My favorite in real life is the 1983 Audi Sport Quattro (Who dosen't like this car, honestly.)

My favorite in the game is the ur Quattro and the '03 TT.

I feel the "need" to "piss" you off because I cant stand your posts. On another forum I visit your posting style would have you considered a "muppet". Muppets on that site have their own section for them to freepost their weird and wonderful posts and lame attempts of humour.

I dont think audi threads are my territory, I just know a hell of alot of them, and do defend them alot when people throw out the old stereotypes which goes against all the awards audi has been winning.

I personally like the RS models Audi had. Stupidly quick, nice handling cars. Particularly the old RS6.
I have to say, though, that, at least from an engineering standpoint, the Audi TT (both generations) has got to be the worst car I've ever seen. And I'm still divided on whether the new TT looks any better than the old one overall.

You have confused me with that statement. Do you think that the TT is a really bad car engineering wise or styling wise as you seemingly changed your mind half way through the sentence.

The original TT sold on its styling so its a perfectly valid point to discuss, just because its personal doesn't mean it can't be open to discussion.

As for the second point, this does depend on the version. Please don't even try and say that the original TT was a great car engineering wise, it simply was not. The current version I would agree have moved the game on in that area. It could be summarised that the original TT was style over substance and the current TT has reversed that.

Yes but hes saying the MK1 TT was the worst car to grace the planet earth. Firstly its a great deal better than most cars on the road, and the Lightweight 2 seater sport version of the MK1 TT was meant to be quite a track performer.

To say the MK2 TT is rubbish though is really silly. I can spam this thread with the awards that cars already won, (several driver of the year) and the comparos its won over the Z4 and cayman etc. The MK2 TT is a great car, Id own one.

The MK1 TT also has a huge tuner community in the UK who take their tuning very seriously. A couple mods to the haldex, suspension and engine turns the car into something not to be scoffed at.

FYI - and apropos of nothing - it's "moot", not "mute". Though I mention it only for your future reference, and not in any form of attack.

To help the thread along, would you care to elaborate on HOW Toronado is wrong, from an engineering standpoint? Otherwise it's also all about opinion - that you are right and he is not.

It also beats several more powerful cars around the 'ring. Im not saying it was a good drivers car, Im just saying that it wasnt exactly bad either.

I'll note that you're stating any number of things about how the car was perceived by the market, sold and drove, but aren't mentioning a thing about the engineering of the vehicle - which is the specific point you stated Toronado was wrong about, and followed up by saying that engineering qualities are not opinion-based. But that's all you've given so far - your opinion is that it is not a poorly-engineered car (or at least the worst-engineered car that Toronado has ever seen - and for all we know, he could have spent his life locked in a VTEC-engine production facility) and that anyone who disagrees is wrong.


I'll help you along here. Tell me what areas of the engineering of the car are particularly good.

Id say none other than that audi managed to make it a 2+2 even though it is such a compactly packaged car and that the interior is excellent to look at, feel and use. The rest is all mediocre, apart from the engine.

the tt is not a good track car. its a car that focuses more on its appearance.
(although that 3.2 L V6 really packs a punch)
