Sorry about you not being able to do the C4 + UAV Masi.
 
I have JUST rented the game for ps3, till tomorrow night. They took the code out of the box so I dont get that (I got the CoD4 code in their box :D). I am just about to play, lets see what this hype is about.
 
Sup Cale, were you the one i accidentally blew up with the C4? I didn't see you coming in and i already pressed the detonator... the C4 has a bit of a delay :sly:
 
This game is quite overwhelming at first, I still dont really know how it works but I will keep playing :D

EDIT: The game just froze my PS3 for the second time, both times were when the little UAV helicopter gets taken out and starts spinning and flashing. Has this happened to you guys?

The game does freeze on occassion. Ive had it a couple of times, but not to the point where it gets bothersome. Just like any game its got couple of small issues here and there, but nothing to lose sleep over :D Hope you like it... its a lot more laid back than MW2... so just take it easy and get acquainted with the surroundings. 👍
 
Yes it is so much better than MW2 but noone on my list really plays this much.

I do like the strategy involved with it, even the bullet drop is fun to deal with when sniping. What is not fun about sniping is that without a headshot most kills require two bullets. The vehicles are good to move around in, sometimes to kill with. The good thing about having them in this game is that they are balanced, they arent hard to take out at all. So far I am liking this game and might sell mw2 to get this, still looking at my options.

If you play at the right times in the weekend... I take it late night after 12.00 a.m. in Europe will be morning over in AUS if Im not mistaken. Then you'll definitely meet us online... There's a big group that plays quite regularly and we join each others matches and squads when we play... If you havent played with a proper squad yet then you havent experienced the full potential yet... A good 4 man squad with headsets and the right kits will make it very far and its load of fun ;)

Just play on hardcore mode. 1 shot to the chest and it kills instantly. I think ive had a few kills on the lower body too. :dopey:

Also, i suggest you keep playing until you unlock more stuff (Just like MW2, it only gets better) :sly:
 
hmm..... i think no DL weapons. thats just me.

i just want more maps in each.... ehmm.... game type and maybe random appearance things.
 
if i'm honest - i just want a remake of Backstab & Bridge too Far maps from Battlefield 2 Modern Combat. With Frostbite engine.

The 2 shot kill thing is for balance, if it was one shots they'd be so outrageously overpowered in terms of gameplay and we'd be in a world of hell full of tonnes of snipers. The PS3 seems to be the only system not suffering from Sniper spam regularly, or not for me anymore, or so my PC and XBL buddies have lead me to believe. If it was one shots outside of Hardcore we'd be in Sniperfield a hell of alot. It seems difficult at first but once you adjust to the drop you'll be headshotting stationary targets first time every time.

Nice few games with Legendary, Fairplay and Sureshot (plus my clan mate RagGT-R) this morning. I bet those tank drivers on Conquest were getting REALLY irritated by my C4 traps, one of them got wise and shot the C4, little did he know I was right above so I just dropped some on his roof and kaboom :lol:.
 
Had a good round of Rush (defending) with Fairplay at the end, we had some fun in a tank, and we almost got the win, quite a long round. The Assault class is bareable now I have the XM8.
 
Good games last night guys. Did I miss the random games this morning with Blitz etc?

Hardcore of not... if you are recon class and not shooting for one shot kills (headshots) you are doin' it wrong.

There are times when you might want to shoot and not go for kill (i.e. assist your squad members) or you don't have/can't get the angle to get a clear headshot but unless you have a reason to shoot you shouldn't shoot.

I like that hardcore is there but find it a bit daunting. Everyone claims hardcore is more realistic (reminds me of the professional vs. standard physics fight in GT) but one shot kills all of the time are not realistic. I can think of many situations where one could be shot on a battlefield but not die instantly, even really bad shots.

This is why I prefer non-hardcore games. I don't go out of my way to get shot (obviously) but if someone hits me with bad aim then I shouldn't instantly die. If I get hit multiple times I should (which is how the game deals with it). It's fine that way and enjoyable. Let's you take some risks and as a recon or engineer class it allows you to run across that open patch to get a better shot... or get closer to that tank to destroy or fix it. One shouldn't take stupid risks but in game, due to it being a game and not real life, you need to be able to have some wiggle room.

I do love this game and am becoming addicted to shooters now...

Thats exactly what I mean, forcing snipers to go for headshots means it's not easy and discourages random noobs picking up a sniper rifle and thinking they're gods gift because they get easy kills from a mile off.

I to think hardcore, although it may well be more realistic (not neccessarily realistic full stop) it seems to be less balanced as a game and is just less fun. It's just to easy to kill someone, in normal mode if you get shot you have half a chance of being able to run to cover and it's much more immersive to be running for your life rather then instantly dropping to the floor.

Hardcore also removes spotting, which means you simply can't work well together without headsets, and not everyone has them so you can only really play hardcore full stop with a 3-4 squad of headset users. Some class abilities become misbalanced to, Medics become much less useful as people die so fast and the Medic themself will die if they try any healing bar the nicely placed corpses and Recon campers become all powerful as you simply can't find them and they can kill you so easily.
 
I just tried out Hardcore mode for the first time with Cale and It surprised me that the map was gone. I thought something was wrong!
 
I just played about 5 games of rush (love that mode) and in 3 of them I scored over 3000 each with the recon class. I do love this sniping method, its great.
 
I think hardcore mode should stay in cames like COD. I would have preferred a search and destroy mode rather than hardcore, but hell RUSH mode is one giant search and destroy mission so scratch that idea :)

Hardcore mode should be called easy mode IMO. Not knocking anyone who enjoys it but it just seem out of place in BF.

I'll be pulling an all-nighter, F1 quali is on a 4am here in the states so i'll be on BF for the meantime :) so you guys on the field.

Yeah those matches didn't go too well. What do you mean by "gone" though? Less Fun?
 
Just played a fair few games with jswilli1, those were pretty good matches and we held of those guys really well for the last game.

I was actually talking about how there is no minimap in hardcore. They were still very fun!
 
You cannot be serious. I went down to extend my borrowing of the game from the video store for just another night, it was 3pm when I went down. I asked to have it for another night for the usual overnight price and they said no, another person has already reserved it. My eyeballs popped out of my head, they wouldnt give it back to me for the rest of the night, I would have at least liked to have it till around 6pm but nooo, me trying to extend my playing time has resulted in me being ripped off a couple of hours. I feel so cheated :(

I am probably going to put MW2 on ebay and get this with it, it could be worth it...
 
Just asked mum if I could use her ebay account but apparently not at the moment. "You have a game coming soon anyway". That would be my delayed GTA IV episodes for PS3 that I have preordered. I tried to say that I would have nothing to do in the holidays but I got owned, "It takes 3 days to sell it, it then can take up to a week to post what you want here, your holidays will still be finished", sigh. Dont argue with parents. Reckons she cant be bothered putting stuff on ebay until times where alot of stuff goes on, otherwise it is too much of a pain, I told her I would do it myself but lost that bit too...

Oh well, I will get it sometime soon.
