I've heard it said that the G35 coupe is the American Skyline. I don't know if it's true though.

Yeah, the G35 is the Skyline, but it's sold in the US. I don't know why the G35 has the Skyline badge though. Maybe they imported the badge?

You can easily take the word "Infiniti" off of the back and put new letters on there, the guy probably just wanted to make his special so he put skyline on the back.

unfortunatly it is the real deal :(
I wish infiniti never joined with nissan, all the cars are changing too much imo. To me they al seem to be going more towards luxry now and escaping their performance roots.

Well if your talking about Nissan/Infiniti then it's becuase Infiniti isn't a performance group. Infiniti is Nissan's luxury group, meaning they make more luxury cars than sports car, while Nissan can focus their efforts on sport and performance cars.

Nissan 350Z is one that I can recall, hello, wake UP! And they just released the roadster version. Over in Japan Nissan has the Skyline. If you should say anything about either of the groups, then say that Infiniti hasn't been coming up with anything spectacular lately, almost all of their cars are the same, or so I've seen. And I'm not meaning to rip on Infiniti, they make a good car, but you would think that they would have a car that just stands out.

Infiniti did not "join" Nissan, Infiniti is owned by Nissan from the start. Just like Acura is Honda's extended family, and Lexus and Scion is Toyota's extended family.

The G35 is Nissan's Skyline GT-8. It is under the skyline family, but unlike its brothers, it's a luxury car with some omph, but not completely made to be used as a race car, unlike its brothers.

The badge is correct that it's a GT, but the 350z doesn't belong there. A 350z here is the same as the Fairlady Z in Japan.

i figured 'joining' holds the same meaning, unless of course if you can tell me how 2 companies can become one w/out joining.... anyway, my bad, 350 z yes, although i havent looked into it it is a sports car.

Yes yes Lonewolfe, put up more pictures.

I'm going to move this to the Automotive -> Videos & Photos for you.

They did not "join" they were not two companies to start with, and still are not two companies. Just like a firm has a marketing department, and an accouting department. Nissan broke its staff into two deparments, Infiniti for refined luxury and nissan for the general market.

Join is like two grocery stores that started as rivals and merged together as one company.

Infiniti is an North America only name. Our G35 Coupe is sold in Japan as the Nissan Skyline 350GT. The car in the pic is a sedan though. You can buy those badges, along with the Nissan badges that replace the Infinti logo, on optauto.com and usually ebay. The G35 Coupe drives like a sports car when you want it to, and drives like a luxury car as well. My dad has a 6 spd. with the 18" wheels and Brembo brakes, so it is comparable to the 350Z track model.

I don't remember Nissan ever having an abundant amount of "sports cars" in their lineup here in North America. I mean they had the 1600 and 2000 Roadsters, then the 510 and Z series. Then the s12 200sx into the s13 and s14 240sx. If you want to call those all sports cars, Nissan never really had more than 2 sports cars offered at a time here in NA. But a lot of those are pushing the limit of what can be considered a sports car. If you say Nissan hasn't introduced any sports cars, than neither has any other Japanese car manufacturer.
