Why does GT4 have concept cars like the TMTC or whatev.
Throw the freckin' concept crap out the window and add some 80's DTM mobile's!
I don't like cars which sound like a hairdryer. God ol' turbocharged BMW growl's
hi reving ITR screams is the only thing that's good enough.

So what if the concept are equipped with iDrive or Drive-by-wire or what-ev-er.
They're still slow, untuneable and ugly. I mean look at Toyota POD. It sounds like they're beating up R2D2!

This is something Kazunori should know with his racing license and all.
 
NO! :irked: It's great to see a concept and actually see it in motion as well as driving it.
 
I like prototypes and concept cars so I beg to differ....

They are ugly and slow as h*ll. GT4 doesn't need them!

I think you're being to broad on the subject anyway...

What sort of concepts do you want banned?

Personally I want them in... all in...

But do you just want all the non-fossil fuel concepts banned?

Personally I would like to keep the concepts; it was one of the main reasons for getting GT:C.

As for them all being slow, WTF?

Just to add to the two pointed out already (the TVR Speed 12 and BMW M5 Concept) don't forget the Honda HSC.

Concept cars have played a major role in the development of the car and motorsport and have a place in the GT series (but I guess GT:C already proved that point).

I don't see the problem with them myself. I've never worked out how PD know how they handle, seeing as most of them haven't even been built as a fully working car yet. I'm guessing they just go by what the manufactour says.

At the end of the day, if people don't like them in the final game, don't drive them. there are plenty of cars that will be in GT4 that I don't like, like the tatty Audi TT, but you might as well put it into the final game as there will be plenty of people who will enjoy driving that car(s).

Technically, its the Honda HSC. Since we only get the NSX over here as an Acura in name. Its all JDM Honda just with the Acura badges and name everywhere instead of Honda. Not rippin on ya, just clearing up that technicallity. :) 👍

It's being billed as the replacement to the NSX now so for North America we get the Acura stamp. But in Japan and lots of other places Acura doesn't exist... all those models are Hondas (i even remember when my uncle got his first Acura right when they were introduced and the engine block still had Honda badging on it)

As for Concepts... a must keep! The chances of driving any of these cars in real life for a commoner is impossible, so it's great to at least get a crack in GT. The Viper concept was awesome... looked so mean and was a beast... and a pleasure to drive. Nissan Z Concept, HSC, the VW W12... these are the cars that a lot of people drool over at autoshows... and they rightfully belong in GT.

I still don't get these threads for EXCLUSION of cars... INCLUSION of as many vehicles as possible in my books... choice is choice! If you don't like it, don't drive it.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye.. I was about to throw a "Worst Thread Ever" stamp in here.. We want MORE cars, not less....
 
There is some cool concept cars too:
-[C]Honda Dualnote/Acura DNX
-[C]Toyota MTRC 'Triatlon'
-[C]Dodge Copperhead (aka. Dodge Conceptcar in both GT1 and GT2)

And hey back in GT3, the [R]Evo VII and [R]WRX rally cars are both concept cars too along with the [C]Nissan Z Concept.

All that needs to be said 👍 What's wrong with concept cars since so many normal cars start out as them? PD can put whatever cars they want in the game cos in most cases we wont be forced into driving them. (Praying... Dont let there be a POD endurance on the Nurb.) I have to agree though that the sound of some (not all) cars is not all that great, even on faster concepts.
 
As for inclusion/exclusion of cars, just remember each car takes a certain length of time to make. So if car A is in the game, it is less likely car B will be.

So excluding some cars would most likely include some others. :)
 
Zoxxy, I got respect for you, as you are one of the cool kids online for GTP. What I don't respect is banning concept cars. Doesn't it tick you off to not have a street car version of the Mazda RX-8 and Nissan 350Z in Gran Turismo 3? Now sure, a reason to get rid of them is because they are expensive. That's about it. Other than that, why ban them?

After all, concept cars are not street cars, but they can still be used for competition purposes. I remember playing a PC game demo of "X-Car Experimental Racing." The cars were completely fiction, but they looked more like concept cars or of high-dollar GT1 racers. So, get rid of concepts, and we'll have no idea as to what the cars would perform as when their streetcar version is released (if at all).

So if I were Polyphony Digital, I'd keep the concepts even if they are "slow," or "ugly," or whatever. I'm not saying I have all the answers, but those are my views.

Why exclude cars? And ones that mean so much to the auto induistry? And there are plenty that perform well. Add to that, pretty much every car starts life as a concept, so your saying never include and models not yet out like the 350Z and RX-8 in GT3 which were two of the better cars to drive in that game.
 
I think zoxxy had a a bad dream or something. This thread is not very useful. Less is never better.

T5-R Thats not completly true. They seem to add as much as they can not want they want(what they want makes it in basically). It comes down to what the player wants.
Someone saying one more concept is one less sports car isnt really true. One more Skyline(24) is one less Lancer(19) then. You can say that about any 2 cars. In the end it doesnt make allota since when you keep going on . But I could be wrong. What do I know eh.....
 
How can the game get better if it is removed cars from it? :confused:
If theres a car i dont like, i dont drive it.
 
What the h3ll. If a car is ugly or slow or not it doesn't mean it can't be competitive or raced with.
I don't see any reason to exclude any kind of cars from a driving/racing simulator, especially this one called Gran turismo. Ridge racers and other arcade **** are totally different thing, they're aimed for people who just want to win without worrying about the details in racing and driving.. :dunce:
 
yes we need all the concepts, its the only chance we get to ever try them out. Come on now, how could you not love em? !! :)
 
I think Zoxxy just doesn't want the MTRC in the game, it put a bad taste in his mouth for some reason...

By they way, isn't it technically improper to say "Honda HSC"? It's like saying "ATM Machine." So shouldn't it be "Honda SC" or just "HSC"? Because it's silly to say "Honda Honda Sports Concept."
