I wouldn't play those rules either.
Sounds like you are banning thongs that you have trouble defending against.
In an objective based attack and defend type game, camping is a strategy.
Might as well ban c4,claymores and mines. They take " no skill" to use as well.
Sounds like you would be better off playing the other game.

On another note: that's awesome that you hot your server issues squared away. Never in a million years did I think that would happen.

HAhahahAH Yes I am, sorry. :p Im not usually a football freak, but I follow Champions League religously. :dopey:

Tomorrow my GF is working overtime and I have Friday off... So I will be on for sure! Tomorrow or Friday I will join you 100% to provide you with ammo whenever you like ;)

Seriously though- too many rules. A serious server should encourage fair play and playing the objective. Ban any of the obviously overpowered weapons at the time be they usas frag or current dart weapon of choice but other than that, leave it at a sensible ticket % and let it be.

The suppressor still reduces recoil by 10% IIRC (flash supp by 20%) so I see no reason why this wouldn't apply to pistols as well. Effective range may be reduced though, my problem with the automatic pistols though is close range they're great but if you're not directly in their face I find the gun kicks up to a point I can't see where I'm actually firing. I'd still take the 1911 Suppressed over any side arm in the game, working towards my 7th service star on it.
 
The 93R has different firing busts for the longer stuff, though I often find if I'm switching to it then I've probably already hit them 2-3 times with my primary and I only need one hit on them to kill. It's one of those compromises you have to take with any weapon. I've barely used the G18, should give it a go.
 
Was playing CQ on Kharg earlier and came across two enemy tanks at C that were completely oblivious to me. So I ended up with a couple of easy C4 tank kills XD

Unlocked the PKP last night and hardly bothered with it. The iron sights are awful. I really hate how you have to get a certain number of kills with each gun just to unlock different scopes. Stuff like extended mags and suppressors is fair enough but having to get a x amount of kills just to be able to use the gun well just makes me put that gun to one side and never bother with it again.

If you use it right, it wont be long till you have more scopes. It's epic but I still prefer the m60 over it.

I think it actually makes it about 585e9836597463543x better. I've out AR'd people with it.
 
I prefer the M1911 suppressed as my sidearm, and got a service star for it yesterday.
Also have you guys tried the AS VAL lately? I was using it in TDM and was averaging about 50-60 kills.

Any chance you could set the server to sit on a map with jets/heli's so that I can go flying when I pop in every now and then?

Being in the UK, I regularly go to it and find it empty.... but there is only so much you can do at Op Metro before you start trying to read the subway map....

I'm really hoping that 5 (or even 4) flag Noshar is released on consoles. If Wake can have 5, why not a smaller map?

And had anyone realised that the flag locations on Kharg is really similar to Caspian? The B and C flags in each map are really close together, the Checkpoint and the Docks are in the same place and do are both gas stations. Check the minimap of each.

Sometime we should all just join at the same time so the randoms start coming from Quick Match.
 
Vexd, I'm on holiday in Florida right now. If any of the other admins want to do it, go for it. Caspian/ canals would be a good mix. Attack and scout practice.
Just change the description.
I will be home Saturday and hopefully be playimg Saturday night

I saw some stuff on symthic.com where they demonstrated the suppressed version had higher bullet spray then the unsuppressed version.

Plus, if if one is relying on pistols for 'range' kills, you're doing it wrong (not you, just in general :p).

Working on my 7th star for it at the moment. 10 mins at metro with it and you'll have the second best scope for it (PSA) ;).
 
So I got very pissed today at someone using the M26 and exploiting the underslung rail bug. A very highly ranked colonel at that. :rolleyes:
So I changed my loadout to the M26 dart with an underslung rail and every time I heard the distinct sound of the M26 and was able to confirm it was indeed the user in question I let him try some darts for himself.
I kind of had to do something after seeing about 5 of my team mates (spread out and not in a group) disappear off my mini map in a couple of seconds. :grumpy:

Now don't think I condone the exploitation of this bug. I hate it and I can see this may make me look like a hypocrite, but getting back at that guy felt good. :sly:
 
Ok thank you guys for your suggestions and opinions about it.... I am just going to have the one "no camping rule" that is it... I think the camping one is fair... Let me know if you guys want to come in i will be more than happy to put you on the v.i.p. List

Range is relative :sly:. Seriously though I will genuinely pull out my 1911 at almost any range with a 'what's the worst that could happen?' attitude as the suppressor keeps me from being immediately shot by another enemy. As a Recon player primarily my sidearm is my second primary, you have to use it at ranges further then you'd be comfortable with most due to suppression or your scope being to unwieldy on a moving target within 50 metres or so. It's a sidearm which requires a certain level of marksmanship to make best use of, but at 691 kills currently (3rd on my top weapons soon to be 2nd) I can't bear picking up another kit and finding any other pistol.

Gulf of Oman this evening I was engineer, 6 bullets in my AKS, a perfectly good engineer kit at my feet with an A91, I chose my kit and to risk not finding ammo because I trust in my M1911S so much. To me it's by far the most versatile sidearm in the game, sure the unsuppressed version is probably more powerful and accurate, but I don't find myself missing and I don't draw attention to the fact I'm using a sidearm to other close by enemies. The only drawback to me is it lacks the close range stopping power of an automatic/revolver, but it's effective range is the largest of the suppressed pistols and the way I see it being silent makes it infinitely more usable and less of a last resort more of a tactical choice. It's not the best sidearm for all playstyles, but snipers in particular should give it some quality time.

That round also happened to be hilarious, thanks to Cale and my friend some of you have played with (tommoboy1991). Running around in a DPV flag to flag, slaughtering a BTR in mere seconds, capping flags like it's nothing and the icing on the cake we took out a god damn Viper. Sure it was landed after repairs trying to take off so I drove right at it and rammed it whilst Cale blasted it for the kills with the MG, together we were... The A Team!

But I hit it with the SMAW from the passenger seat. Can't wait to do it again Friday.

That's even better, great games all round despite some tough ones it didn't appear to explode massively on my screen so I thought you were using the MG, though it was certainly firing. Everytime I see a DPV now and I'm with team-mates I may just use that for the entire match.

I thought that was part of military operations. also known as an ambush. How do you defend an Mcom or Flag without a little bit of camping?
 
^ Camping in BF3 should be allowed... If it was CoD I'd understand the rule a bit.... If there is a sniper or anyone on any map camping, I just hunt them down and take their tags... Simple. :)

I understand that but if you are talking about snipers that is their job.... But i am talking about the ones with a gun like the M60 laying down somewhere just waiting... That is what i am talking about... I am really not strict with it though... I am getting on there now if anyone wants to join... I have it set to 500% tickets i set up different map rotations frequently... I am in tanks 24/7 i use reactive armor/thermal optics/LMG.. I am really good in tanks... But if you guys want to play with me and a few other friends in about 15 minutes i would like to know so i can put you on the vip list
