Yeah true but I want it to be tomorrow so let's stick with that okay? ;)

In all honesty I'd bet it's the announcement tomorrow and then either later in the week it will go live or next week.

I agree, I would bet on an announcement tomorrow as well. If you're lucky, maybe it will be for MOH people tomorrow and full public Thursday. But realistically, I would bet on next Tuesday for actual beta access.

That link I posted has been updated again. They found a portal site for the Beta where you put in a code, obviously for MoH owners.

I'd say pretty near guaranteed announcement tomorrow.

That pretty much summed up BF2 (I suppose BF1942 as well).

For some reason this was a non-issue in Warhawk. At least people were not team-killing to get in the hawks. Maybe because spawn times and abundance of aircrafts was well balanced. Hopefully they get it right in BF3.

That's probably why.

It differed from map to map but take Gulf of Oman for example. On the carrier there was two F-35Bs, one AH-1Z Super Cobra, and I think one(or two) UH-60 Blackhawk... on a 64 player map. Lots of people wanted an aircraft on that map especially because the only place to spawn in the beginning was on the carrier on the US side. Even so all the other maps where you could spawn at a base and grab a vehicle and ground pound and snatch up bases was available from the start lots still TKed over aircraft at the main base. But back to the point I think it's because there were so few to use on any given map.

I fell like being able to spawn in the jets will be pissing people off big time.

"oh my god oh my god yes I'm going to spawn in a jet!"

*Mash X or click frantically on jet, but spawn 1000's of miles away from everything because someone wash mashing faster, or something*

Daniel Matros, the Global Battlefield Communiy Manager at Dice tweeted this ten minutes ago. "Blowing the ass off the internet in approx 60 mins"

Edit: Beta comes out Sept. 29th

On Wiki it says that having a code only allows for Beta testing 48 hours earlier then everyone else. Is this correct or is BETA exlusive for MOH owners with code?

And Bingo was his name-o! :)

Man this is a stacked week. I will hopefully get my copy of F1 2011 today, BF3 beta next Tuesday, and then full Uncharted 3 MP next weekend. Too much awesome...

Well done.

That sure didn't take long this morning. Although I guess that's the afternoon in Europe. A little dissapointed with only 1 map but it's a fun one so that's alright.

Yeah, I know a lot of people are disappointed there's no Conquest either. I don't remember if Conquest was in the BC2 beta (I was in it, but I've slept like 750 times since then lol). And I've read some PC people are concerned that the 64p Conquest will go untested to the public before launch, and knowing DICE, can likely be a big mess when the game releases.

2 days more is pretty dull, but better than nothing.
Come on BF3

(and i have Red Ochestra2 to tie over)

What? When's Battlefield 3 Beta? And is it open? And for PSN?

September 27 for Origin pre-orders and MoH:LE owners who still have their disc. September 29th Beta goes open to everybody on all 3 platforms. 1 map, operation metro from the original MP trailer (and alpha testing if you were in it), and it's rush only. No singleplayer.

Eeeeee! :D

I've preordered through gamestop, but I'm thinking about cancelling it, and going through origin for the early beta. My question is, with a download version, do you get a product key so that if something goes wrong with my PC I can redownload the game again and just use the key or something? I've never used a site like origin before.

Can't wait for BF3, i was lucky to play the beta at a gaming event in england; and i have to say it was awesome.

Everything was amazing, the sound, graphics and gameplay was really well put together, the frostbite engine was amazing.

If I remember what my buddy told me, when you buy (download) for ORIGIN.COM everything is saved on a storage on that site and is there for you to re-download as many times as you want.

Just if nobody knew, the Beta will be available to ALL users. With PC it requires an Origin account, but us PS3 users can just download it from the PS Store off the network. My assumption is that those with the MOH codes will get to access it on the 27th.

Correct. Also, you don't need the MoH disc to access the early beta anymore, just proof that you've owned/played it (EA account info).

Hmm I wonder they'll recognize MOH beta players.

Somehow, I would assume it is set up like the freebies after the downtime. They had something in place internally so that if you had a PSN account pre-downtime you could access them and if not you couldn't. Now how they're going to see if we played MoH or not I don't know...it will see if there is trophy data and then open up the beta for you two days early? We'll see soon I guess.

bit off a risky move then from EA. I know going from COD to bad company 2 that i hated it for the first few hours till i got into it. Think a few COD boys will be dissapointed and might cancel their order due to it not being as fluent as COD.

From the Battlefield website:

I BOUGHT THE LIMITED EDITION OF MEDAL OF HONOR, HOW DO I GET EARLY ACCESS?

FOR XBOX 360, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR PERSONAL EARLY ACCESS CODE. NOTE YOUR CODE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

FOR PLAYSTATION 3, THE EARLY ACCESS OPEN BETA WILL AUTOMATICALLY APPEAR FOR YOU IN THE PLAYSTATION NETWORK STORE.

Other interesting bits include:
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS TO PLAY TIME IN THE BETA?

YOU CAN PLAY FOR AS LONG AS YOU WANT DURING THE TIME OF THE BETA. THERE WILL BE NO CAP ON HOW FAR YOU CAN RANK UP OR WHAT YOU CAN UNLOCK.

and no surprise...

WILL MY STATS CARRY OVER FROM THE BETA TO THE FINAL GAME?

NO. WE ARE STILL FINE TUNING THE RANKING SYSTEM AND WE DON’T WANT TO GIVE BETA PLAYERS AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE WHEN BATTLEFIELD 3 LAUNCHES. You will keep your soldier name, though.
