151 hours 49 minutes playing. Rank 54 (colonel 9). Brought the game on the 29th of July 2012.

But that's nothing compared to Tom (Aqua F1). 725 hours 45 minutes playing!

I've had the game since release and only have like 60-70 hours on it. Too many other good games have come out in the past two years to focus on one for too long. Plus I've been gaming less in general lately.

To put things in perspective though, for people who think 700 hours is a lot. Have you ever heard of World of Warcraft? My main has about 140 days of playtime (3360 hours) and thats just a flash in the pan compared to most people who have been playing since it came out as I have. I know people who have 700 or more days across their characters, and even that is nothing compared to some of the crazies out there haha.

I'd also be kind of scared to see how many hours of Counter Strike (in all its variations) I've played since 2000. Steam didn't start keeping track of that relatively recently, plus I had many hours before Steam even existed.

Got a few hours of BF3 in over this past weekend to take advantage of the Double XP. Hit up some CQ maps to work on some assignments and got to Rank 40

I have over 600 hours invested in BF3, And very recently reached lvl 100 colonel. I very much doubt I will come across a game with so much value for money and playthrough time than BF3. Only GTAV And obviously BF4 have even a remote chance in my opinion.
I've spent close to 320 hours of BF3, colonel level 45 now.

And as you mentioned, GTA V, and eventually BF4 will take up alot of time.

However, none of those come even close to my 3500 hours in CoD4.:dopey: (and counting)

Not a bad price, but get the premium edition to get access to the back to karkand map pack, which is 25 bucks on psn anyways.
Well, I might get it later on... I'll see if the prices drops further.

Got the game on PC, and only reason to get it on PS3 is if it's cheap enough, and if I get someone to play with. :)

Nice to see the new assignments are nothing out of the ordinary and can be obtained through normal play. No mortar or EOD not thankfully.

I think somewhere around 400 hours for me, having got it when it originally released. The colonel stars are pretty meaningless with so many double XP opps for Premium players. Same with resettable stats.

I agree its value for money is off the scale, although with hindsight, I could have skipped AK and probably AM and not lost any enjoyment.

Clearly I'm late to the party. Rank 42, 60h 33m play time. Only purchased the game a few months ago. May eventually buy Premium, or at least 1 or 2 of the map packs.

Just had the most BA moment ever a little while ago. Was playing CQ on Bandar desert, when a dude in a Chopper was flying directly overhead straight at me but still a large distance away. I was in a Tank Destroyer, randomly shot up and what do you know, bam kill haha. I thought it was epic XD

I love killing choppers with a tank. Especially when it is full of enemy.
I normally get destroyed by choppers when I'm in the tank. So it's nice to get them back. Killing choppers with the RPG is even more satisfying.
I hate servers that ban the IGLA etc.

It's good to see others have also spent plenty of time playing BF3.
I said I was level 66 "eagle" but I see it is actually called "colonel" (doh!).

Played a few games last night and there was a player called "animalh" on PS3 who dominated everyone with his jet. I checked his stats and he has 23000+ kills in the Hornet and 14000+ in the Flanker

I couldn't beleive I actually hit it though, was freaking awesome.

Yep but you will end up with two profiles and obviously have to start from scratch.

Cheers Shaun.

That is a sensible set of Assignments. I grew tired of having to use gadgets that made me go out of my way to finish an Assignment.

I currently lack finishing three Assignments. I have not finished Get to the Choppa, Maverick, and SKS Specialist. Sitting around waiting for helicopters is not something I actively do; however, I should be able to finish the Assignment if I actively try to. I will likely not finish Maverick; I am not a good jet pilot and getting in a jet is a waste of a vehicle for my team. Kill assists with a laser designator are annoying. SOFLAMs went from being indestructible to easily destroyed. I have been trying to finish the SKS Assignment off and had a bit of success, but it is slow going.

Tip for Maverick: to get the kills portion, you can easily take down an AC130 for kills. (choppers you're on your own, that just takes time).

And for the laser designator I pretty much completed it by using the third seat in a MBT. CITV worked great.

I have been trying the laser designator in the third seat in the awful game mode Tank Superiority. Too many people on the opposing team use IR Smoke, not enough tank drivers on my team use Guided Shell, and to make matters worse, I get put on the teams that do not use Javelins. :ouch:

I havnt taken advantage of the X2 Xp much to behonest so i like to think i reached 100 colonel properly and didnt cheat my way to it. That being said it did take me over a year to do it. :D To put it into perspective i had a game last week during the X2 XP where i scored 160000 points. To level up a colonel ranking it takes 230000 points....So if i used more of the X2 XP i would have got to 100 colonel a lot quicker.

I agree on skipping armored kill, But i personally like all the other Expansions very much.

Nice to see one of the requirements for the M240B Specialist assignments is something that'll help the team instead of mortar or claymore kills... I can't help but feel there needs to be two assignments called 'PTFO' and, I don't know, 'L2P' or something with astronomical numbers of flag captures, MCOM destroys and MCOM defends/defusions for the former and heals, revives, repairs, resupplies, MAV or TUGS spots and spawn beacon uses for the latter... Maybe then we'll start to actually see ammo crates around the place and people will stop ignoring people when they press Q (or select) to ask for ammo. Maybe.

When people ask for meds/ammo, i rarely see theyre request and thats the problem. It should be more easily seen that theyre asking for meds/ammo.

Earlier on I was chasing a support guy hammering the spot button to ask for ammo, I'm sure he noticed what I was asking for but he just didn't care, apparently. To be fair though I only wanted my grenade back.

I managed to finish off the last two Armoured Kill assignments tonight, had a lot of fun literally running rings around tank destroyers in my tank destroyer and popping them in the back and sides for more tank destroyer kills. Then I set up camp (ashamedly) on Armoured Shield amongst the burning tank carcasses with the mobile artillery, killed a lot of tank destroyers, infantry, two choppers and three MBTs once I got the distance dialled in (which took ages). Previous to that I only had two mobile artillery kills and managed to get an 11 kill streak with it before an ATV pulled up next to me. Unfortunately I had a UMP and MP-443 SD and there were two of them, so I only managed to kill one and almost kill the other but his ACW-R was too fast for my pistol.

I also managed to kill not one but two choppers with the tank destroyer's main gun in about 30 seconds, I took them both by surprise while they thought they were just going to have an easy time of mowing down infantry. It should've been three (though the third would've been a few minutes later) but for some reason the attack chopper I hit just kind of fell over and exploded, killing a friendly but also the two occupants but no one got any kills for it...

What the Guy shouting I need some 🤬 ammo multiple times isn't clear enough LOL. Aswell as the flashing icons on the minimap.
