Can you pit, and change drivers, during non-endurace races ?

Also, if you've raced with two drivers, do they both get the XP for the race, or half the XP each ?

It occured to me that last night Bob1 was walking a 10 lap race at the high speedring, lapping the other drivers in my Minolta. I'd easily have enough time to pit and change drivers twice, so three drivers could get XP. So the question is, does the race XP get shared out, or do they all get as much as one driver would ?

No driver swaps in non-endurance races. I haven't tried it. But, in the pre-race screen you are asked to select a starting driver. And, since you can only bring one driver to non-endurance events, it's simple math. I'll let someone else respond to the rest of your questions.

I've not got to that stage myself, but others mentioned earlier in the thread that the full XP is given to all of the drivers, so it is a good way to very quickly level up newer B-Spec drivers...

Their levels will go up quickly but their experience does not seem to move up much in the endurance races. It seems experience is based on the number of races I think. It's so hard to tell what these AI Bobs are up to. lol

I had to laugh at myself last night. My 3rd driver (a level 4)was running the Roadster race. His best finish in that event to date was 10th. This time, he was running exceptionally better than previous attempts and was holding onto 8th position. He managed to fight off a faster car through the turns and was barely beating the contender to the breaking zones at the ends of the straights. With two laps to go I told him to pace up.

I had been keeping him calmed with pace down commands to this point. His stress meter jumped into the red almost immediately. So, I paced down but he still stayed at about the 70% mark on the meter but managed to pick up 3 positions! I was getting excited.👍 On lap 9 he was maintaining a fairly high stress level with a decent racing line. That is, the back end of the car was slipping out a little more but he was holding good speed and gaining on 4th place. :idea:I made a commande decision and told him to pace up, hoping to add to his success.

That was a poor decision:tdown:. On the 2nd to last turn before the longest straight, he lost control and put the car into a complete 180 degree spin. The competition sped by and he limped to the finish in 10th position once again. After the race I observed his composure to be a down orange arrow where before the race it was a horizontal green arrow. I guess my poor decision making and his lack of skill combined to be too much for his post-race composure as he wouldn't talk to the press and went straight to the hauler.

I usually throw my new drivers in the Zonda R or McClaren Stealth and let em run Daytona, they hit Lv 10 pretty quick....and USUALLY always come in first.

Still no word on being able to NOT change tires in a Pit I guess?

I haven't progressed that far as my B-spec level is 12 (I think). My guys are in the Amatuer events. And, I make my cash through A-spec presently. With B-spec, I get to enjoy just being an observer (although vested) of some good close racing.

Welcome to the team Richard B. :)

I just did the first endo race with one new bob and he went from level 0 to level 14 in one race. race took 2hr and earned 68k in xp so i think im going to grind with this race since i could leave them alone for at least a while. I only have to check on the fuel since that is the only thing i noticed does not change automatic in the pit strategy. the only down side is there is not that much cash won in the race only 23k. but want the xp for my X-1.

Wow, so I'm pretty pissed. Just did my first race in the Super GT. Using the Toyota 7 and I was stomping the competition. The only thing that upsets me is that the pit stop menu isn't clear on the whole strength thing..I chose 90% strength when I pitted and it did nothing. Now there's 3 laps left and I'm in 4th place with a driver stuck at zero strength. what's the point of the level of strength in the pit stop menu?

Bob just pushed a rival car into the pit lane. Haha, it was so funny.

It was an amateur race at cape ring and Bob was in 2nd taking an inside line on the hairpin before the entrance to the pit lane. As he was exiting the corner, he slammed/nudged/pushed the 1st placed car into the grass and into the pits.

:dopey:

You should set your pit stop to 10%. That way your driver will stay out till the last bit of strength. If i am watching the race I push him for at least another 5 laps after his strength is gone.

Do I need to grind earlier events to get my Bob up to the point where he doesn't crash all the time? He's currently at level 9 and spins on every corner when his bar is even vaguely in the red.

I'm finding it annoying that he can't even come close to winning events that I walked away with - it's not like I'm that good a driver either, I'm average, at best!

Ehm, I have no problem with leaving the Pit-In Strength Level to Off and let them run with no physical strength!
My drivers drive until the tires need to change or gas needed to be filled! Else it would go to much time on pit-stops!

Scouser, the best advice is to put him on the best tyres allowed for the event.

Also, it seems that he need experience of that type of car, eg FF/FR etc.

If he's spent all his career in a FF, and you put him in a FR he will spin loads.

Just bear with it, he does get better.

Ah, that could have been the issue last night - I gave her ("Bob" is so tempremental, it has to be a "her") an MR for the first time and it was spinning like a top on every corner. Practice, practice practice seems to be the key...

I had a similar experience with my 2nd driver last night, S. Carrol. I put him in my 1971 Mach I and entered him into the Muscle Car event at the Daytona Road Course. He was a level 9 at the time. I think the car was too much for him to handle at first. It didn't help that he was driving a beast with only Comfort Soft tires (required for the event). He improved and after 4 or 5 attempts managed to win the race handling the car with proper throttle control and good corner exits. It just took him some time to get a handle on so much power.

One thing Yamauchi would say with conviction is that Gran Turismo 5 will have online races for B Spec mode. He wouldn't give an exact time frame, but said that this is something he's personally wanted to do.

Nice driver lineup Sander H!

Would love to see how Mr LeMans , T. Kristensen from my stable fairs against one of them online!

I got Spiderman to drive for me. P. Parker! I saw a C(ourtney) Cox and J(avier) Hernandez (Man Utd player) but rolled the dice a few times more. Gave him a red suit and white helmet :)

In addition to giving B-spec drivers short-term tactical commands, it would be nice to be able to assign them a long-term strategy for the race, instead of having to babysit them for every sector of a lap. Or even something like assigning a default behaviour given a specific race condition. If you tell him to speed up on the straights and slow down on technical sections for 4-5 consecutive laps, you think he'd kind of get clue and figure out what you're trying to tell him.

Genius!... PD listen up!

I just reached level 20 B-spec and started a 5th driver. I entered him into the PD Cup in my Gallardo and even though he trashed my Lambo he managed to win the event and jumped 6 levels in experience point. 2 more races and he should be a pro!

I wish all B-spec driver were this easy to train. ;)

Try the European Championship and a Zonda R onnce you're entering the Extreme events :dopey:

Doesn't matter if he runs out of strenght, even a level 0 driver with no strength left will win this in a Zonda R - considering that the best car the AI will bring is the Renault Sport Clio :sly:

I just finished B-Specing a Super GT race on Fuji. I entered my best driver and a rookie in my Stealth NSX GT500. So it was a fairly even race. Talk about a battle to finish line, finished in first by 6 seconds, and my lead driver had no strength and mental left, tyres were worn out and he was sliding on every corner :)

I could have entered my Mazada 787b, but where the fun in that?!

My A. Lim Bob is turning out to be quite the racer. It was impressive to see him smoke the tyres in every corner on the last two laps in Monaco and still manage to not only hold off the Chaparral behind but also gain two places. A.Lim is much better than B. Roth and the more or less useless L.Cox who always without fail lets the driver he just passed regain his position when braking into the next corner..

I wish there was a way that I could keep him going all day while I'm at work. Grinding the lower levels is a pain.
