I'm moving to Mclaren, if possible, if not, Ferrari.
*EDIT*: Before deciding the seats, who's still with us of GTP?
Sunday quotes: Machiels brings home 2nd title!
At Interlagos, the GTP season was yet to be decided. The battle for the drivers title had yet to be decided, between BMW's very own drivers. Machiels and Domingues have had their share of bad luck throughout the season, but when they had the luck with them, they were always in the front. BMW has stepped up its pace since season 11, bringing home the constructors title with dominance. Machiels needed to score only 1 point at Interlagos to seal his title, but Domingues wasn't planning on giving up either. However, Machiels carefully drove his qualifying laps, setting him on a 2nd starting spot while Domingues had problems and had to start from the back. "When I heard Bruno would be starting from the back, I immediatly decided to take it easy in the race. Graham had a wonderful pole lap, so I decided not to take the risk of taking us out, or having mechanical difficulties." Machiels said. And Machiels played it very smart indeed, Domingues pushed the car so hard to get into the top 8, that he collided with another car on lap 5, giving away his chances on the title. Machiels: "After that, I just let Danny go for it, he worked so hard in the previous sessions here in Brasil that he fully deserved his third win of the season."
On that, Machiels decided to switch to a different team. Ferrari has been struggling to keep up with the rest, despite their very fast but fragile car. Ferrari wants to have Machiels to get their team back on track. Machiels does not say no and says he easily will trade in his BMW for a Ferrari. "It's time for a new challenge. BMW is happy with what I did for them those 2 seasons, I know it. But one cannot stay at the same team forever, so that's why I want to go to Ferrari". Machiels' other choice was the F1 Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes team, but rumours are that Graham and Hutchison will be driving for the British team next season...
