Yea Bob seems to be doing fine now he just pitted from the lead after just lapping 2nd place a third time on the in lap and came out with the lead as well. I took my first pit stop at lap 34...should be good to stop just about every sixth of the race. Here are some stats about my race so far in a 1000hp+ Minolta.

Average Lap Time: 43.5s
In-lap: 2:02.675
Out-lap: 1:01.530

2-02.675 i'll bet that was 98 Ltrs of Fuel

Yup. I'm hoping by the end of the race I have a few laps in hand or a bit of fuel in hand.

I don't know how else to do the race. My 908 is nowhere near fast enough to win this and I don't have an Audi.

The 6th (crist how many more before i get to level 30 fgs) Running of the Indy 500

Here's the Latest Race News hot off the PS3

Lap 176 Bob Pits 2hrs 20mins and 33secs with a 3 Lap Lead . 1min 22sec Fuel Stop

177 Bob leaves the Pits with a 2 lap lead

Meanwhile PS3 Owner sits here posting stuff on here and hasn't bothered to do any button Mashing life is good

You will win, but don't put anything else than race soft tyres, because currently the hard and medium tyres worth nothing in comparison, because they wear as fast (if not faster) than the soft tyres, with few exceptions, and are quite slower.

99L of fuel put in the car this time around. LOL. I do NOT want to run out, but I don't want to pit too early either. Ugh! I hope this time is not wasted.

That... Sir... Was...

AWESOME.

U.First, U.Goon, U.Wannamaker, and N.Egger are working on their 4th Indy 500 as we speak. Lap 117/200 and I'm catching up to the leader after my pit stop, 8 second gap. I have 4 Audi R8s that are all pitting at the same time, and are running some serious lap times when I'm all alone. I refuse to pace up, as I am playing Starcraft II custom maps while I wait.

My Lap times aren't anywhere as good as you guys, I'm hardly ever getting 42/43s, usually running 44-49 depending on traffic or if I'm all alone. Did you guys throw any tune or anything on it? I did all the upgrades possible and keep the oil changed after each 500 Mile'er. All I did was...

Ladies and Gentlemen, U.First has just taken over the lead, did you see that move? I think we heard him yell "Sling shot... engaged!". The cheers from the grand stands are deafening. What was that? What'd you say? Oh sure I'll continue.

... Ugh... Oh. All I did was change the down force to higher and extend the max speed to somewhere around 265, because I'm actually hitting 257 or so if I get a nice draft.

I just ran Indy 500 with one bob in FGT and went fine he was a 22 and didnt seem to have any problems. Only pitted for gas using hard racing tires.

Another single bob on the track now.

Guys how hard is this race to win with a minolta, could I leave my level 20 bob to it or would I have to prompt him, or could you get away with prompts every 10-15 mins.

I've been using the MINOLTA the entire time, and have 5 races now. I've used 4 guys every time, so I don't know how just one will hold up in it. But each race has gotten better for me. If you watch it, you'll be scared because you don't really get a huge lead until all the pits cycle through.

You should win however, just because you're only pitting 6 times when the computer is pitting 7 or 8. Set a timer for 2 hours and come back as you should be around the 140-155 lap. If you're leading you should be fine (they have to pit 2 times from here and you only have to once).

Just watch and make sure he wins. No way you should lose if you're leading after lap 180, where you usually go a lap or 3 up after the last pit cycle. If he isn't... he'll be better next time. If he needs a little babysitting for 30 minutes to insure the win, he shouldn't need it next time.

Anyone ran this one with the 908 in B-Spec? Don't have the Minolta yet, and been waiting for the FGT to cycle.

I do have the 908, but im only in lvl 26. I think its possible to win with it, but the 908 have 100 bhp less than the minolta (when they are both fully tuned) so i think it would be slower.

Is that the case in A-spec too? 19 out of 20 times the leading with 10 or 20 laps to go doesn't wind, would take away a huge part of the excitement if that is really the case.

I had 4 bobs, level 29, 25,25, 24 and used a fully tuned Toyota Minolta.
Luckily for me i have a horipad turbo 3, which has a autofire function, where it can be left constantly pressing any button i have chosen without me doing anything. I set it to pace up, and come back after a couple of hours.

Thats something that is nice in the FGT it is so light It hardly burns any gas, it goes for a long time before needing gas and gets plenty far enough ahead that it doesnt matter how long it pits for.

27 laps without bob stopping in an FGT :D

Wow 4 bob's at level 20+... that is crazy. the highest i have is 21 and a level 20, after that its just 17, and a n00b bob

I let my Bobby's (28,22,22,22) run the 908 last night, and they came in 7th - about a minute behind the leader. It can win, but I think it'll take babysitting which I'm not willing to do for an endurance race.

Looks like I've gotta wait for the FGT to come up to do this unassisted. Cycling those damn license tests has me seriously considering a SSD upgrade...

just done the Indy 500 in b-spec (Bobs in lvl: 28, 24,23 and 22), in my FGT. Time: 2 hours and 35 minutes (AFK, so they were cold), and i won by 10 laps down to number 2. Easy with the FGT :)

Question:

How is it your Bobs aren't braking in Turn 3 and S/F line? This has always been a big problem at Indy track?

I use my level 29 Bob with my Nissan R92c. He runs the whole race by himself, wins it everytime. :) I have a one of those turbo controllers, so i just put a rubberband over the X button. And use "Pace Up" the whole race lol. 👍

In A spec indy 500 in fgt I was managing 39 laps a tank and the tyres were still 50%, anyone got a fuel burn figure for bob in this race?
