Ya gatyrs. First I was tossing rockets at you though the warehouses, got knifed. Spawned as a sniper and was playing the rusty metal wall to your right. My dam. Squad mate wouldn't stop trying to mav kill you though. So I couldn't get a clean shot so I gave up lol
 
Was getting spawn camped at Tehran recently and half my team bailed, so I got the MAV up and got rid of some snipers by MAV killing them.

This has been my experience of Canals lately at CQ:

Playing with RU: Easy win, lots of kills.
Playing with US: Owned.

I don't know if you spotted me recently trolling MAV elevators in a match on Tehran with my own MAV antics. First off I start disabling their spawn points then killing them in the usual MAV style (my first ever MAV kills) then I started letting them get halfway up the elevator, disabling the MAV with my own MAV and watching them fall to there death because they're controlling the MAV when it dies, the delay means they don't get to parachute.

Also, confirm that on Canals, I managed a game last night that we lost as US by only 100 tickets or so as my team managed to just start to pull it back at the end largely thanks to myself going super try hard mode and getting us a foothold on the ground if I may claim some glory. We'd managed 3 flags for a while even, but ultimately it was already far to late to win, we finished with 2 flags in our hands (we had about 15 tickets last us a long long time though).
 
I don't get the point of going for MAV kills anymore. They're gonna be patched in a while, so all you can do is get a kill, say "ZOMG I HAZ SKILL" then shoot aimlessly for 5 minutes not getting a kill at all.
There are some areas that I'll miss MAVing up to, notably a few buildings on Tehran Highway (I hardly use the overpass) and some buildings on Operation Firestorm.

How does parachuting on spawn points work? Is it only if you're on top of something that's on a ladder? Maybe we'll see more experimenting with them. Glad to see all that nonsense gone, though.

Had a couple of rounds with the SKS as the "aggressive" snipe and done quite well with it, equip the T-UGS and put it at a choke point.

Also, also, had some Hardcore with Drag last night (fnar fnar), not that bad. Though didn't like being able to zoom out when flying the Jets, which look like being my next vehicle service star, albeit only half way. Scout choppers are difficult to get in to and Anti Air is stupidly limited. Am I right in thinking that the Centurion, etc, are getting added to Anti Air in the patch?
 
Not sure on the spawn points.

I love taking down elevators ;) Tehran is about the only map I use the mav on. But I use it for actually spotting/disabling. And of course trying to kill freeway snipers. Or just messing up there shots. First order of business is alwaus take down their spawn beacons.
Got a headshot with the tow rocket against a freeway sniper the other night. ;)

I get no enjoyment out of freeway sniping. Spawned up there a couple times but its just no fun. Nice way to go from end to end tho.

Me too, and can definitely see the effectiveness of it, but with no Acog or silencer at the moment, it's not overly effective for a crappy aimer like me.

Kinda hoping for the June DLC, they bundle the weapons and maps separately. I find myself avoiding rooms with B2K maps in rotation but am stuck with them now in room I am already in.

I hated the Hardcore CQ game on one map, don't remember which, but I quit pretty early in. I was in a jet and got pretty much insta killed by an AA gun which was the last straw (might've been firestorm, but I was a long distance from the gun, it fired so I took evasive and it made no difference at all I was gone in less then half a second seemingly). Similarly Metro Rush on HC was obnoxious thanks to M320 spam and the M98 becoming god mode, HC can be really good at times but the more realistic health doesn't quite fit with other video game elements at times.
 
The jet was at Firestorm, I wasn't far behind and let out a WTF? when you got shot down.

I'm glad you saw, I was following another jet I think and was thinking to myself it's ok I have a little bit of time but I'll play it safe and take evasi...

On small maps such as Operation Metro, Grand Bazaar, and Seine Crossing you spawn on the ground on the spawn beacon. On larger maps you spawn in a parachute over the spawn beacon, however I have noticed that if the beacon is strategically placed (such as at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the tower on Damavand Peak (rush game, first set of m-coms) you'll spawn on the ground.
 
Definately something going on with DICE's servers. I've been getting into a lot of laggy servers this past weekend, but it's to be expected on the weekend with such a huge game.

I finally decided to use the FAMAS and I really disliked the iron sights on this gun. Worst iron sights for a weapon in BF3 for me so far, thankfully I've upgraded.

While we're on the topic of iron sights, I've been having a couple weird glitches with the OBU or whatever it's called (the semi-auto rifle you get from completing the first Recon assignment).
The first one, my guy in the game will hold the gun above his head, even when ADS.
The second one, which is a bit of an advantage to me, is when the first sight (hole in the iron closest to your eye) disappears so all I see is the second one. So I can see a bit more when ADS.
The first one is EXTREMELY annoying because then I just have to run around with my secondary and or knife.

Have you re-downloaded the B2K map pack? It should fix the over the head glitch. I had the same issue with the MG36 and QBB95(Support B2K assignments). I re-downloaded the map pack as released a few weeks ago and the B2K guns are now useable on the B2K maps. It's the only way to fix the glitch.

I just started using the Assualt class(I reeeeally like the support class hahaha!) and the iron sights on the AK74M and AKS74U are nice for me. For me, so far I like the PKP Pecheneg (Support class) iron sights the most. I got my Pecheneg mastery with the iron-sights just to be nostalgic.👍 :)

No need to delete the old game file to re-download the B2K map pack. Your stats for assignments won't be affected.👍

Alright, I'll give that a shot tonight.
 
What is the new patch?

Do you have a Battle Log account? Just about every gun is being changed slightly in some way, pretty much all are good. The only thing that is actually being nerfd is the Frag rounds when used with a semi auto or full auto shotgun. Some attachments are also edited. The most notable imo is the Flash suppressor; no longer effects full auto accuracy, and now it will decrease recoil more than the silencer. The heavy barrel is also more useful because the aimed accuracy bonus has been increased, and the bullet speed for guns that normally have a slow velocity has now been sped up (which is freakn awesome).

If you dont have a battle log, it would be good to get one even if you dont care for tracking your stats. They post any info about patches and the confirmed full listing of changes is also up.

Seen some guys on here do it, so the other night i decided to service star every weapon. Im having way more fun than just using my normal weapons. Getting through it quicker than i thought aswell, also discovered a few jems with the PP19 and SG553. Currently working on:AS VAL, M26 Mass, G36C, M240, QBB88 and M1911. After i finish it i think ill retrace my steps and go for all second servace stars. Only obstacle are the bolt actions as i dont do long range sniping. So im forced to go in close quarters with a holo or 4x. still doing better than expected.

Had an interesting time romping around in the vehicles today. Got the guided AT missile for the LAV, and ~9000 points to go until Reactive Armour. I also unlocked Guided Rockets and ECM Jammer for the Attack Chopper. With those two combined, I had some evil fun taking down enemy armour.

Also, I've had some success with the burst-fire only weapons. Specifically the KH2002 (which, from what I've gathered is basically an Iranian, bullpup conversion of the M16). KH2002+fore-grip+suppressor= ultimate flanking weapon :). Only real problems with it is that it has a semi-long reload, though not as long as the FAMAS, and the sights are a bit obnoxious.

Edit: And realizing the new patch is tomorrow, this is all probably redundant. :dopey:

I just follow their blog. Then use BF3stats for my stats. I think that will be the way to go.
 
Server rentals start tomorrow, but limited amounts available. It'll be at full capacity next week. Some un-announced features in the patch too. It'll be interesting to see what they are. Article.
