure.

Why is it better than a paracetamol overdose? You can't barf up acetominophin? and why doesn't salicylic lead to liver failure? What does a salicylic acid overdose lead to?

Yes it can be lethal in high overdoses. I've heard people talk about actually trying to overdose and one barely made it. Not something you'd want to try.

I'm sure it depends on the persons weight and stuff like that butt i'm thinking you'd probably have to ingest a whole bottle or so. The person I was talking about above ingested a whole bottle and didnt die.

Also, In hearf that if you take aspirin before you turn 18 (might be 21) that you will get a Brain tumor... Is this true?
