best 90s road NSX?

Hi so there are many 1990s nsx models available but which is the best base car? I just did back to back tskubuka on the early 90s vs 99 type s at 450pp on sh and although the older car feels more stable its actually 2 secs a lap slower than the type s even after I put close ratio 'mission on it.

Is the s zero faster? Or the type r? I don't have them all to test sadly.

Does one car have less weight at a set pp but more or the same bhp for example or handle noticeably better.

Gt500/LM or prototype s are not what I'm inquiring about.

Thanks I just ran that same suspension and lsd tune on a 1997 zero s at 450pp and was a second faster than the type s.

Interestingly I could only get my mr2 gt-s to 450pp at the same weight as the nsx but 30bhp less? So pop system must be wrong somewhere as the mr2 should be able to have more bhp at the same pp as its a worse handling car, right?
 
Not necessarily. Given its size it's more nimble when tuned properly and would be very well suited to tighter courses and the touge.
 
Its 2 secs a lap slower than the nsx on tsubuka with the same pp. It should be able to get to the same bhp as the nsx IMO at the same weight.
 
Take both cars to a track that isn't as open like Monaco( I can't remember what it's called in the game) and I guarantee you the smaller more nimble MR-2 will be more at home than the NSX.

And fbccars924, whilst hat might be right, then surely the nsx has better balance, and longer wheelbase so should be better on different tracks and is internationally renown to be a great handling car.
 
The point of what I am saying is that, while the NSX and MR-2 are separated by, looks to be at most 27BHP at the same given weight the MR-2 will be better in some areas that NSX simply isn't. Also, Torque is factored in as well as weight placement iirc. Also, On the power note where peak power is relative to the redline on each car. Not 100% but I think the MR-2' Power and torque may be lower in it's RPM range.
 
Pp means nothing I've noticed...a NSX Type R of mine had 100 PP less then my 430 Scud and it outlapped the Scud on the Ring. and the 90's Type R would be the best...then the Type S Zero

The '99 S-Zero has the new 3.2L engine, a step up from the NA1 NSX-R's 3.0L engine, and it also has the new 6-speed transmission, while the NA1 NSX-R only has 5 speeds.

I just bought a 99 nsx zero s and nsx r 92 and I now have mr2 g limited @ 278bhp/1263kg 450pp. So I'll have to test them all now and see what happens.

Just added your g limited suspension tune praiano63 so I'll see how that works on my 450pp supercharged mr2.

Not so stupid .The R '92 is lighter and with a best balance and grip in the game. For me the best NSX of course with the '02. Fantastic handling.

I think Praiano has a pretty good idea on what works best with most cars.
 
With regards to the NSX and MR-2, the MR-2 is a really twtichy car in real life and as already mentioned, it's down to it's short wheel base and mid ship engine.

The NSX aero changed as the car was developed through it's various evolutions as well as the engine. I think the under tray/ floor changed which helped a lot with grip, without causing extra drag. (This my be with the JGTC cars).

I know in the various Best Motoring videos over the years, the NSX was always able to keep up with cars with more bhp due to the fact it was so well made and balanced. Even now you will find even early NSX's commanding a healthy price tag even now they are pushing 20+ years old.

If your talking about straight line speed then you might be right, but around the track the NSX-R is the fastest.(Bestmotoring)
 
The 92 type r might be the fastest overall but with oil refresh etc the pp is too high and without track testing it I would have to run it with less bhp and I'm sure it wouldn't be as fast. Squeezing it into the 450pp is tough.

True.

As for my favorite? The Acura '91. The fact that it only has 5 gears and no powersteering(They factored this into the game. It's really noticable if you compare it to the NSXs from '95 and beyond) gives it a bit of a handicap but it's damn fun to drive. Sexy interior too.

Which NSX-R? The original S zero was meant to replace the old R, so it makes no sense for the new S zero to be slower than the old R.
