Thank you very much I will try this out as soon as i can get on the PS3 ( got to fit new lounge carpet this weekend so cannot get on yet) I really like this cars style and looks hence why i havent given up with it Thanks again for all the help and I will let you know how I get on.

I have posted the tune on my garage, check my post above it has the tune in quote box.

Is any one else having problems with this car, The back end breaks away far to easy making it virtually undrivable. I've tried every thing suspension and diff but to no avail. I can manage to drive a LMP with no aids but this Audi is my nightmare.

Any advice please.

Only way to fix it is to do a pit-stop. :(

Does the regular Audi LMS cars have the same problem as the LMS Ultras because i was thinking of buying the Team Oreca one.

I had noticed the very same problems with the car.

I'm not a serious tuner and always prefer to drive cars in its stock setting.

Playing GT6 so far, I have driven ~100 different cars and haven't had any big problems with MR or racing cars with no aids. I even really enjoy taming BTR around coners. I didn't yet drive street version R8 or LMS 2009 in GT6, but they were fine in GT5.

However, this Ultra LMS seems to seriously lack grips on its rear. There are two versions in the dealership: base model and Team Phoenix. I feel the later is more easy to control and happen to find that its default rear downforce is higher than the base model but it is still too tricky to control.

Comparing with other homologation GT cars in stock settings, it is way too slippery. So I think it's unfair to simply attribute its problem to a lack of fine tuning, rather I suspect there might be something wrong like miscalculation of the physics engine applied to the car.

The base model is not the same as the team Pheonix, the base model is same as the playstation 2009 version and drives fine.

The team oreca is nearly as bad as the Pheonix.

IMO, the front tire has too much grip, something to do with chassis code parameter within car data :) Check my tune for the LMS Ultra if you are interested ( just LSD, suspension and brake balance - you can fine tune these again yourself to suit your driving style-I give short explanation on the tune post )

I am tuning Diablo GT2 and Cizeta V16T for racing hard, both cars have similar issue as LMS Ultra Phoenix, and these 2 now are very much fun to race on racing tire now ( tested in arcade race at bathurst and willow springs )

I meant R8 LMS Ultra '12 which has canards on its front bumper. R8 LMS Team Playstation '09 has its own base model conterpart, R8 LMS '09, and both of them have no canards.

Just tried your tune and it feels so nice and stable. Two thumbs up. Thanks! I can't understand why the stock setting is so ridiculous. Is it PD or the car?

You're welcome, lower the front camber by 0.1 if you feel too much understeer in lower speed ( find a good balance so it's not twitchy ), while in high speed understeer, you can reduce the rear downforce to balance the front grip or use the stiffer spring rate sets on the tune to help with better response in cornering and to suit track surface. Finding the suitable brake balance is the tricky part, the easy way is to drive the car in arcade race, there the brake balance have full effect, try to run lower value and increase rear bias until you find good value that has bite and won't kick out rear easily. I run 4/10 BB in arcade race, this actually almost kills the understeer as I trail brake, but that's just me :)
