B-Spec Seasonals: The Car Sharing Thread

Hey all - First off, apologies if this is in the wrong place, but it occurs to me that there are still quite a few people looking for a car to win the Le Sarthe event with (as well as other B-spec seasonal events).

I've seen several people offering to share their winning cars - and Famine has a fantastic post sharing winning strategies! - but I thought it might be easier and quicker if we had a single thread (a clearinghouse, if you will) where those in need can look to see who's sharing, and what they've got on offer.

I'm offering cars which have won for me, and a couple which haven't if anyone wants to try their luck with them to see if they can win.

Here's what's currently shared on my account:

Chapparal 2J - Two of 'em. Both with fresh oil changes and rebuilds, but one shows 809hp and the other, 803hp. Both have won this event more than a few times.

Nissan R92CP - I've gotten close with this one, but haven't won with it that I can remember.

Audi R8 '01 - This one's a proven winner.

Audi R8 Team Playstation '05 - Haven't won with it, but it should be capable.

Audi R10 '09(?) - Again, haven't won with it, but it's got bags of diesel-y torque (which may be a drawback given the way Bob shreds rear tires!)




So who else is sharing? Post up what you've got! Let's make it our goal to see everyone who wants to win this event and bag the 3,000,000 or more credits get what they're after!

And if you need to borrow a car, just send a friend request to "Kwicko" on PSN. I ask nothing in return - no gifts, no tickets, no nothing - but would prefer if people would "pay it forward" by posting their winning cars for others to share.

Also, if there's any other car(s) you'd like to try, let me know and I'll see what I can do. If I've got 'em, I'm sharing 'em.

I was able to beat Sarthe with the audi 05. Progar08 is my psn id. The car is set up per posts from earlier. When I get home today I will change the oil and rebuild if necessary. Bobs were lvl 35 and 36. Changed tires lap 2 and 7 and finished with a hefty lead.

I have one to lend out also, use the current sent and pit on lap 6-7. PSN BobbyBRAKEaNEK

Use the 2J with Sports Softs, and don't pit at all! Seriously, it works.
 
dont worry mate I finally did it with the Audi R8 '05 !! wouldnt mind having a go with the 2J though to see what its about - i think ive been waiting 2 months for one to appear

Yeah, they don't come up very often. I won one on a level ticket of some sort, and then bought a zero-mile example in the OCD when it came up once, so I've got two, and that's probably enough for me. :)

Definitely - send a friend request on PSN (I'm "Kwicko" on PSN, too); I'll add you as a friend, and you can borrow whatever you need. I've got a couple R8 Audis ('01 and '05), a couple 2Js, an R10 (don't waste your time; I don't think anyones won with it), and an R92CP shared at the moment, but if there's anything else you'd like to try, just let me know and I'll share it. I think I've got all the LeMans Prototypes, Group C cars, historic racers, etc.

I just want to make sure everyone who wants it gets a crack at the prize money PD's handing out. :)

Oh, and if you need a car for the Spa seasonal, I've got those as well.
 
I'm about to head out to work, but I'll be back on the PSN in about 10 hours.
 
It would be great if I could borrow one of your Chappies since I haven't been able to win this event yet and I would really like both the cash and the L.23 ticket. I'll send you a FR, my PSN ID is Corvettefan4ever.

More than happy to help out, Dani. I can't think of anything in the game I really want or need - I just want everyone to be able to take advantage of this B-spec event.

I tried the Mercedes CLK-LM earlier, but couldn't get it higher than 4th place.

After that the level 23 ticket rewarded me a Nissan R92CP, which I didn't have yet so I'm very pleased.

Heck, the way I see it, this place is a *community*. That means we help each other out when we can, whether it be with shared cars, shared tunes, suggestions, help, sending each other cars when our data gets corrupted or our consoles die, or what have you.
 
I can share my 2J as well, just add WRECKU. I have won with this car on sport soft and also on inters. Only used one driver and never pitted. :) 👍
 
Not familiar with how car sharing works. If I'm using someones car does that mean someone else can use it at the same time? I was thinking of doing some grinding, would that be acceptable?

Yes I do believe multiple users can use it so grind away. I have just added you by the way so have fun and win some money. :)

Far as I know, if you have a car on shared status, you can have multiple people using it at the same time. I know at one point there were 21 of my PSN friends logged in at once while I had two 2Js listed as shared, so I'd guess that at least a few of them were using the Chappies. :)

Keep sharing 'em around, folks - that's what community is all about!

Meanwhile, I'll be sharing the ugliest Nissan R390 Road Car this evening when I get home - it's ugly because I painted it with Gold Chrome. I've got several examples of the 390, but only one I really drive, so I wanted to make sure I couldn't grab the wrong one by accident! :)

Anyhow, it's pretty good at the 493hp Spa time trial that just posted last night.

To bounce off of kwicko's post I now have one shared as well. Looks like someone ate some mint ice cream and...returned it.

It's really quite simple bud. Here goes

1) From the GTLife screen, click on Community
2) Find the person in your friends list who has the car you need to borrow, then click on that person's avatar
3) Click on Profiles
4) Click on the car that person has to share that you wish to borrow and then click Borrow. It will ask you if your sure you want to do this, click OK.
5) Exit out of these screens back to your original GTLife screen
6) Go to Seasonals and enter the B-spec race with the car you're now in, choose driver(s), and race away!

Thank You "turbolefty78" for this noob guide to sharing cars.But I have 1 sort of a noob question.When your done borrowing the car,how do you un-borrow it? Thanks for all the info,I am stuck on this race also,I almost won it with my R8 race car,2nd is the best I can get with a 33 bob and a 34 bob.Oh yea,my PSN ID: odie241
