Why were you there for all of 1 minute today Mike?

Anyway, RXP and I had a good time today. Despite our team sucking (and losing a lot), we both had good sessions. My shining moment was at Op. Metro during the third set of M-Coms. I put down an ammo bag right in front of the ticket house and went to town. All the enemies ran right to the B bombsite while I mowed them down from the side. Racked up a huge amount of kills, assists, re-supplies. By the time the bomb blew, I was at 20-1.

Ok. Bf3 ready to install. Dx installed and up to date. Just waiting for the language pack. Pretty painful at 30kbs. At this rate this 890mb file is going to take longer than the 15gb bf3 file...

I feel your pain. I joined a game with Dragon + Crew and left 5 mins later because I had 6 deaths in a row where I would fire first (on my screen), have great accuracy, and lose the fight with my opponent having 50+ health left. Gotta love those round-the-world servers. :grumpy:
 
So after 17 hours of downloading and redownloading and 9 man hours. The game finally loads. But dont worry, there are still more problems:

I can get into the first mission of the campaign no worries, everything works fine in the menus and thats great. Small issue where the loading screens only fill up a portion of the center of the screen, but I can live with that. The main problem is when I load into the level, I pick up the gun, and stare straight at the roof of the train car. I cant look down, and to turn left or right requires a full sweep of my mouse across my desk just to turn 90 degrees.

I then loaded into a map which I thought would give me more time to work out what was wrong, Op Firestorm 64p. Same thing, straight up, cant turn. Mouse sensitivity all the way up. No difference. Im using a relatively cheap Logitech MK250 wireless KB and mouse combo.
Then after wandering over to the chopper, my squadmate who spawned on me ran past, took the chopper, and flew away. Some things never change. Anyway, the chopper was the first part of the game I actually got to see, and apparently that was too much because promptly after that it froze. Some things really do never change.:rolleyes:

What happened to the days when video games just worked? I remember being 9 years old and being able to install and run Age of Empires games with no assistance from anyone. Now it takes me 9 hours of ridiculousness just to get it to run.
 
As an engineering student, I have to ask the obvious... is it possible the laser-reader on your mouse or the surface it's hitting are dirty? Maybe the mouse isn't tracking properly. I'm assuming it works fine 'out of the game'.

Any tips for increasing framerate? Its pretty peaky. I have everything set to either low or or off but I still struggle to maintain 40fps.

Just finished my first full game and boy did we get thrashed. 64p CQ large on Caspian, 1500 tickets.

Horrific kill/death but I did suicide about 8 times in the chopper. God damn things are so much harder to fly.

Good rounds there Shaun. Had a lot of fun. What a difference knowing there is a squaddie around to revive you.

I caved in and bought the Co-Op shortcut kit, mainly to get the 93R. :indiff:. I also want to try out the MP7 soon as an alternative to the P90 for Engi.
 
Possibly you have an alternative controller plugged in? While leaving my G27 plugged in the game will just aim straight upwards and nothing more.

You know that is probably it. I dont have time to try right now but my G27 is plugged in to mine also. Thanks for that, Ill give it a try later. 👍

Overclock. You should be playing on high or at least medium settings with that card.

Remember, consoles are locked at 720p 30 FPS with something like low-medium quality. Your card can handle more than that.

64 player maps are also extremely CPU heavy; so, you may also benefit from a slight CPU overclock; but I wouldn't do anything significant without changing your cooler.

Enjoyed the 200% matches, not crazy long but long enough for the match to ebb and flow.

As yoy said in game at Metro, even though we were giving them a pasting they fought it out well. The roles reversed at Seine but still good fun.

Although I've thought of the co-op pack I haven't done it yet, possible chance I will though as I don't think I will ever go back to it.

I should be on again tonight after the GP quali.

Question.... I am on BF3 right now and for some reason i can't change the map rotation... It says "you have reached the maximum number of user defined map rotations... Please edit your existing map rotation".... I have only made 2 or 3 map rotations.... Also in manage players it shows nobody in as admins, vip list, or ban list.... Can anyone help me please?

I joined on your team at the round before, and then Firestorm kicked off and I leap into a tank thinking "its ok, the GTP lads will have air superiority, I'me gonna take the risk of going around to ambush A".

And then Nigel destroys my tank and then eventually me! Stupid rebalancing nonsense.

I shoulda hid behind that walkway 2 secs long then got the Stinger out :irked:

Also, love affair with the QBB95 is over. Its just a repackaged RPK.

Yup, I ditched the QPB a while back, now use the SG553 as my Engi weapon.

Re: 93R purchase, you won't regret it, it's a fantastic sidearm. May take a while to get used to the vertical climb of it, but there's nothing quite like coming upon 4 guys, clearing 2 with a main weapon, running out of that clip and switching to the 93R to take the other two. 350 kills for me with it and only class I don't use it with is Recon, which is 1911 suppressed.

On the whole, private servers suck. From the unenforced rules (no this or that allowed that are), to the admins who play god when it suits them, they just suck.

Couple of days ago I was playing with randoms and we were kicking the other teams ass. Then suddenly I'm respawned on the losing team, who have had had 4/5 guys kicked; not only am I on the team who was way behind on tickets, but now we are 4 guys down too. :rolleyes: My quit ratio has gone up since this ill thought idea by EA.

Got my 6th service star for my M1911 Suppressed last night 👍 but I totally get the appeal of the 93R. I just find the 1911 has the best of all worlds, stopping power, fire rate, decent range even suppressed and good accuracy on top. The clipsize is often it's only downfall, but I forgive it for that.

I've began testing out the PDWs a little more, the MP7 is great up close but small clip sucks, P90 is much more up to speed but nowhere near as accurate and the PDW-R also suffers from clipsize but is very controllable and good middle ground SMG. The UMP still seems the best bet to me though as it's by far the most versatile in the field.

Next stop DAO-12, I'm intrigued to see if it has the stopping power of my beloved 870 where the M1014 failed me previously (magazine fed shotguns aren't ma style, the 870 will always be my favourite because pump action).

Good games all round though 👍.

If people who ran the servers weren't so overwhelmed with power, they might be better. On our server, we've only banned one guy and that was because he was harassing us with messages throughout the game. Other then that, we only move people to even the teams up. Can never keep our server active for very long though.

The MP7 gets better when you unlock Extended Magazines. Instead of just 20 bullets, the Extended Magazines have 40 bullets. The weapon can be frustrating to use until you unlock Extended Magazines though.
 
Sorry for being ignorant... but what was all that malarky that one has to go through in order to obtain the M1911 pistol please?

Same goes for the PDW-R, but when you're running that sort of weapon I like to use a suppresor with it and in my mind I become some spec ops operator. Ext mags obviously prevents that so then I just end up thinking to myself why don't I just use another gun that does everything I need in the UMP. Similarly the MP7 and P90 burn ammo, and given I'm usually using a PDW as Recon finding ammo can be hard and ammo spec doesn't do the trick for the amount of time I survive often. I really like the MP7 though, it's profille and such, in the unlikely even that you can use ext mags and suppresor together on it it'll become my PDW of choice.

I started with it as I'm a Battlefield Veteran (linked accounts and played other BF games) but there's another way I just don't know it.

I joined gun club or something.

Going to boot the game to see if that did anything.

Will be amazed if it has made any kind of difference......

Had an awesome Wake Island match today. Hopped in a Viper where the pilot and I really worked well together (he was in a different squad as well :o), and later on I went in the Venom and owned up as well (again, the pilot wasn't in my squad either :D).
