Well... sorta. You see the TopGear episode where they ran that Audi against a recent Evo and it (the Audi) got spanked? You could argue that on tarmac the Audi wasn't entirely in its element but still impressive for sure. Speaking of gonzo Group B cars missing, why no Lancia 037? They got all the others but for the pretty one. Gah.

Comparing the Quattro S1 (Group B) and current WRC cars is tough, as there haven't been straight comparisons between them.
However, I saw a recent interview of Hannu Mikkola ( the '83 World Rally champion with Audi ) and he said that if a '85 Group B S1 was put against the modern WRC cars, the Audi would be just as fast on fast gravel stages, but would lose on the more twisty stuff. That's something...
Mikkola stated that the Audi did have nearly twice the power of current cars, and also the S1 wings created more downforce. For a reference, Mikkola's time at the '85 Finnish rally with Audi S1, on the legendary Ouninpohja, still hasn't been matched by any WRC car.
