I LOVE A1 races that start bone dry and finish wet.

Eurospeedway Feature Race: starting 12th.

Lap 1, bad start, down to 21st. Oh dear.

Lap 3, P21 gets past.

Lap 4, P22 collides with me as he attempts to get past. I lose time, but not track position (P9 retired that same lap, so that's why I was P21 at the time, not P22). At this point I'm 31 seconds behind the leader, after only four laps.

You're probably thinking, "you can't hope for a point", right?

Lap 22: weather is greasy.

Lap 26: weather changes to moist, which coincided perfectly with my scheduled pitstop. I pitted onto rains. Everyone else is still on slicks.

Lap 27: weather changes to drizzle... and steadily gets wetter from here on in :D The first of the "feels the tyre is not the best choice and intends to pit" messages start popping up for everyone (bar me, of course :P).

I only ever made one pitstop, onto rains. Everyone else (bar one guy who stays on slicks...) ends up making two ;)

No prizes for guessing where I finished. :D

:| Showoff. :(

Meanwhile, I just joined another V8 game, with Paul Cruickshank Racing (single-car ;) for the second time. :)

Ha ha! Too slow :P

edit: wth? I KNOW I posted what's in that quote of yours, Metar, because otherwise you wouldn't have been able to quote it, yet that line's nowhere to be seen on this page, let alone in this entire thread, :embarrassed:

It shows up when I click "My Posts", but when I view the post from within the thread the line doesn't show up... :embarrassed:

Yes, I had a big "lolwut?" moment when I clicked quote and it showed this extra. Which made sense at the time, since I reckoned you edited it in between the time I opened the thread and the time I quoted. What didn't make sense was that it didn't appear after I posted, either :P

EDIT: And it's still there when I want to quote your post again!

Failmobile boarded, but we're out of failfuel!

Last time I was with PCR I finished 8th. Let's see if I can go seven better

So that's why we FAIL!

Ever since the price of failfuel climbed above 666failcents per unit of fail, we've been unable to afford enough failfuel to fuel our failmobiles!

I've cracked it!

Hey guys. I'm a little bumed out right now, but I've joined the Champ car series. There doesn't seem to be alot of competitors.

Well i don't like it. And in GTP Season 17 a front row for Macca. Hope i won't get puted again(i'm looking at you Juuyi:grumpy:).

F1 2008 is out. :D Apparently the 'new' qualifying system from last year with 3 quali sessions is in, so that'll be a new dimension of play.

Now if only we were academy, it'd be so much easier to get a drive... (2 games open in Academy currently...maybe I should start camping the midseason page, it'd be easier than getting a Pro drive.)

Fail.

You should have used the failcopter as it doesn't use failfuel, it uses kerofail.

It has me wondering if the next GTPlanet BATracer F1 Season will be using the F1 2008 carset.

How's that going to work?

I got in with about a minute to spare, an Aguri drive too! Time to see if Jules has added an anti-suck feature yet. :sly:

In theory it should work exactly like the qualifying in real F1 does, although I won't know for another 10 hours or so. In BATRacer, it's nearly exactly the same as the usual quali setup, although you don't get to pick your times for each run anymore.

Aguri is the crappiest car in 08, so you're going to suck anyway :P

I've seen the car comparison, and IMO all cars bar BMW, Ferrari, McLaren and Williams need to have bars at least 50% longer... :|

Well who's worth having? McLaren obvious, but I hate cherry-picking, so unless I get some incredible luck, I won't be diriving it. Honda maybe? If yesterday was anything to go by, the car should be getting some upgrades to make it a bit faster ... shame Aguri's so bad, especially after the 2007 car set where it was the only car (that I know of) to get a perfect set-up for Monaco.

And how does the knockout qualifying work? Surely we don't have to wait four days for a single round to progress? What happens to people who don't make the cut; do they get exta runs or something?
