<Raises hand>

Picked up the Monaro for 41,000cr last night. Took it for a spin then gave it to my b-spec guy, M.Farkas for a couple of easy wins.

Im not online very often, but you guys can add my PSN if you want for when I do get around to going online.

Not super fussed about the cars, but Bathurst is a must.

Cant believe they still havent included it, GT4 was probably more likely to have it, as that had a few more Aussie cars aswell.

Damn.

I'd take as much aussie content as possible.

PD should do some region specific DLC releases (not region locked)

A couple of famous cars from each region of the world along with a track from that area.

considering the lack of 'new' cars there would be plenty to fill.

Reporting in.

Can't believe Aus was so neglected in this game. I'd love to take a Phase III around Bathurst. XC Cobra, anyone?

Also because Holden is under GM and Ford AU is under Ford. It's not like they're two tiny companies run by Tom and Larry.

Holden also produces some of the best value-for-money cars in the world. The Americans and their Pontiacs and the English and their Vauxhalls are based off many Holdens. The most obvious is Pontiac GTO and Vauxhall VXR, which are both Commodores.

In addition, the HSV Clubsport (which is Holden) was rated by Jeremy as one of the most fun cars he had ever driven.

The Pontiac GTO is a Monaro.
The Pontiac G8 is a Commodore.

i have only found the monaro so far, what other australian cars are there?

Good to see I'm not alone here! Where have you guys been?

The monaro is my favourite Aussie car of all time so it's a shame to see it as a standard model. That said I have been looking for it in the used car lot but haven't found it yet. Please tell me it looks ok...

But yeah bathurst IMO is a serious omission. I would rank it as one of the top 5 circuits in the world. And V8 Supercars is probably the second best/biggest touring car series in the world behind DTM, and even that is going more the way of GT. Also V8 Supercars has just been recognised as an official FIM series so hopefully PD take notice 👍

Seems we were lucky to get any cars at all we are a very small country in the grand scheme of things. i think turn 10 have some kind of licence with holden as they had the ve walkinshaw in their dlc. The holdens/gto are some of the best looking standards imo.

reporting for duty.

i feel weird that whenever i see an aussie car i have to buy it. got the monaro, commodore and waiting around for any fords. dont ever drive them but i need 'em!

The Pontiac GTO is a Monaro.
The Pontiac G8 is a Commodore.

Sorry, my bad, that's what I meant :) - I noticed you're in USA with a Holden avatar? Good to see even Americans are recognizing us properly and not claiming Pontiac ;)

The holdens/gto are some of the best looking standards imo.

I disagree, the Monaro is ok, but the Commodore looks horribly modeled/textured. Of course, it's WAY better than some of the other standards though.

Has anybody actually seen the Falcon? Even in a race or anything?

I saw the Falcon, in a race, once.

Yeah, in the GT World Championship... Started a few spots ahead of my B-Spec guy, and kept ending up as a hood ornament for my Mazda 787b Stealth after the start.

It seems pretty slow in comparison to the Japanese Touring and Super GT cars.

Sydney player here ;) I agree v8 supercars are far more interesting than Nascar imo. I mean they are plastic shells going around in circles. We have modified production cars going around some of the best tracks in the world. When I saw they had a Nascar element in GT5 I seriously rolled my eyes immediately thinking oh great there's a money maker if I ever saw one. Lets open up GT to the American market to make an extra 1 billion dollars. ffs The rest of the world couldn't car less about Nascar, don't they get that? lol

Ad me PSN 'Trustfire'

Did you pay any attention to how it went?

Yep. Horribly. But it's an Australian car, so in my mind, it put up the best effort and is totally worth the purchase. :)

Also, they're not really modified production cars anymore. Back in the old days of HQ Monaros and GTHO Phase IIs, then yes, modified production cars. But these days, they're purpose built, the shape just resembles the two manufacturers that keep the great sport going.

Also, also:

'nuff said! :dopey:

EDIT: Also, also, also: This one actually happened at the racetrack near me, I can see Calder Park from where I live :) - I can hear the drag racing and drift events on Friday nights if it's quiet.

That's what makes it so good as a race series.

I know someone who was a car builder ( Greg Murphy's car ) a few years back. Holden supplied them a primer painted commodore body, That's it.

That body gets a roll cage, then everything else is there to make it fast.

DTM's gave up the manufactor's body 10 or 15 years ago. Good racing from what I've seen.

Nascars are got to be having a major laugh when they call some of their things "Toyota Camry" FFS. :dunce:

Pity that PD have reduced the Aussie car content. Some Aussie 70's muscle cars would have been great.

A Brock 05 Commodore would have been nice. +1 too on Bathurst and the Adelaide V8 track. I'm in San Jose now but still consider myself an Aussie through and through.

I reckon, sign me up for R&D. Last car I drove around Mount Panorama was a Toyota Hiace loaded with 10 people and I nearly had it on 2 wheels going through Forrest's elbow.

In fact PD, you don;t even have to pay me 👍

For those that are interested, I just read that Need for Speed SHIFT Unleashed will have Bathurst :) ... Here's hoping for a few Aussie cars too.

We need to get Kaz down here to watch some V8s. Should we all pitch in and pay for his plane ticket? :p

I agree Bathurst should be on there, but there are plenty of very famous tracks around the world that are not in GT5 such as Pike's Peak hill climb, Isle of Mann, some very very famous F1 tracks etc. My point is, yes Bathurst is legendary and loved by 4-5 million aussies, but some of those other places in the game are loved by 20-30 million people...
