Um, y'know it's fiction, right? :sly:

Had a crash, but none other than that. Jet rockets seem a bit more deadly against tanks, though not sure if that's me improving or what...

Oh and losing all your weapon customisations sucks the monkey balls and how in the hell is B2K taking several hours to download, not to mention that having to re-download it is messy and poorly designed.

Also, different font being used? I swear it's different, or at least thicker.

Is it easier to get tank kills with the main gun on jets?
And what about the disconnects? Was that improved at all?

And Daniel, I'm in the same position as you with my parents not wanting me to buy stuff with their CC. "You want to give money to some stranger you met on the Internet?!?!?"

9 minutes left on the download. Neighbor's super fast Internet FTW.

My younger brothers cancelled mine with 4% to go ...after 7 hours.
Let's just say he won't be doing that again.

So this shortcut "bundle" is just like BC2 then; and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I can shortcut all the heli unlocks and learn with a bit more confidence but kind of robs the accomplishment of having to unlock each accessory for weapons, big time.

If I was just getting into the game the spec act dlc would be a consideration. Still not sure if I would or not. Unlocking things is fun ;)
I pwonder, do you automatically get all the unlock points, and mastery tags etc? Be kind of dumb. I'm proud of the couple masterys I have so far.

Patch: downloaded/installed inside of 15 minutes.
B2k: failed at 1 % second attempt locked my slim and had to hard reset. 3rd attempt worked a charm. No idea how long it took as I went back to work while it went. Now if I can get some play time in before Thursday ( my only overnight shift now ) ill be happy. As much as 7 weeks of 60 hr weeks working overnights was, (salary no over time) I miss the 40-50 hours a week of bf3 that I got to enjoy while working :sly:

I played for a few hours last night after the patch downloaded. My thoughts so far:

1)You can quit between matches! You can quit between matches!

2)LMG on bipods are killing machines. Before the patch even on a bipod my LMG would jump around. After the patch with a bipod...

3)The minimap is better now with the boundaries clearly marked. It's easy to see where the out of bounds is so you can avoid it.

4)Was not MAV killed once and only saw it a couple of times. Was only killed once by a USAS with frags.

5)It seemed more difficult to aim my submachine guns. Perhaps there is a change to ADS or input lag but now it's different than what I'm used to.

6)Server Browser doesn't seem to work, or at least there were no Asian servers playing RUSH. I went to the Server Browser and it said 'no servers found'. I had to use the join game option and ended up playing with what sounded like American players. (They sucked).

Wow 1070 MB? That's pretty huge for a patch.

I found something out yesterday, that Bad Company 2 Vietnam is essentially dead. :( If your lucky the best game you can find is a 6 V 5 or around that.

@speedy

#1) best news I've heard regarding the patch. As I said a few pages back almost all of my quits are from ending my game session. Not rage quits ( except a few ;) )
Hopefully now I can get that 9% quit ratio down.

It was like that before BF3 even released. :( I like BC2 gameplay. Hopefully BC3 isn't like BF3.

I consider myself halfways decent at this game but I ended up on an Asian server once... That's a whole different game, played very differently. I didn't do well

I'm not so sure we will see a BC3 for quite some time if ever. They are already confirmed to be working on BF4 for the next generation so I hope they don't pause that to start work on BC3.

No offense taken. :p

And I just realized a WWII themed BF on the western front would be awesome. I actually thought of that while crossing the bridge at Sharqi (I think). Bridge battles would be epic.

I was trying to teach myself how to use Sony Vegas Pro, so i made a short test video with some BF3 clips

After playing some matches last night, I'm quite pleased... Feels nice and refreshing. Turned off anti-aliasing and it plays smoother than ever imo. With it on I felt it was a bit choppy in movement. For the rest I've changed all my weapon kits around, took the grip off most and switched up to the flash suppressor or heavy barrel. It also feels like attack helis are easier to control, because I was flying like Airwolf a couple times last night.. :p

Also @Dzidza, sorry I left so abruptly... Game froze... I had two freezes last night, both on games where I was scoring massive amounts of points and ribbons. :grumpy:

Only problem I'm having so far is tank armor, javellins disable in 1 hit which I think may be a bit too much. Nobody even made it in the beach in Kharg rush because every vehicle was destroyed before it could get anywhere close.

Other than that a great patch.

Downloaded patch (20mins) and now B2K (20mins) again.

Holy heck those DLC bundles are expensive! The "Ultimate" one costs $60au!

That scares me a bit. :scared:
Downloaded the patch, about 20 mins and now I'm just hoping the wife decides to head off to bed early tonight so I can get a chance to try it out.

Cheers Shaun.

I thought that it froze, so no worries, I left seconds I saw you left :-)

We were epic last night, or the other team really sucked LOL

The bit right near the start where you seemed to stumble upon a tank out for a nice Sunday drive made me laugh, it was like neither side knew what was going on then it all kicked off in a hurry, like most of my games on BF3...

On an unrelated note, I'm going to attempt to get a service star for each class all in one game, I'm on 98% for assault and engineer, 82% support and 83% recon so if I keep an eye on my scores I should be able to get each class up to within, say, 500 points of the star and then it shouldn't be too hard to do them all in one round.

After a day with this patch, I'm satisfied with the changes. Only got killed by a USAS once and it was a user who apparently bought the shortcut pack because it was a level 2, plus I had already got into a firefight with another guy so my health was low. Also noticed one squad using Saiga 12s. First time I've played BF3 in a month and not one frag round was seen. Enjoying the fact that handguns are actually useful now like they were in BC2.

Had a few rounds and some random observations:

- Menus and graphics in general look a bit sharper.
- NB: No more countdown at start of round at deploy! now its 45 secs in the ribbons/ scoreboard screen and then as soon as it goes to the game map, you're off. If you are asleep, you'll lose vital seconds whilst everybody else sprints to tanks/ flags. Sucks if you need to change equipment at round commencement as you are burning time in the live match basically.
- Tanks seem to have zero suspension now - get caught up on rocks and debris easily
- Kharg CQ map has weird changes! (1) From US deploy, the gaps to thread the tanks on the way to the road to A are much narrower and slightly spaced different :odd:. I got lost on the way to A the first time! Ended up heading for the rocky bit where the jeep is  (2) Heading to C from D, there seems to be a stationary jeep in the way when there wasnt one (once you pass the small walls into the 'C complex'. Requires a slightly different path to C, no longer a directly straight one.
- RPG to tank = about 22-25 damage if not from the rear (got hit by a few RPGs in two rounds at Kharg but not fatally).
- 1 tank shot to side of opposing tank = disable
- 1 tank round to chopper = killed enemies, not disables
- LMG on tank has lost stopping power against infantry
- Splash damage of tank shells vs infantry is very low now
- Takes ages to resupply grenades/ claymores from ammo packs
- PKP has lower initial recoil, but later kick if fully auto'd.

In other news, as the 10billion lumen tac-lights are still around, I've ditched extended mags with the PKP (pointless anyway, can jsut resupply myself) in favour of the tac-light. Results so far, not bad. Just have to remember to switch it off in some situations.

Not sure if totally random, but in the 4 rounds I played I got way higher scores-before-ribbons then I normally do (7000+ vs 3000+ before). Not sure how, but I was not doing anything special.

Anyone else had any problems re-downloading B2K? Tried it 3 times so far (at different times, including about an hour ago) and each time I've only managed between 48% and 58% before it stopped and signed me out of PSN. All I know is it's not a problem with my internet, everything else (macbook, iPad and two smart phones) connects just fine.

How's the USAS spamming post patch? From what I've read online, very few people use it now and most that do only use buckshot.

I started using the tac-light on my L85 for Assault, but I'm too much of a Suppressor fanboy on most of my other classes as I like to be stealthy and the big red marker on the enemies map tends to ruin that . Might stick one on my M27 on Support though, or perhaps a laser sight as I always worry that I have the tac-light on by default and forget to turn it off .

How do you turn tac-light off???

Seems that Grand Bazaar is my new freeze map. 5/5 freezes on that game so far. One round I didnt even make it past the spawn screen. :/

Dzidza, its up on the dpad.
