Sorry I'm a bit late on posting this, but I have to put at least 400 more miles on the WRX before the 21st (autocross) and I was out having a joyride. Anywho! On to the rules!

The Track: Cote D' Azur or Monaco
The Car: Any Mazda Miata can be used for this race.

Wall taps are allowed! However, they can only be minor, and do add on to your final time. Not only will you be losing time from hitting the wall, but you will also have to report how many times you hit the wall. For each wall tap, two seconds will be added to your total time.

You will stage at the second gate! Get the car so the front of the car is on the line. No need to fret about perfect placement, just a good honest try at it.

The car catagories have been reduced to three, Stock, Street Touring and Street Prepared. You are not limited to enter in only one class, but the car is limited to the modifications. The following is a mix between real SCCA rules and keeping it somewhat fair.

Stock:
Sport Suspension
Sport Muffler and Air Cleaner
Sport Tires

Street Touring:
Semi-Sport Suspension
Sport Brakes
Semi-Racing Muffler and Air Cleaner
Stage One NA
Racing Chip
T5 Tires
Leightweight Stage 1

Street Modified:
All modifications allowed.

Miata Madness:
Not a real SCCA class, but you may choose to place a RX-7 engine in the Miata with no modification restrictions.

There really is no middle ground between Street Touring and Street Modified, but it seems to be that way by a quick glance at the rules.

Feel free to post your times (final and "T" sector) here, but your not obligated to. When you wish to submit a time to place on the leader board, please PM me with the time, Miata used and class. If you are participating in the Street Modified class or Miata Madness and don't use all the allowed modifications, please include what modifications you did preform. When submitting what Miata you used, simply old (pop-up headlights) or new (non-pop-up headlights) is sufficent.

One more thing. To get a bit more of the SCCA feel, you can register a number. First come, first serve basis.

That should be all... for now! See you at Monaco!

How many laps are you doing?
Two second penalty? So, basically, no wall touches. :D
What is, "your second time"?

Oh. . . I already have the perfect car for this :D What a wonderful race this is going to be :D

I believe it's as many laps as you wish BUT each lap must be run individually from a standing start. No "flying" laps.

There's a 2-second penalty per cone you hit during an autocross run. I believe 5 cones in a given run = DNF.

I believe he means the 2-second-per-cone penalty will be added to the number of elapsed seconds in your run.

Goomba, I don't mean to be stepping on your toes here, and please correct me if I'm wrong. I just think I know what you're shooting for here so I figured I'd answer the questions.

#99 please, What can I say? Gretsky is one of my heros.

Oliver, listen to Duke, he knows what I'm talking about. ;) Only thing is I have no idea what I meant by "second time". I think I meant total.

Duke, no toes were stepped on, I couldn't of said it better myself.

All numbers have been posted.

[shameless bump]

Our first time has been submitted by Sleek Stratos, who is currently the Street Modified leader.

Okie Dokie, I'm on it.

I'd like to register #44, #11, #69, #77, #101

If I can't have that many #'s, then just give me #44. :D

I believe my Miata has some 340 horses. I'm pretty sure, but I'll check when I get a chance anyways.

I'll take #19 if I get a chance to run this.:D

My PS2 has been getting lots and lots of disc read errors and I think it's about ready to die on me:(

I'll be campaigning two cars: first, my Mediterranean Blue C Stock Miata LS, recently won from golding the B License. Since the MX-5 is not eligible for Street Touring (two-seaters are specifically excluded), I'll also be running my Sunburst Yellow C Street Prepared Miata LS, built up from its original victory in the Spec Miata enduro. I haven't decided whether or not to dabble in Street Modified 2 using my first GT3 car, a highly modified 1.8 litre first-gen Miata which has lots of goodies but is not fully sorted.

I've gotten about 5 practice runs in in the HS car, using a first-pass suspension adjustment. So far my best runs are:

1':58.854" with 1 cone, for a total of 2':00.854"
1':59.970 on a clean run.

Just for reference, I've been lining up in the #2 grid spot as directed by the Starter, with the white line just visible across the bottom of my windshield from the in-car view.

Goomba, I have to thank you - this is a blast and I'm really looking forward to getting enough time to make a decent showing at the Nats.

Put me down for #190. This is the number my M3 wore IRL in 2000 when I bagged ESP champ for my chapter ;)

I think I'll run a stock car first, see if I can get on pace.

Okay, all numbers posted and times updated.

CFM, I say shoot the PS2 before it dies on you. :) Best of luck with that.

Duke, I'm glad your having fun with this. H-Stock for a Miata? I thought the 1.8s were in C-Stock and the 1.6s were in E. Congrats on taking over 1st place too. You taught that young punk Boom a good lesson!

D'oh! You're right. I was looking at an out-of-date Class table. I'll switch the magnetics right now...

Little real life update, seeing as how the WRX only has 800 miles on it right now, I really don't feel comfortable racing with that few miles. The owners manual says 1,000 miles, but I just would like to baby it to at least 1,500 if not my planned 2,000 miles. Instead I'll be able to get a chance to race my father's car. Yup, you guessed it.

A 1995 Mazda Miata.

Should be fun, and I'll bring the WRX along, but just to show off to a few people that I've made aquaintences with through autocrossing. Hopefully the Miata won't be so fun as to where I'd want to sell the WRX.

I ran my LS in the Stock class, I'm running a best of 2'03:413.
Once, I get the old DS2 hooked up, I may cut some more time.
I've been running with a Mad Catz, Mini controller. And it just isn't as sensitive as the DS2.

Took me a while, and I apologize, but I just got your time up. I finally threw a stock Miata (same color, pop up headlight generation, and wheels that I'll be driving on the 21st). I had a 2'01.328. It won't let me save the replay though.... Why?

Also, Congrats Gil, on taking third place away from Boom!

Something seems amiss to me here. Have I really gotten this rusty? ;)

Why won't it let you save your lap Mike, I was able to save my laps.

EDIT: Was there a change to the stock rules. I ran a "stock" Miata. No mods what so ever. I didn't see that we could use the following:

Stock:
Sport Suspension
Sport Muffler and Air Cleaner
Sport Tires

My bad, I thought stock meant no mods at all. :banghead:

I'm thinking the memory card slot is acting funny. It wasn't reading the second one at all. Hope my dear little PS2 is okay.

This is what you get for having a life and doing other things besides GT3.

EDIT: No, no change. Stock is a relative term. Try again boomy.

Hi, Boom! I got woken up and rather than disturb my wife trying to get back to sleep, I just came downstairs where I could have the PS2 to myself.

S'funny what 40 extra HP will do. I'm running 2-gen cars... I got a few more laps in during the wee smalls. I ran about 5 more in the blue CS car, with a best of 1':59.188". I know I'm throwing away time in this car by over-or under-braking at certain points. It's amazing how this track opens up when you get your turn-ins right.

Then I got out the yellow CSP car. Built to specs above, pushing 219 hp (a good number for this car), my clean best after 3 runs in it is 1':53.474". I'm looking forward to dialing this one in a tad better and getting my driving squared away.

And I thought I was faster than you for once because you were using a "lesser" Miata.

I'll register #3 for my firts OLR race :)

Best time so far in stock category: 1'59.713" with a 172hp ls
(with a logitech driving force).
