Todt: We Were Wrong To Let Haswell Go.

Jean Todt has revealed his true feelings towards the loss of the team's number 1 driver Blake Haswell for next season.

Speaking at Suzuka he had this to say: "Blake is a very special driver indeed and perhaps it was a mistake to let him go. I am sure he will be competitive for years to come. But now we must look forward to our new signings and be sure of making progress during the Winter testing."

This follows Blake's stearling performance in qualifying where he took pole by almost half a second. Championship leader Yuuji Kawasie starts a lowly 17th.

Hill: Davidson should have stayed with Honda

Former Williams driver and World Champion, Damon Hill, yesterday gave his opinions on the current situation of the season which draws to a close later today. Hill has also stated some predictions for next season, with current Honda driver Lee Davidson being the focus of his comments.

"In my view, Davidson should never have accepted the contract with McLaren, and rather stay with Honda. Look at the current season standings and its clear that Honda has the better package."

Davidson, who has been with the Honda outfit since his entry into Formula 1, has been keeping the team afloat after it was revealed Marc Pianelli was retiring from motorsport and no reserve driver was called up. Davidson goes into the final race of the season 12th in points, AHEAD of the two McLarens.

And so Season 3 draws to a close. Too bad I was 2 points short.

Of the constructors' championship, anyway. As for drivers' championship...

Congrats to Ferrari on the constructors', both of you (Haswell and Trendell) really were a challenge throughout the season. Beyens made me think at the end, finishing with another win...if he had been just a little bit closer, I'd be in deep trouble. Took 2nd away from Blake with 72 pts.

Don't know what to say right now...I'll post back when I'm not busy getting slammed in the post-season drivers' party :lol:

A podium in the final '06 race sees me finish the season in P6, the same position I finished the only other time I've driven a Super Aguri.

In other news, I've qualified 13th for the guinea pig series Bathurst race. Nobody knows what the hell is going on with the tyres though - the race is the same number of laps as Sandown because the track is exactly twice the length, but the tyre wear per lap looks identical at this stage. I guess we'll have to wait for tomorrow to see who blows tyres due to wear or who lowers the tyre wear slider too much and laps slow.

My team mates in champcar are getting worse by the day. Team member 3 has logged on, driven 1 lap, then left again without setting up his car. Team member 2 is refusing to play a good team mate and hand over setup data. Their loss as I'm so much faster it's not funny.
