It's a bit more than a given. It's already behind schedule and was released in Early Access lacking. It's one thing to release something in early access, fine even though I'm personally never a fan of that, but to get the thing just starting to barely work and say, here you go, use this, is pushing the boundaries.

No. It's not a given. How is any of this a given? It's already behind schedule and was released in Early Access lacking. For me I feel they have been quite clear. They have given anyone that wants to have early access, of an incomplete game, as it is developed, at a discount is welcome to sign up. If you want a finished game then wait till it is released. I for one already have gotten my moneys worth. Yes lots need to be improved but this is happening and I feel that the basics show huge promise. ACE just feels so natural to drive for me. Its just it is not happening fast enough for many people. if people think they can do better then they can go a build there own sim. But we live in a world where its easier to voice our complaints and expect everything to happen now.

Ya, we all read this stuff. People understand what's going on. No brain surgery is going on here. I did the same thing with ACC and watched AC when that came out but didn't get AC when it first came out. The only one I skipped out on was Netkar Pro. ACC went through a few changes too.
I have got no where near my moneys worth yet. lol. No one has. It's not even close to done. That's a weird thing to even say. The AI aren't even close to polished nor is there any multiplayer yet. That's wonderful you have no complaints and have got your moneys worth already. There's enough stuff out here to use in that if I never touched AC EVO until their 1.0 "complete" launch, I'd be perfectly fine. Most people are of the opinion that it was a bit of a rough early access so far. They've already hired different people and put out a video that starts out by saying we got it wrong. They did that themselves.
I don't have much to complain about, I'm just going to sit back and see what happens. If it turns out to be the worst thing they've ever made, so be it, but I don't think that will be the case.

I get that you have not gotten your money's worth. I am curious how you define that. If I only had 10 hours in the game then spending $3 an hour to enjoy driving 30+ cars on 10 track layouts is well worth my cost. So your statement that "no one has" is demonstrably false;) how would you define your money's worth?

For one, I'd at least like to see how their dream and premise of what they're trying to build actually plays out.
If they're going to succeed AC1, then that is what I'd like to see. I have all the faith in the world that this will be great, that isn't an issue, all I was eluding to was a somewhat bare bones shaky start. Out of AMS2, LMU, or AC(C), this has not pulled me away from any of them. Plus, if they're just going to reset all the times and accomplishments, which they already did once and will do again, I don't want to spend a lot of time grinding until it's complete.
I'm on Kunos side. It's OK to call out the indifferent start to AC Evo, hell, they did that themselves.

it's version 0.2... like seriously how does this not compute?

It does compute. As an IT guy who does web design but more importantly has done work with 3 separate mod groups for AC and with PCMT for AMS2, it computes just fine. I get setbacks and beginning stages of development. When this came out, there were people who couldn't even use this on their systems. It was so unoptimized that some had to down scale from 4k to 2k or all the way to 1080p to get it to run but couldn't even do that without changing their whole native resolution on their PC's to 2k or 1080p. I've been here the whole time. Had it on day 1. How does blowing up what I said into something it's not compute?
I don't even know who this guy is but there is a lot of exactly this. I think the driving model is good. Graphics look fine. Features just aren't there yet.

again it’s version 0.2, let’s reiterate Version 0.2

You should then be able to understand where the game currently sits if you’re an IT guy and in mod groups, Version 0 not 1, version 0

Again, I know that. Like I said. Should we do this over and over again? lol
Uhh no you clearly don’t because you seem unaware of any roadmap ahead which you can find here.
Any game in Version 0, reiterate its version 0 again will have a shaky start.

Someone in IT should know this…
Were you here for ACC?
I was, what’s the relevance here or is this deflection from a stupid point you’re trying to make

It is the height of ignorance to complain about the state of a game in early access

Nobody was forced into purchasing. Nobody was mislead as to the state of the game they were purchasing.

It's possible I've missed something along the way but I can't identify a single promise that has been broken or an expectation that was set by the developer that has fallen short.

Early Access is not a difficult concept to understand. Yet, there are always that handful of people who just don't understand it 🤷‍♂️

How is it ignorant to complain about a product not meeting the expectations that have been set by the creators? From what I've been hearing from a mate who plays this (with a fairly beefy PC), the AI is dumb, sounds aren't very good, and VR is outright broken - and they supported AC and ACC during Early Access, so it's not a foreign concept.

Expecting something like the open world and multiplayer to be in Version 0.X is one thing, but hiding behind the "it's Early Access bro" and rejecting any form of criticism isn't helping anyone.

As @Beezer215 said, Kunos themselves acknowledged the game has had a rough start - if people have gotten their money's worth from the game, more power to them. Blatant bootlicking and rejecting any form of criticism will just result in a mediocre product. The always-online requirement is being removed due to the (apparently not insignificant) backlash - this is what constructive criticism can achieve.

Disclaimer: I intend to purchase this game once the always-online requirement has been removed, and the game is in a more complete state - that could be during Early Access, or I may have to wait for the full release to happen. I'm monitoring the progress of Evo because I'm a big fan of the previous two entries, and see the potential this has - just pre-empting the inevitable "You don't even own the game, why are you complaining?" responses.
