as for the best covers, one I like very much is Pearl jam doing the who's teenage wasteland on the Vegas concert. man what a version.
I also like very much the flaming lips doing kylie minogue's Cant get you out of my head. yes, accoustic. munch that for a second.
I have many covers... Neon Genesis Evangelion Version of frank sinatra's fly me to the moon is very good too...
there are lots of punky covers that sound way cool, too. there are just too many of them. Ill post more in the future

also, thank you for this post. you see, I have a radio program in my school and the only music we play are covers, lives, remixes... anything that isnt original. I will look for those covers you mentioned. thanks.
