For the most part I'm happy. But, the one thing I am disappointed in is the collision/penalty system between cars. I went home for lunch today and ran my BNR34 at Suzuka Intermediate for 3 races. I was penalized for rubbing doors with another driver. By rubbing I mean we were side by side in the ess's after the front stretch and then again in the chicaine before the finish line and a 3rd time at the left hand hairpin in the middle of the course. Neither of us was attempting to push the other. It was only that those were the places at which we converged on the track. The rest of the time I was chasing him or he was catching up to me. Instead of it being considered good competitive racing, the server was penalizing me. Another driver was penalized similarly when he came up next to me in a tight spot. He wasn't trying to run over me - he didn't even bump. We simply rubbed doors. What's up with that? Why does PD continue to fail in this area?
I know it's only one aspect of the game. And, the game is great overall - I'm not going to stop playing over this.
Maybe it'll get better once we have private rooms. Then, maybe we'll be able to run a 20 or 30 lap race. As it is, there's no time to set up a pass. Drivers have to take every opportunity to pass each other because the races are too short. Why not create multiple online races within each skill class in varying durations? It would be nice to run a 10 lap Intermediate race at the Suzuka track or have the option of running the 3 lap version instead.
I am happy to see that the tire issues were addressed. Thank you PD. But, there's still room for improvement in future updates.
