Didi and NoQuarter have both expressed interest in hosting, anyone else?

As far as I know Ed got his dibs in early, if that counts for anything. I'd be willing to do it again, but not if it means somebody else doesn't get their first turn to do it.

I mentioned in the other thread that I believe we can keep this forum open indefinitely to work out the proposed "universal OLR rules" if people want to keep talking here.

I agree keep it open 👍

Also any of the 3 guys in the running so far get my vote 👍 cant pick one ..... but hopefully you's can come to a mutual agreement

Doesn't GTWeb have first dibs?

If they decline, I'd be happy to defer to Didi. ;)

Personally, after the absolute drubbing we (GTX) got, I'm looking into needlepoint...

Well that tradition kinda ended after BC3 when we won but GTTimes did the next one (not that i would have done again anyway).

... Db..... dissssss.....d...ibs??

Well, I admit I broke protocol, because I just went for it without thinking about the previous BC results. Not that I gather BC4 ever came to a clear conclusion.

I think it was less about protocol and more about who had the balls to feed the beast-and you did Duke.

I don't think its set in stone anywhere saying the previous winners get to choose the host of the next BC. Since GT Web have already had a go it would be good to see another team take up the challenge.

Lots of good RA's and forums who could host a good BC, and i'd have no problem with either Didi or NQ. Might have to hold a drinking comp to see who gets it :sly:

Yes, we decline. We are too lazy lately. ;)

GTRP is a good choice. Very keen guys and lots of programmers in their rows. So we maybe have the first BC supported by our own database. :D

yeah I'd like GTRP too...even if that wouldn't be too fair for GTX who asked earlier :(
but a database like GTRP would be a great help for a BC

Dibs: First choice. First to speak up. "Shotgun" (First to call out riding up front with the driver)

Anyway, I did defer to Didi. No problems here with BC6 being held at GTRP.

Sorry, I don't see this topic before post my topic in the public section.

GTPlay too is interested to organise the next board challenge...
A futur board with many innovations !

a vote ? or GTRP is already choose to organise ?

No Frizz, i think there will be a vote.

Yep. Nothing's decided yet. We're gonna have to go through a poll and see who's gonna organized the next war. :D

I've no problem with BC7 :D

I think that the better thing to do is to organize a vote with Duke.
I propose that each team manager sends to Duke a - secret - choice for one the three candidates. We can do that by mail or PM.
When all the teams have voted, Duke publishes here the global results. The candidate team with the less votes is eliminated.
Then a new vote is organized , between the two finalists. The team with the more votes is selected to organize the BC6.

Olympic Games powaaa VV... !

So... Here, the GTPlay's "file" an innovation if we organise the next Board :
- 100% of competition will unroll in GTPlay website, in a special part, not on the forum like before.
- Results will be post like that : http://www.gtplay.com/competitions/gtcup/gtcup9/classfinal.php?manche=GTCup9_M02 with the replay in GTRT...
- to make easier communication, a news parts (by rounds) will be creates on the special part.
- Times will be always post by mail.
- GTPlay can propose an official logo for the board which already in creation.
- And many others innovations !

If you don't understand, Beru can re-rexplain :sly:

Good evening.

I think it's good to have a secret vote, it will be more impartial.

ditto what he said 👍

First, I don't really see a need to have vote, much less multiple rounds of voting. I've already said (twice) that I defer to Didi. Didi has already said he'd have no problems with BC7. What's to vote on?

Second, I don't see any need for major innovations/renovations. The International Rules and Track discussions should hammer out the little details that were revealed in this superbly run BC6; these issue should be identified and delt with well before the next Board Challenge.

Everything else seems to be working well enough. As long as a hosting website has the software to enable sub-forums for the Board Challenge and private forums for the Race Admins/Team managers, as well as the ability to attach replays, then I adhere to the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

things always equal to each other may get boring...so some innovations (if good) are always appreciated for me ;)

That's the point. What defines a "good" innovation? Fancy HTML? Special features?

These BC's are to race. That's what I'm interested in (and more than a few others, I'm sure) Until true Online Racing is available for the GT series, it's simple enough for me:

Run the races, drivers submit the times, RA compiles the results, check the replays, post the overall results.

Sure, a race results news report may be interesting, but it's not the reason that I, and I assume a lot of others, participate.

I'm not saying don't add some features to the website or forum or wherever/whoever hosts the BC6. It;s certainly the prerogative for whomever hosts the series to present it as they wish...just remember the fundemental reason we gather for these BC's is to race and compare times with each other.
