My DFGT's D-Pad doesn't appear to be recognized. Perhaps the game doesn't support D-Pads? I use it to look left / right in all sims, so this isn't minor for me.

Yes it doesn't recognize the D-Pad on my T500 either, Hoping it can be used sometime soon.

@fatkrakr Awesome, I'll have to try that out. Thanks.

@Bigbazz Hah, we have the same mouse. I have the Naga too, but its maximum DPI is 5600. Maybe you have a newer version? Still, they're very sensitive, now imagine throwing 5 bass shakers into the mix. It's a pain. :P

@Patrick Good to hear it's not only an issue on my end. On PC, D-Pads are registered as POV Hats, so maybe the sim doesn't support those yet. That's basically 8 buttons we can't use.

I have the 2014 Naga yeah, I also had the original from 2009 but it developed a double click issue on single clicks.

I finally had time to set AC correctly, FOV, monitor angle (thanks fatkrakr I wouldn't have guessed there was a menu on the right hah). I also set up my Simvibe with it which adds to the experience. I'm thoroughly impressed. I like all those little "apps" as they call them which you can place wherever you want on-screen. Very handy. All it needs is the 'ring.

Keep hearing nothing but good things about it. I think once their multiplayer goes live it will be amongst the top of online racers, and as long as they keep releasing content.

I have this problem as well, I wanted to assign one of the buttons on the right side of my DFGT as the handbrake to use when drifting.

Want to give this game a try but i'm a noob on pc...

Will this run on an Acer laptop with specs:

Intel core i7 2.2ghz up to 3.1ghz
Nvidia Geforce GT540m
6Gb memory

Tnx for the tips, I've bought it and doesn't work 🤬

Keep giving the message: missing file, steam won't initiate
Did all fixes stated on Steam, no effect...Thought I'd mail support today but the site doesn't work here (at work) Aaargghhh...

This is why I hate PC-gaming :indiff:

It's almost Christmas, happy thoughts happy thoughts :D

That could have simply been a placeholder for what they hoped to add in, but Nordschleife's definitely the announcement I most want it to be. So here's hoping.

That's from August of 2012, from their Gamescom booth.

Looks like a lot of people are going to be very happy tomorrow.

WOW. I had no idea this had been in the works for so long. And here I was, fully prepared to be 'disappointed' that they would only release the Grand Prix track. Now I really AM getting hyped up! 👍

And hey, look at that map, it's the full Nordscheife + Südschleife! Yowza! Now wouldn't that be a Christmas present to remember!:dopey:

Graphics, sound and driving comparison between GT6 and Assetto Corsa. It's a lap to Monza circuit with the Ferrari F40 in both.

What is your opinion? Assetto has good cockpit graphics and textures (except the steering wheel, which I like the GT) but needs improve in lighting and contrast, with a little more better in this aspects would be much better. As for sounds and driving Assetto is far better, of course.

I think the lighting and contrast in the latest version (I know morning/evenings never used to have the big sun and extreme colors before) is fantastic.

Really can't say anything about comparisons, because Youtube destroys the quality of everything. Which is sometimes good for hiding flaws, but with AC running the way it should, it's the opposite. Nothing needs hiding. Youtube really makes it look nowhere near as pretty as it is.

They're certainly not underhyping this one.

I'm not sure Assetto Corsa really need imporvement in lighting. To be honest when I drive my real car I never seen such drammatic light changes on a street with trees and yes, I'm talking about sunny days like in the video.
Gran Turismo dynamic shadows goes from full dark to full bright, it looks great but that's not exactly what happen in real life! They overused the effect.

I bet this announcement will just be them wishing us a Happy Christmas xD Ultimate troll :P

The way the car interracts with the track looks pretty good. 3dvision seems to work well. 1080p or better oculus rift is going to be mindblowing.

We don't know if that's the announcement yet and like someone mentioned, it might be just some placeholder for the planned addition of the track.

Still it would be AWESOME if it was the case. A well-made version of the Nordschleife on a PC sim = No reason whatsoever to boot GT every one in a while anymore.

Yeah. For various reasons, I haven't been using 3D Vision the past couple weeks. Just played some today and was blown away anew with this game. I don't know if I just have settings dialed in better now, or if they've improved the graphics since it started.

The huge sun at sunset/sunrise is a little over the top, but I absolutely love it. And in 3D, it's an eye-gasm.

I have to say, I'm not all that impressed with AC right now, but I'm guessing they've got a similar situation to Project CARS in that some of their cars are more refined than others. In practice mode with all the assists off using my G27, the Lotus 49, F40 and E30 M3 all seem to be pretty similar. I couldn't make the F40 spin on purpose which is quite the feat given its reputation, and the Lotus seemed to have no lift-off oversteer at all; I drifted it a couple of times but my first lap of Monza was a lot more successful than in either GP Legends or Project CARS.

Obviously I'm not writing it off or anything, its just that I was expecting to be at least a little blown away given the reactions I've seen and impressions I've read. Are there better cars to try, or maybe setups or tweaks I can do to make the Lotus more of a handful to drive?

Haven't tried the F40, but I am flabbergasted that you find the Lotus 49 and the E30 M3 to be similar. Oh well.

Well, the Lotus is nothing like what I'd expect and is as easy to drive as the E30, hence why I say they're similar. You'd expect them to be completely different, but they aren't.

@neema_t

Now, when I say this, I know how experienced you are with virtual driving, so bear with me as it'll seem insensitive but it certainly is not meant to be. Are you inline with the thinking that "harder to drive = realism"?

No, of course not! But those F1 cars were known for being something of a handful, as is the F40, but neither seem particularly lively in AC. I think GPL exaggerates the Lotus 49 a little just as GT6 exaggerates the F40 (and all mid-engined cars) but you'd expect snap oversteer resulting in a spin from braking hard into a corner in an F40, in AC I just understeer. I expect the Lotus to try to kill me if I come off the throttle completely in a fast turn, but it barely even oversteers. Maybe I need to give it more time, though, I've only had half an hour on it.

I'll need to do a lap back-to-back to refresh my memory, but I seem to recall the Lotus 49 in Project CARS to be a handful whilst in AC it is just inert by comparison. I'm not saying either have it right - I've not driven a Lotus 49 - but if I had to guess how it would drive, I'd say Project CARS is more in line with what I'd expect. But it's an unfair comparison anyway since neither are finished yet.

Edit: Having done a number of laps of Monza in the Lotus 49 in AC and Project CARS, I can say that the key difference is that the Project CARS version has noticeably less lateral grip than the AC version. In AC I was able to corner flat out in 3rd and 4th gear with no problem, if anything I was getting a little understeer. Lifting off and turning hard into 2nd gear corners resulted in a slide, but nothing too difficult to catch and I was able to pull off a few nice drifts, sometimes I understeered without sliding at all. In Project CARS if you try to corner flat out in 3rd and 4th you will start to lose grip so you need to ease off slightly, turning hard into a 2nd gear corner will result in bigger, often uncatchable slides.

Now, I don't know if Project CARS is more realistic as a result, but it does match up better with what I've read and seen of the car than the AC version does. Maybe it's just that the tyres need a little less grip to let it slide more under high-g cornering, maybe it's the result of the legends of these cars being completely overblown...

Well I definitely think it's a bit of the Legends being completely overblown a bit. They were mere mortals after all. And it's not like they all died. And for most who did die, it was probably mostly from mechanical failure. I mean, if you're blowing through a unguarded forest at 150mph, and something breaks, well... you're pretty much cooked.

That said, I think the Lotus 49 probably does need some work. It's probably my least favorite car in the game. Not because I don't love these old cars, just because I don't think it lives up to the standard of the rest of the cars. IMO they just have too much understeer compared to the 60s cars in RF2. I mean, maybe it's the most accurate, but something just seems a little too tankish.

So how do you find the driving compared to this:

Hard to tell, he's on modern slick tyres and the AC is on oldschool Bias Ply tyres. The AC car seems more stable and easier to push than in other sims, i'd say that Rfactor 2 is more convincing to me for that particular car.

They may be modern tires but they don't look like slicks.

A semi slick then, I can see the lines in the tyre on second looking but they are nothing like an old bias ply, they looked like a slick when I watched it the first time in the default quality. That is the thing, the tyres are one of the most important factors.

Aside from that he's not pushing the car at all, so it's really hard to see what the car is like at or near the limit (where most of us are pushing the car to when we play sims).
