Isla Inocentes Rush FTW!

I dont think I ever was part of a team that could successfully defend the first mcomms. It was a sniper's wet dream that first island.

I forgot that Operation Metro is USAS 12 only.
AR's are much more effective. Just avoid getting bogged down in the "fight for the stairs" if you don't have USAS.

Some other iffy fixes:

- Mines, Claymores, C4 and other deployable items will now only appear on the minimap when spotted by a teammate.
-Reduced the total number of RPG and SMAW missiles carried from 5 to 4. Players desiring more rockets will want to use the Explosive spec.

Also seems like MK4A1 is the new USAS12, as it has bigger mags and less recoil.

The weapon tweaks look fun. Now I might actually need to consider the individual weapon handling when picking out accessories.

Flash Suppressor might actually be worth a damn.

They should have raised the amount of points for laser designating vehicles. Seriously NO ONE ever designates anything, and at the price of not getting any kills or really any bonus other than designating, it's worthless to 90% of people

-Laser Guided missiles can now be distracted by Flares.

This is ****, how is anyone supposed to hit any type of air vehicle now? I have not once gotten a kill with a stinger because if the pilot has flares, and a reasonable amount of talent, he will get away 99% of the time. At least with a tank and CITV, you had a chance, although the amount of times I have fired that thing only to have it circling around a helo or disappear altogether is too many to number.

Seems that as Stinger's will hold their lock on flared aircraft (meaning its just time to reload that is a consideration, not reacquiring the lock like now). If I read that right, if reload of a Stinger is <11 seconds, a chopper pilot basically has to get out of range of the Stinger or it's over for them given Stingers will be 1 hit disables.

This, to me it seems like aircraft will still be vulnerable to teamwork above all else. I mean if someone puts a lock on one with CITV plus the stingers and jets that could be gunning for it, the chopper has little choice but to run. I'm sure most of us have been on the receiving end of some serious pain when there's 2 or 3 things targetting you to the point you simply cannot do anything useful in the chopper for a good period of time.

Thanks alot to Sureshot for giving me a serious boost in attack helicopters, I learnt alot as your gunner and realised my main problem is I try to hog the glory to much as a pilot because I am trying so hard to gain points! My extra flares came in really handy a couple of times to, we followed that with a good game on Canals to in the little bird, how did you die from the pilot seat though? I had to quickly swap and save the thing from a dive to continue the destruction .

I don't think so.

I think lock is scrubbed if you reload. The idea is that if the pilot prematurely deploys flares then the lock will be preserved and the next missile will have his name on it.

For instance, you and I are locked onto a helo.

You fire you missile, pilot deploys flares. Normally I would have to reacquire lock, but now I keep my lock and can let my missile go as soon as I see him deploy.

Was playing match with some Americans and we were going pretty good until one of them went AFK. The reason? A raccoon crawled into his house so he shot it with his pellet gun

I think you are correct...which makes me grumpy.

It will all depend on if one can fire, reload, reacquire and fire again in under 6 seconds for a Stinger:

The reload for flares for a pilot is 11 second and a gunner 20. So if pilot fires first, the gunner fires after 6 seconds, pilot then fires after another 5 seconds (after his reload is complete), the window for an Engi is 6 seconds between flares. If the chopper is close, it is feasible.

"Right between the eyes", he said. "I coulda gotten my SIG but it's in the other room."

'Merica.

Good games tonight Daniel and Cowboys. Didn't lose a single match. Started using the USAS again and got a service star.

EDIT- I just read this in the patch notes -Below Radar will now also prevent the lock on of Stinger and IGLA missiles. What?

Just now read the patch notes, when is it actually due?
Anyway alot of changes there, we'll have to wait and see how it plays out I suppose.
This one really interests me.

-Increased the rate of fire and minimum damage of the Coax HMG.

If the rate of fire is high enough goodbye Coax LMG :sly:.

Anyway on a lighter note a friend emailed me this link today.
Not sure if this has been posted in this thread, I don't think so.
I found it amusing, partly due to the Aus/Steve Irwin connection and partly due to my sometimes childish humour :dopey:.
The accent is horrible but all in all not a bad video.

Cheers Shaun.

This would be true, if other people actually tried to shoot down helis. I do all my heli killing from tanks because it is the most reliable way to almost always get a kill. And isnt the whole point of laser designation to negate the purpose of flares? The CITV/SOFLAM/Guided Missile already have countermeasures in the form of ECM Jammer, and the counter against heat seekers is flares, I dont see why one needs to do both.

Personally, I never use stingers anymore, I used to try but with the flares being so effective, and as someone else said, the fact that both the gunner and the pilot can use them, makes the stingers mostly useless. As well as losing your ability to shoot at ground vehicles, makes the burden even greater.

The problem with ECM jammer is not enough people have the option for it put plain and simple, but even if flares distract laser guided equipment from CITV/SOFLAM lock by putting the lock on to the vehicle suddenly the amount of potential team-mates who can take the thing out massively increases. Every tank with guided missiles, every javelin user and such. I use the Javelin all the time, as soon as I see that little red diamond I immediately make it a priority, air or ground target.

It was good fun last night when we found a decent lobby, left one of the early games iirc, can't remember why now.

The gunner should always have more points than the pilot, whilst pilot can take out targets fairly well, it's so difficult against troops. I see from Battlelog you've made some unlocks in the chopper, Guided missile is next for the gunner. When you have that it will help massively, as you can then lock on to my laser designated targets. I think I had about 2 kills to your 22 as gunner, but I'm still getting the finesse with the flying.

I have the ECM jammer on now, my plan was to deploy ECM and then hide somewhere, whoever kept taking their choppers wasn't brilliant, we almost got taken out by a tank, I think I landed it with about 6% health when we repaired it :D

Canals was good, levelling up the Scout choppers. I have no idea how that Igla took me out but not the little bird. I saw you rescue it in the kill cam :D

I did grab the guided missiles IIRC, so now I have all the basic gear and once the new patch comes I won't need ECM which pretty much means I have all the things I need now thanks to you 👍. That means I can be a better pilot for my gunner rather then trying to solo it all.

Good fun last night gundalini 👍

Too many rounds to mention, but it was good the three of us being in one squad. We did seem to get a great deal of open maps, not CQC ones. Some hi/ lo lights:

- Getting spawn camped by helos at Caspian. I think that was one of the rounds we got smashed, the other being Tehran.
- Two crazy come-from-behind rounds where we were dead and buried (>120 tickets down and all bases gone) and came back to win. Canals was one. I remember at one point we held no bases and were way down on tickets and somehow won by 10. In the last few seconds I was running around A with a last clip of ammo in my 1911 defending against random enemy appearing  The last round at Kharg was a bit like that too in terms of turning the tide.
- I had a few good rounds in a tank by myself - Firestorm in particular and Kharg. Also got a boat load of repair ribbons from riding shotgun with you.
- Funniest moment was at Kharg. I died and respawned, but the boat was the only vehicle left, so I took it and headed to D. Then in the middle the ocean, your mate and some other guy are going for a swim a mile offshore. So I picked them up and then the random starts firing away with the MG, getting a heli's attention . So had to dump us all at B.

I need a new mic, this one only transmits VOIP, so with sounds coming out the telly, its hard to hear what is going on..

 At Shaun's friend swimming.

I can probably join tonight - just need to pick up a new controller. I realised that my old one was broken when I started hipfiring and unable to call in killstreaks on MW3 and the PS2 controller sucks 🤬 with an adaptor...

Mike, likewise good fun. 👍

As you said too many rounds to mention.
The changes game to game where amazing, some rounds we were smashed others we handed out a smashing. Also some really close games and as you mentioned some major comebacks.

From a personal point of view it was great to finally put my mic to use.
Two highlights for me with the mic were.

Tehran- You used the mav to guide me to safety after we were pushed back to the deployment. I avoided the stairs under your guidance and managed to make it to the petrol station and neut the flag.

Firestorm- Andrew (my friend) grabbed the attack helicopter and between the two of us being able to communicate we did some damage. He's a good pilot and he was calling out the targets for me and if I spotted something I could let him know. We stopped 3 tanks on their drive to the battlezone and numerous infantry in the battlezone.

Oh I should have warned you when he came on that he swears like a trooper.

 The swimming episode, here's how I heard it.

Mike: "Guys all that's left is a boat, I'm going to take it around to D".
Andrew: "Uh Mike if you have the boat could swing past and pick me up".
Mike: "Ok".
Andrew gets into boat.
Andrew: "Thanks".
Mike: "Should I even ask".

@ Daniel if you see us on together just join in mate. 👍

Cheers Shaun.
