Since I drive a Dodge Caravan, I am not really sure which one of these categories I fit in. Maybe Economy+?

thank you! its not intended to be a statistically accurate power scale, just to see where one would fall in the performance category, its supposed to be taken lightly
 
According to 0-60 and top speed mine would be Sports car + (no idea what 1/4 is).

Probably about right I guess for a "hot Hatch"
 
Economy+ with an Economy top speed.


Economy does not describe 15 very slow miles per gallon :lol:

I've put Sportscar.
Only cause the car I'm usually taken to school in is a Mercedes CLK-55 AMG (Grandad's).

That's further down the food chain.... "Don't have a car" is below "Just".

Vmax: 170-185


My 69 Camaro fits the Sports Car+ category.
My 05 Subaru Impreza fits the sports car category.
 
I went for economy+

Never timed the 0 - 60 but did once reach a top speed of 225 km/h (139 mph)

What about quarter mile or 0-60, and not to mention maneuverability, even though thats not part of the criteria, and also you don't "drive" a space shuttle, and it cant qualify for hyper-CAR

Kind of feeling you there... the last two "sports cars" I drove fall under "Economy +", while the last diesel luxury sedan I drove was a "Sports Car"... also an SUV and a seven-seater van... :D

Not sure I would agree with the 0-60 times, sub 9 secs puts you in hot hatch/sports car territory to me, sub 7 puts you in very fast car.

A 6.9 0-60 hasn't been a "very fast car" since the early 90s.

It is round here! In the real world and on the open road anything sub 8 is very quick. Most cars are designed to do max mpg and comfort for the least money.

Besides, 0-60 is useless. 30-70 is a much better indicator of useful performance.

Yeah... pretty ironic coming from someone who tests 0-100 km/h times for a living, eh? :lol:

But they are meaningless. Because there are trucks that can do the numbers faster than many sports cars, despite not being sporty enough to see off a decent "warm" hatch on a racetrack.
 
It's funny, those trucks could probably pull my car through the quarter mile faster than my car can itself. :lol:

I suppose I drive an economy and an economy+, works for me!

My Scion xD is apparently trying to break into the sports-car category, going by the data supplied by Car & Driver. Don't worry, I laughed first.
 
'Economy +' basically describes my car's entire existence, to be honest. Particularly as I tend not to think of it as 'the sportier' version so much as 'the more bearable' one.
 
Economy+ here too. 9.5 to 60mph, and 115mph-odd top end. And it even gets around 37mpg US, which over there would be enough to make it an actual economy car.

Incidentally, my old Miata which was actually a sports car, wouldn't be a sports car in this list.

And my 74 Beetle falls under "Just...", since it does 60 in 20-seconds plus and a little shy of 80mph max...
 
Sports car. Though in its current condition I dont drive it hard ever.

Does it help any that my 86 subaru XT has a better coefficient of drag than a modern corvette, and gets 42 mpg on the highway?
 
My little Civic is econo, but I'm currently looking at a 300ZX that could put me in sports or sports+
 
My Mini has a 'Just...' 0-60 time (~20 seconds), but an 'Economy'/'Economy+' 1/4 time (20.5 seconds @ 62mph). Went with 'Just...' as I'm fairly certain it doesn't do 80. I've got no figures for the Land Rover yet, although if it's faster than the Mini I'll be amazed.
