Didn't find a thread about it here, so..

I read that this game is going to be much better than the first one and pretty much in-depth. Also watched some video's, I'm pretty impressed by how big and accurate the game is. I'm probably going to end up buying it. :)

Here's some stuff for you to look at:
http://ps3.ign.com/objects/143/14302494.html

I think it's going to rock. :dopey:

Game looks good, despite most people i did enjoy the first one, although i didn't properly learn to fight until almost Finishing the game, which was my main complaint. It was a bit repetitive, but i did enjoy the exploring and finding the vantage points. I probably won't buy it, maybe gamefly, but i think gamestop is having a special trade in 2 games and get it for 19.99 which i might do, i have NFS shift and World at war that i'm never going to touch again. :)👍

[edit]-The deal was for MW2, Assasin's Creed 2 deal is buy the game at price, and trade it in by Dec 20, 2009 for a $40.00 credit. so i'll wait for gamefly, but either way game looks good.

Hmm, that is still a good deal. You basically play the game, only for 20 bucks. Downside is that you only will possess it for a month, but if you play with good pace, you probably can finish it multiple times.

I wish there were deals like that over here in Nederland, but no, we only can buy the game for 60 euros.

Ebay import? :sly:

The appeal of the first game wore off so quickly, I'd probably rent it out, but I'd be unsure of buying it straight away.

Loved the first one, enjoyed it, the killing, the story line and I'm sure this one will be better. I already paid for it and all I have to do is pick it up:)

The first was so incredibly repetitive after a while, but supposedly that problem's been rectified this time around.

Will probably pick it up once I get bored of MW2... which will probably be the same time GT5 comes out... so, er... looks like I may never get around to it after all.

I got bored by the 1st one very quickly. This one looks much better but I'll wait to buy it.

How much money does that cost? You still have to pay for the shipping... plus I think my PS3 needs PAL games.

Edit: Just read some more of the development of the game on the blog on IGN. It's crazy how far they went with the immersion. They have the history down pretty well. The woman who did the blog learned about the time period for 9 months, making notes, even before the games development started. And they even have voice-overs in Italian with english subtitles. That is bloody awesome.

i do it on ebay.co.uk or some websites.

I never did complete the first one because as said, I got board! I felt Like I was doing the same stuff over and over again, and I hate games like that >.<

I felt Like I was doing the same stuff over and over again

Felt like? You were doing the same stuff over and over  I enjoyed the first to begin with, then it got pretty meh but I carried on as the assassinations, which make up such a tiny part of the game, were good. Then near the end there was some major stupid plot stuff going on which kinda ruined things on that front. It was alright overall I guess, but full price for it is a rip off. Hopefully they've learnt for this one, I know alot of people who bought the original because it looked great and then it just wasn't, now they've ruined their image a little and are going to have to, shock horror!, make a good game.

I loved the first game. Never really got bored of taking on 10+ guards at a time with the wrist knife... blocking's for girls! The climbing and running made it feel like the first proper next gen game for me.

I agree that the missions were to restrictive though and my impression of this game, so far, ist that, again, there will be one 'correct' way to go thogh each mission. Will still get it in the new year.

I think they solved that a bit for this one, their prime focus for this game was diversity, so if they didn't do that part well they kinda suck, haha.

Well, the first reviews are out. They aren't really positive regarding the scores. On IGN and GT it has scored 9.2 but there seem to be alot of minuses to be that good of a score. And I heard that the PS3 version suffers from tearing alot. If they can't fix it, I won't buy it. I hate screen tearing, it's also in GT5P in the slow section in London.

I got it at the midnight release, haven't gotten too far into it, but I'm loving it so far. Of course, I love the first one as well.

I've had the game a couple days now, and completed it last night. I want to write so much, but at the same time don't want to spoil it.

All I can say is that it's a definite purchase. I love history, and am a huge fan of AC1, but like many, grew tired by the repetitiveness of it. No problems here, AC2 has beautifully varied gameplay, a compelling story, huge cities to explore (with more interaction) and some nice mini-games and intriguing quests to keep you interested for a while. It's more like an action-RPG now.

One thing I would say is that the assassinations can feel a little less stealthy and more action-orientated than AC1 by the options you are given in the scenario, or maybe that was just how I felt when playing, it has been a while since I played AC1's story. Combat is still largely counter-based, but the new tools at your disposal are good for mixing things up.

It's also very long. I took my sweet time, and I think I ended up with about 40+ hours play. I have the week off, so I actually managed to clock 22 hours straight in one sitting, it was that good. I did complete AC1 in the space of two days also, but I defintely had more fun this time as the gameplay was so varied and I didn't really have to grind to satisfy my completionist nature.

The ending, which I won't spoil, really is a huge WTF, especially combined with the information you unlock from the glyphs.

Any questions, gimme a shout. I've got everything 100% done, except collecting the feathers. Although it's the first game that has left me satisfied length-wise in a long time, I'm now a little sad it's over.

Digital, how long was the campaign? I know the first time you finish a game is the run that takes you the most time, but it would still be a good indicator for replay value.

If you went through without doing any secondary missions or quests, I'd estimate about 15 hours. The first 2-3 hours in themselves are a unique experience. But the way the game is laid out, you'll want to do at least some sections of the secondary missions.

For 360 owners, here's where we see what you might call classic Assassin's Creed performance: 5.2 per cent torn frames (just like the first game) with a 24FPS minimum (ditto). It bears out a gameplay experience which suggests that playing ACII feels very similar to playing the original: off-putting screen-tear when it does manifest and a sense that the game isn't really as solid as you would hope it would be two years after its predecessor came out.

PS3 gets a 24FPS minimum, with 22.6 per cent screen-tear. Yes, the sequel is clearly a big improvement o
ver the first game in terms of raw performance, especially in terms of a smoother frame-rate, but the tearing is clearly a very big issue, and it's most especially evident in crowded scenes. The very nature of Assassin's Creed II means there are a lot of crowded scenes.

22.5% tearing on the PS3 version.. 👎 I wish I had a 360 now.

Stuff like tearing doesn't bother me so much, so I haven't really noticed it. The one time I noticed it was after I read about the fact that it was there and I was in a really crowded place. In any case it didn't degrade the game at all for me, I'm not picky about that kind of stuff, as long as the game doesn't freeze up and have weird glitches.

I guess I'm kinda picky then. :p I got used to the stuttering frame rate of GTAIV, but I don't know if I can with tearing. It devaleus the whole experience for me. A big issue like this should be solved.

This game definitely rocks. Every aspect of it is better than the original. Also I just got this: :D

I just got this game off Ebay. I hoping that I will enjoy it. I think will though.
