10 gold stars to get a platinum, after the 9th is platinum

Roughly 100 kills to get each gold star. First 25 is bronze, second 25 kills is silver, and 100 from then on (with the exception of the 1st. So from 50-100 is a gold star) I said roughly though because I've found I've gotten platinum's with like 970 kills, so somewhere along the lines it was less than 100 kills to my next gold star, or gradually a couple less.

Gadgets are about 500 kills to platinum. I don't know how many the bronze and silver are, but each gold star is about 50 kills

This lag is killing mee

I just had a chain of all crap matches where everyone used shotguns.

Really laggy these past couple of days... ruining my KD ratio :(

Played some games with Cale and jswilli over the weekend... To bad it went terrible... No lag issues or anything, just wasnt my weekend.. :p

lagging a lot lately =( my friends are too so i take it its not US. and i'm really itching to get this new mode and guns (well sorta new)

I'm going at a way faster team killing rate than happycorey.. 360 in 7 days. haha

Hahah you're going to have to keep it up. Whenever our team is losing (and I look around and majority of my team are snipers, and generally at the bottom of the scoreboard) they get teamkilled with no remorse. If not repeatedly. And a lot of the times I'll just kill everyone I see after I get to the next map after Atacama just for fun. First one to get kicked makes the squad for the next round

Tonight was a good team killing game. These kids I was playing with were blasting through the M Coms left and right, and we finish again.. So we get to the new board, and I tell my squad (5 people on the team, we were 4 of them) to not set the charge.. Let's rack up some kills, we can easily take the m coms and move on. So some kid on the team (or should I say grown ass man) says "Don't listen to him Tony, set the charge! Do whatever you want. If he likes to play that way then let him, but just do whatever you want" so at that point I'm thinking to myself.. Are these guys serious? I'm here playing this game to kill people, not to set the charge. I'm not trying to just blown through all these again and get 17 kills. So I shoot the random off the box who was going to set it, and they flip out..

I should mention at this point in the last game before this they were talking about a teamkiller and how they all 'took care of him' and t bagged him and put their nutz all in his face...

So this time around I'm just ready to lay them all out. They're talking amongst themselves and I decide to turn my mic off and set it down to do work, since I knew they were going to talk copious amounts of **** after the first one went down. (I decided to stay in the squad so I could just spawn on them and insta-kill them) I was using my normal F2k/40mm shotgun gunning them down and they finally killed me after the first 3 went down. So I went back and I got my M60, and put on some body armor and went to town, laying them all out. At one point I remember hearing the guy who was talking the most say, "Wow, level 49, why don't you go get laid" or something of the sort and I just laughed. At this point my blood was rushing as I'm gunning them all down in the midst of the other team actually shooting me.

So I ended up getting kicked. No biggie, I was done with that game and those kids were ruining what could've been a VERY fun match against some people who weren't really that great. I join another Play Now game, and to my surprise, it was the same game. I was hoping and praying it would put me on defend so I could actually get points for kills these kids this time around, but to my surprise and pleasure, I was attacking again! A whole new round to get my teamkills in. So I chose not to be put in a squad this time around and hunted them down and took them out one by one, as they still kept trying to take the bases. Hahahahah it was so much fun. I ended up looking for another game and it put me in Conquest so I just played a few more games haha

so you team killed people who were winning rounds because you wanted to kill wh0re an inferior team?

I wanted to have fun with the match. If I can take advantage of the other team, I'm going to do so. Running through the M Coms is a waste of a match

I'd rather be killing people and lose a game than not killing anyone and winning

so why not stick to death match instead of complaining about having objectives to accomplish?

I actually quite like blasting through a rush round with a competent team :)

To each to his own i guess.

Wait let me get this straight Corey, you were killing people for wanting to complete the objectives? Regardless of whether or not you could rack up kills, who gives a toss, it's an objective based mode and the aim of the game is to complete said objectives. If you want to kill only with no care for objectives head to deathmatch, there you get to kill and if you get lots you win on that basis.

A job well done in Rush is one where the objectives are cleared quickly and effectively, you'll then soak up the easy kills on the team swap when the other team needs to get the objectives and the cycle will continue to swap around. I can't look at an easy objective and say no, I join a game with every intention to win and will do all within my power to make that as smooth a process as possible.

Resorting to team-killing people who are playing the game correctly is the single most pathetic thing I've ever seen in this thread, if not on GTP full stop, it's certainly the worst thing I've ever seen done on Bad Company 2. I can understand wanting alot of kills for sure, but if someone wants to play the game as intended it's downright dispicable, selfish and immature to try and deny them. Not happy with an easy victory? Quit and join another room with a bigger challenge or just deal with the fact people want to win and play the mode correctly regardless of who they face.

You wanna play the game to kill, do it in the mode designed for it, stay away from the modes designed with other objectives in mind and I hope I never end up playing in a game with someone who shares your mindset. Sure an efficient killer is an asset to any team on any mode, but lines are crossed when you're killing your own men because they're doing their job correctly and to the best of their ability.

They never tried to kill you for wanting to rack up kills? Your quote from them is exactly correct as to what is the right way to play Rush, if someone wants to rack up kills let them do as they wish and at least to some extent they'll be helping the team, if someone wants to play the objective then use that as a means to get some kills if your so obsessed. Step back and just think, you were killing people who wanted to win the game for their team because they wanted to win effectively, you can't get much more ridiculous then that in a video game.

i can understand wanting to kill, but, team killing people for wanting to do objectives over treating a game as a death match is a bit too far.

I'd say quitting the game is a bit far if someone was to do so, trying to stop them is just about the worst thing anyone could do in that situation. I think we all understand the want to kill, it's satisfying by all means to see big numbers at the end, but I simply cannot comprehend being even slightly bothered by someone wanting to win the match as best they can let alone TKing them for it. What should have happened is someone notices the other team sucks, said person asks others if they want to take it slow and rack up some points, and if someone disagrees then you deal with it and get on with your game, do your best and see how it goes. In the end even if only one person is planting those charges they're doing absolutely nothing wrong and they're just playing to win.

I understand where he's coming from. I hate going through objectives with more than 60 tickets left.

so, why play an objective game instead of squad death match?

I don't particularly enjoy an easy victory compared to say a hard fought victory, but if I'm playing against a poor team I'll take it regardless of how many kills I get. As I said, I can understand asking other players to hold off but nobody can be blamed for disagreeing and just wanting to win.

It's like all the people who complain that people 'steal their kill', when we all know if you see a guy regardless of anything else you'll most likely try to kill them and anyones just as entitled to kill any enemy just as much as someone else.

Played some Recon today with the M1 to try and wrap up some of the recon insignia's. Wow you guys are right on, the M1 is quite a gun even without the scope. Even after the 1.02 upgrade, it is still a powerhouse of a gun. I took Cale's advice and tried the M93, this is an awesome match up while using the M1. The M1 is almost a one shot one kill weapon (less headshot), two shots and your foe is history.

Yup. Awesome gun. Although i found myself a new favorite toy today as i was playing with you. I think its the PP2000? for engineer class. Coupled with the m9, double ammo, and RPG 👍 I had about 6 straight rounds of pure domination with at least 3.0+ kd on all the rounds (Conquest). Best sessions ive had so far :)

I play Rush because it forces people to move, and push forward (or at least move around) rather than camp in the smallest bush, like in TDM, and Conquest. It wasn't really that I team killed them because they were actually 'winning' and setting objectives, it was moreso the guys attitude to actually trying to progress each others progress. You want to be an asshole about it, I'll go find myself a new game.. but I'm teamkilling everyone first

However it's not necessarily about winning. It's about getting that Ace Pin.. haha

I enjoy actually taking time in a game to play a good game, not necessarily a quick lifeless game as if no one is on the other side

We all enjoy a longer game, but there's not alot of fun destroying an easy opposition if you're killing them a tonne or just planting charges. The fact remains that the objective is to plant the charges, your team-mates may want to do that and resorting to TKs was and is way over the line.

Was free the whole day yesterday, so i amassed a few points/killed... update:

ps3_GTP_Masicampo.png

Should be at 1.50 kd by now... i wonder if ill ever hit 2.0

I enjoy playing the game still, at almost 29,000 kills, EVERY assault platinum, and being level 50. But Since I have 'completed' the game I just want to have fun. C4 quad bikes, launching quad bikes in the air thousands of feet with land mines.. just hoodrat stuff

Picked the game up today. Pretty good single player, but the laggy online was a little annoying. Not sure if it was just the game or the sever, but it looks promising.

Haven't played in a while. Screw social lives, I think it's Battlefield time this weekend.
