You wanna win which race?

The HPA Golf is arguably the "best" car for starter cash.. 4WD and over 500HP stock. It doesn't handle perfectly, but it kills the opposition at that stage of the game.

Tuner Village > HPA motorsports > Full model

Lo!

It all depends on your driving style, or your preferred car type, or what races you have completed. What I did in the begining of GT4 is simple: complete all of the licence tests, then sell the cars that you don't need-for extra cash, then the cash you have will open a whole list of possibilities.

Welcome to GTP, and enjoy your stay.

there are a few decent american cars in the used car lot II. they're definitely worth the price.

for starters, there's the Grand Sport Corvette. 330 hp from a NA V8 pushrod engine and less than 1500 kg means you have a solid base for making a skyline rival.

then you have the Z28 camaro. it's basically a slower corvette but it can still hold its own. it's also easier to afford.

there's also the sometimes 10 km mileage Mustang Cobra R. the car is a tad heavy at over 1600 kg but it comes stock with over 360 hp. also a skyline rival if only because of the ridiculous power.

I'd say: find a cheap car with ~200HP that's cheap enough to allow you to buy, at the very least, semi-racing suspension for it. I never need racing suspension on my production cars.

Spend the remaining money on whatever, a turbo kit, weight reduction, etc. (stage 1 weight reduction is almost always a MUST!). Sports tires are fine, so I wouldn't bother with racing tires.

From there work on suspension set up, because many tracks in GT4 favor your car's turning ability over it's top speed.

so would the holden commodore be an alright car to stay with till i get later on in the game? (im only like 5% or so finished)

whaddup, this is my first post EVER, so i'm a newbie, not a newbie to GT4 though, 71.9% done baby!

anyways....dude, do the Rally of Umbria (2nd on list) on Easy in Special Conditions, and you'll get a Toyota RSC Rally Car, sell that and you get 365K+...well on PAL version you do

i did that a few times when i was like 11% done, and saved up til 2.5Mil. It REALLY helps

:O i got pal version too (im aussie) thanks for that, do you need anything special to do that race? like tyres?

holden happend to be my first car two being an aussie, but i prefered the Monaro CV8 👍
that should be fine in the early stages of GT4.

no probs, well, do the FIRST race in Special Conditions, and you'll get a Cadillac which is an insane car for where you are now in the game, and then take that to the second race to win the RSC. You need nothing at all, just decent driving skills, avoid the walls and you'll be right.

tell me how you go

nah man, only thing they are good for are to look good in your garage and fit em with mad ass rims and spoilers, use Japanese!!

you should beat most of the Beginner with Japanese cars, they handle really well

All these cars that guys said are really good.....other's that are pretty good are s13, s14, s15..... Those sr20dett engine can get turbo charged and produce high horse power, there very good for any kinda driving style. Also the 3000gt VR-4 is really good, I just got that one in white.

luftrofl

No!! Unless the car HAS to get turbo, and it has NA, get NA dude, honestly, turbo has lags in this game, I did on Trial Mountain 1'40.xxx with turbo, and with NA, I got approximately 1'37.xxx I did the exact same lines too!! It's cause you couldn't hold the throttle half way through turns, it was only throttle, or no throttle, trust me, you will see the difference :D

I can't beleive no one said the used '97 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. That car can be bought for 8k, and win the Camaro race stock, and two of the American cups with a few mods.

And I wonder no one has mentioned a used RX-7 FD... holds its own with almost any "normal" road car.

i did mention it along with the grand sport 'vette and the Mustang Cobra.

the 'vette and mustang can run with skylines. the 'vette because of its p/w ratio and the mustang because of the ridiculous power alone.

the camaro isn't as fast as them but, compared to the '05 mustang GT, is still quite fast.
it has less hp but the torque is comparable and the aerodynamics are superior so it can actually beat them in top speed.

hell, it beats the GTO in top speed.

definitely one of Chevy's better models.

ok, ive gotten 450k in the way previously mentioned (special conditions races) now, whats a FF car i should buy, that stock, will be able to win the FF championship, and whats a K lightweight car, and a boxer car i can use so i can finish all the beginner ones

The Pontiac Sunfire that you get from one of the national licences (a?) will be more than enough to beat the FF cup in stock form (it handles very nicely for an ff)

Suzuki Cappucino (used car, 1991 or 1995) is a good K car, I think... I don't remember what the restrictions on the series are, just get a car that matches those and buy a turbo kit for an easy win if you can't find the 'chino.

Any Subaru or RUF for the boxer cup. Some Impreza will probably be your best bet.

Any 63 BHP or so car should be able to win K-Car cup fairly easily, but I would suggest the Suzuki Cappucino. Either one will win the race fine.
For the FF cup, the CRX Si will win it quite handily if your good with FF cars.
For the boxer challenge, any Impreza should win it. It would help to get a non-CTR2 line up though.

kk, just finished the boxer and onto my last race of the k-cup, the boxer i had to sup up the subaru alot, but was very easy to win after that, the k-cup is **** easy, lol

while im here, whats a good car for the roadster race

i think the restrictions it has to be a convertible
