I am really satisfied with this update... The graphics have improved and the gun sounds are truly amazing now... There is too much to list
 
The air to ground missile is amazing now. It will kill a jeep in 1 shot and disable/destroy a tank in 1 shot. Got kicked by an admin for using it and destroying the enemy team???
 
^Not only that, but it seems like there are more people running SOFLAM/CITV/Laser designator now. I was flying in the Super Huey earlier as a gunner and I saw 2 tanks and the enemy Mi-28 all with the "red beam of death" glowing.
 
Is it? I used to run the standard kobra, foregrip and suppressor, now that it seems redundant, I guess Ill have to rack up a few more kills to the the flash supp. Wonder if I can run it with laser sight on or if they clash 💡
Same setup as I used to run. I don't think one can fit flash suppressor and laser unfortunately...

Are RPGs still one hit disable if hit from the right place? The best way I know how to take out a tank is;
I believe so, I have only taken fire from the sides/ front since the patch mind you. Encountering a tank with guided missile is danger now. Tank round + guided missile = about 30% health left.

I think if I could get ECM and and extinguisher then you could almost be invincible as a driver gunner combo. Add TV missile and guided rockets and you have a good setup I think.

It's going to be interesting. Stingers lock on so rapidly now, you just need two Engi's trying it on and at some point a missile is going to get through.

Really tempted to try out smoke on the tanks too. Think it might be a necessity if everyone goes to Javelins.
Does that mean giving up thermal optics? It will really reduce my effectiveness in a tank if so.

It really just feels like DICE have undone all the effort they put in initially to make vehicles part of the game. Claymore kill jeeps, tanks are so vulnerable now and heli's are a bit unknown.

It like the decided they wanted to make it a more infantry based game and changed random things to ensure that happens.
 
Ok, here's what I have to add from my first play session with the new patch:

I like the changes made to the weapons/attachments. I've been hearing bad things about foregrips (which I didn't use religiously like most* people) and silencers, but I have to say; I could still peg people at range no sweat. I really like the improvements to the bi-pod, flash suppressor and heavy barrel because IMO the latter of the three were worthless before.

When it comes to tanks I liked my first impression. I was in the gunner seat and our tank still managed to do well against a squad of RPG's hiding among rocks. It's cool to me that a tank can't shrug off 4 rockets like it could before, but if you are quick with the gun you can still survive pretty well. I have NOT had any tank-to-tank battles yet, so I have no input there.

The bolt-action snipers still require skill to use, and not once was I killed by a FAMAS or USAS today.

The custom servers are a welcome addition and I look forward to those, along with the new rotations DICE has implemented. The only downside is rxp and myself both got kicked from a game by an admin for no apparent reason. Both of us were of coarse playing 100% fair, we just happened to be on the winning side. If that sort of thing continues then I think DICE should look into ideas for a possible fix. I don't want to keep taking losses via kicks because people are sore losers.

RPG's havent changed, nor has damage modelling to tanks using them, so of course you wouldn't have seen a difference. :p

Really? It seemed like after 2 shots at an low/top angle we were almost disabled. I've shot a tank with 5 rockets from the front before and not blown it up.
 
Ill be getting my first post patch rounds in tonight.should get a solid 4 or 5 hours of play between 10 p and 6 am tonight/ tomorrow morning eastern u.s. time.
Already readjusted my kits to where they were last time I played. Might need to adjust some things as most of you are saying foregrip/suppressor are basically useless now. I use both on my main engineer gun. I am also active at attacking tanks with rpgs so I should have some insight on that as well.
I agree with my crotch, may be less effective in tanks now without thermals. But I was using smoke for soketme with them and believe io still havebit equipped in other vehicles.

I suck at piloting and shooting at the same time,minus those occasional rounds wherevit all clicks into place...... rare tho ;) so I wont be able to really tell much there unless magically things start working full time in the air for me.
 
Played a good bit today, had about 3 +55 TDM matches in a row and all+30 so i was happy with that as im not the best of players. So im glad im handling the changes well. I was using the AN 94 with heavy barrel, underslung GP30 and PK-S and my god its good.
 
Now that it's been a few days, how is the patch, I'm thinkin about turnin on my ps3 for the first time in a month

Guns going to take alot of getting used to.

I keep popping smoke in tanks trying to switch thermals on.

Javelin is useful now as well as stingers. Not against base killing though as it is to easy to stay low.

Quick start sucks......
5 second respawn is ok. Just different....

Attack chopper gunner seems more accurate and more powerful. Maybe only the extra power makes it seem more accurate.

Jumping over railings rubble and such is.better.

Mortar map is improved IMO.

High ticket rounds are awesome. Really shows what frostbite can do with level destruction. Joined in a round on sienne with over 500 tickets left and guys already at 20+kills. That map was destroyed at the end. So is my k/d ratio after tonight. Yuck. ;)

Pulled the suppressor and foregrip from my g53 early in the night. Tried flash and also heavy barrel. And there was no other option for foregrip.
Happy to report, gun is still good with Supp and froegrip. Switched back to it for last couple rounds and started to break even k/d wise.



Bad luck: seem to be getting ALOT. Half a round standard dice server. 5 bad lucks.grrrrrt

Got a team kill in soft core cause some dummy jumped in an enemy tank that I disabled then killed the bailing driver........

Tanks seem slower and definitely more affected by the environment.

Long range visibility seems much better.

Not as powerful as a Javelwin against a Viper.

I was up around Op-Fire last night, and was doing ok until someone in a tank started locking on with CITV.

We got painted, and I knew it was the tank as we were laying into him.
I could see his shiny red nose.
The guy jumps out to ruhpear, and we have to circle to get the final shots in, but whoever is in the third seat is still in the tank.
I know this because all of a sudden BANG! no more Viper.
No damage, no flames, no chance to drop to the floor and ruhpear, just gone.

The killer?

It was the guy standing a few hundred yards away, on his own near the big fuel dumps you can fly between, using his Javelwin.

One shot.

It took one shot to completely down us, and we'd flared the lock on as well.

The game's balance has been shifted.

Mike seems to be spot on 👍.

I'm having trouble adjusting to the shift......

Having said that, the Havoc is awesome.

Sorry I couldnt make it yesterday! I was busy and had to pick up my GF in the city.

For the rest I just wanted to say that I love these custom servers! Joined one yesterday that started out with 1500 tickets per side on Metro CQ... whole game lasted 78 minutes... :p We had pushed the other team all the way back to C and just kept romping them in the hallways there not letting them get through.... I used the S12K with buckshot and had a blast! :) Ended up with a good 30K+ total in points... Wish I wouldve been there from the start because it wouldve been a whole lot more :lol:

Yep, it has shifted a lot and my engi now either has a Javelwin or Stinger/Igla equipped instead of my regular RPG... :p
