lol, dude
i don't understand how you guys get spot ons in the first tries...
normally, I get nothing

the engineers advice tends to help me quick a bitl

One hour to go people!

And why are those Midlands so bloody fast?

As for a V8 series: I want in.

Oh yeah, in season 2, the Toro Rossos of me and Ash actually ended up being potentially the second quickest cars (green bar)... but the brown bar (worst performance) was also the shortest... :grumpy:

This should be interesting. The last time I played as Super Aguri I placed 4th in the champ and 4th in the teams. I have high hopes for a similar result this season.

Yuuji's Race Report: Bahrain:

(lalala spoilers if you haven't watched the race yet. so go do that)

(no, really)

(ok, this must be annoying by now)

It was the perfect beginning to the year, with high hopes and qualifying positions all around. Second on the grid after a stellar quali session, I was looking forward to a great race. Unfortunately, my teammate was a little further down the order but with my car feeling perfect, it seemed like it would be a great race.

Off the line on lap 1 it was brilliant. I passed the leading Ferrari before the first turn and was in the clear. Leading the first lap! On my first lap! It was unbelievably fairytale!

And then it all slowly, slowly slipped away. I was brought back to earth - or, rather, away from it, by an accidental contact with a Honda. I was launched slightly into the air and made a nice excursion onto the grass. Luckily, I was still in the lead, but I could feel something off with the car.

This was definitely the case, as 2 laps later I had dropped four places and was just trying to stay in the points. By lap 8 I was out of the points, but hopefully still in the running.

I managed to stay in the top 10 for a good deal more time, and much of the midsection of the race was uninteresting, with cars simply pulling away from me. There was an interesting moment when the polesitter parked it in the sand on lap 21, however.

Pit stops in the order shuffled me up and down, eventually to the low 10s. Pulling out of the pits, I noticed that my recent laps were a lot quicker. It was only then that I discovered I was running a hard compound for the first half of the race. I'm going to pretend that could have influenced my final result by many places.

Things didn't really get any better as I fell back to 12th in the late stages. It got worse as I flatspotted a tire at one point and had to pit again during lap 49. Turns out my mechanics had already called off the race and went to get drunk, because I spent a lot of time in the pits sitting around watching people go by.

And that was pretty much the end of it. I finished up in 16th place, with only one running car behind me. And it was a Aguri.

I guess the only thing that can be said is better luck next time...

KAWASIE!!!!! You forgot to mention how you rammed into me like an asian in socal.

he hit me in a BMW, too. Hate +5

Good start for Honda, Midland and Ferrari. Omnis loves you really Yoshi (Fine if I call you that?) he's just ummm against BMW's ramming him up the behind. ;)

3rd for me, solid start, now to build on it and oh, Blake, what did I tell ya' bud? :p

Race report will come tomorrow night seeing as I have the British GP to attend tomorrow.

Argh I hate this game.

I'm not doing worth a crap.

Edit: In the public Champcar and F1 2006 series' I'm doing good (almost was up there in the pole position in F1 2006). In F1 '06 Public I'm Ferrari and in Champcar I'm all by myself in my created team Mid-Valley Motorsports.

I have a question,
how do the last two sections of Race strategy work?
I'm kinda confused about it

If you passed Algebra you should get it. (no hostility meant there)

It's quite easy.

For part #1:

If the safety car comes out, and it's within the number of laps you have in the box from your next pit stop, you'll go ahead and pit.

For Part #2:

If you make an unscheduled stop within the number of laps to your next scheduled stop you have in the box, you'll forget about the scheduled stop when you make the unscheduled one.

Does that help?

Burn.

Anyway, should have a better result in Sepang. Watch out in qualifying, boys. ;)

so... if I put X, I will just completely forget the schduled stop?

Well, you are now in the elite BATracer championship on GTP, expect a hard challenge. ;)

Race Report - Bahrain - Trendell Takes Win, Haswell Slips Up.

(Spoilers)

Today's Bahrain Grand Prix saw Ferrari where they were at the end of last season, on the top step of the podium. However, it was not reigning champion Blake Haswell tasting success but his new team mate Simon Trendell.

On the grid, Haswell was P1 after a stearling performance in qualifying, he was joined on the front row by newcomer Yuuji Kawasie in the BMW, deffinatley one to look out for. Honda's marc Pianell took third in his first race for the team with Trendell 4th in the second Ferrari. Elsewhere, Pianelli's team mate Lee Davidson started 7th and Jef Beyens, now of Renault, was 10th.

As the lights went out, Davidson was the big winner, jumping 4 places to 3rd place in his Honda, it was however misfortune for Pianelli in the sister Honda when contact with Kawasie sent him onto the run off area, losing 7 places. Haswell also was slow to get away, being jumped by Kawasie, Trendell and Davidson before the end of the lap, however the biggest loser at the start was Hutchison in the Renault, starting 6th he failed to get away and fell down to 20th. It was later revievled the usually fast launch system failed.

Steve Travis had to make an unscheduled stop on lap 6 with concerns of his Cosworth engine, it appeared to be fine however and he managed to rejoin the race in last. The first retirement of the race came on the very next lap when McLaren veteren Ashley Butler lost his car into turn 11 resulting in a destroyed rear and the end of his race. By lap 10, Marc Pianelli had blitzed the front of the field to take the lead, Nathan Soyfu followed through into second half a second ahead of Simon Trendell who appeared to be heavy fueled. 2 Seconds behind was Davidson who was 10 seconds ahead of the second Midland driven by Brad Horton.

Pianelli's reason behind his fast pace was shown on lap 13 when he dived into the pits for fuel and tyres, dropping him down to 6th. Hutchison done the same on lap 14 whilst running 16th, the next of the front runners to pit was Soyfu from the lead, the American set an impressive pace bagging the fastest lap at the time on lap 18, the Midland pit crew worked like clockwork and now they had to wait for the rest to pit. The next lap saw a massive suprise, Blake Haswell, season 2 champion, lost his Ferrari at the same spot as Butler did on lap 7, again the back end of the car was destroyed, Blake climbed out fine but was obviously dissapointed with his pace. Also Williams driver Steve Travis ended a nightmare weekend after driving off the track at turn 8, loosing a wheel in the process.

Simon Trendell pitted on lap 24 handing the lead over to fellow countryman Lee Davidson who was yet to pit, lap 26 saw Brett Edwards endure a tyre failure on his Super Aguri, he brilliantly kept the car under control but fell to last as he coasted back to the pits. Joining Edwards in the pits was Davidson who dived in for a manditory stop on lap 27, the amount of fuel pumped in suggested he was on a one stopper, Lee rejoined in 4th behind the 2 Midlands and race leader, Trendell. Horton was next to pit for Midland on lap 28, also on that lap Pianelli drafted past Davidson on the back straight, obviously lighter on fuel. The American eventually pitted again on lap 35 giving position back to his team mate, he came back out in 5th behind Brad Horton. The Australian then set the track alight for a couple of laps resulting in passing Davidson into turn 1. He also eventually dispatched his team mate on lap 40 to move into 2nd.

Trendell suprised everyone after pitting on lap 41 meaning he only had 17 laps of fuel for his middle stint, he however managed to keep the lead by 7 seconds. Horton made his second stop on lap 45 dropping 3 places to 5th. The positions didn't change for the rest of the race giving Trendell the win for his new team, Nathan Soyfu took a well earned second with Honda driver Lee Davidson a strong third, followed hom by his team mate Marc Pianelli in 4th. Horton took 5th then a gap of 26 seconds before 6th placed Jason Richards took home points for Red Bull. Jef Beyens was 7th with McLaren driver Christopher Ownes in a good showing netting 8th in his first race. Although Ferrari won the race, they are infact 3rd in the constructors, behind Honda (2nd, 11 points) and Midland (1st, 12 points).

Next up for the drivers in Malaysia, known for it's extremes in weather, it's certain to spring up some suprises.

Man I really need to learn about this Renault car.

I don't like the rain... :(

With the fully wet setup changes, do I use those values to adjust the setup I used in the (dry) warmup?

? Are you trying to screw my car or somethin', Lee? Why would I do the opposite of what they say....is this your plan to thwart my plan where I plan to beat you and grab a third in the process?

Oh s**t. I just revealed my plan. Bugger. ;)

*suspicions arise*

Haha now why would I do such a thing mate? :p

Sorry I just thought the answer was so obvious so I tried a wee bit of trickery.
;)
