how do you make a backup save file? I dont wanna duplicate cars cause im not a 10 year old just wanted to make an extra file in case something happens to my original

Press the PS button, scroll to "Game", scroll to "Saved Data Utility (PS3&#8482", scroll to GRAN TURISMO 5, press triangle, press "Copy" and select destination.

on xbm got to save file, find gt5, hit triangle and then copy to an external source.

So I went and backed up my save file like suggested. However I noticed that it was only 500 kb. I could have sworn I heard the save file was several Mb's.

Can someone verify this for me because I want to make a trade but I don't want to lose all my info by overwriting with a bad saved file that might not have saved all data.

Mine was around 420kb... perfectly normal.

I had a power outage while the game was saving and it corrupted my save data. Luckily I had recently made a backup and I only lost 1 car. I now have my PS3 plugged into a UPS, and it has already saved the day twice. 👍

Whew that's good news!

So I'm assuming that because y'all have different file sizes it's due to either have more or less cars than me, maybe being in a different spot in A/B Spec and other items included. Correct?

Yes, museum cards, etc. all can bloat the size of the files.

Museum cards, Items, Parts....anything you can gift that is sitting in your profile in card/ticket form takes up the most space on your profile...especially those 🤬 museum cards that I got 10 of each day. Then when you watch them...they take up space on the HD. Its a lose lose. I believe its so small because the games loads the stagnent information at start-up and things like license and trophy progression are linked to your PSN

PS: did you know the profile for IL2: Birds of Prey is 8x larger than gt5 and 41X larger than fairy tale fights. Just useless information for you'll to disregard after reading
