the theme song to Super Mario Brothers.

and famine, i belive i have that tetris song your talking about, it goes something like "lets play some tetris, mother ******" and then the tetris song starts.

Although the game wasn't that great, I thought Enter the Matrix had a great soundtrack. In major fight scenes, the music picked up and really got you into it. Well, for me anyways.

A game with really good music is Painkiller. Really brings you in the mood.
And you can just copy the music out of the program files. It's in mp3 format :)

Ok, the game i think had the best in game music was Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX for the PS1 anyone else back me up on this one?

I loved the game and i just felt the music was amazing and it really made me play the game just to listen to the soundtrack!

Anyone remember the track names?

And a "modfile" is?

Are you saying I can put an Amiga disk into my PC and play the music from it?

Not really - But if you can find the MOD (audio format) files somewhere on the "Internet" - You can play those... Don't know if there's an emulator that can read the original Amiga disks...

A .mod file is the old format that Amiga used for music. You can find the music (.mod) files for a fair few games on the internet. I reccomend World of game MOD's as it has quite a large selection.

If you had any .mod files on an amgia disk, you could transfer it but it would be a bit complex and it involves getting the amiga to recognise pc formated disks.

The 1200 does that out of the box. You have to tell it to do it, admittedly, but it DOES do it.

Oh yeah, I remember that it's part of the workbench and you have to mount something device on something but I haven't used it for ages. Also most games won't have the music in the .mod format, if I remember most games weren't in the normal amiga format and were totally unreadable by workbench.

It's weird how games drill weird music into your head, and make you like it. For example, i grew up in the 90s (born in '91), so i've rarely ever heard any 80s music, but now my pc is full of it. Why? Because of Grand Theft Auto Vice City. All 80s music, but i can't stop listening to it! The same goes for San Andreas, that music waas out around the same time that i was very young, but i love it! And for some reason, i am addicted to krose ....

Anyway, i think the GTA series have the best music, because it's so varied and there is so much of it!
Anyone else agree?

Final Fantasy VII soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu... I have the whole thing (all 4 CD's of it)... some of it is a bit ropey, but alot of it is great... 👍

Yeah it's great, and getting beter. I think GTASA is best.

One of the best features is the fact that after you've been playin' the game for ages, you can just change stations, and it's all new music. Brilliant! And the announcers and the adverts crack me up.

Cluckin' Bell... :)

GTASA <<<<< GTAVC

Besides, that's music for which they've acquired licences and put into the game, not music written FOR the game. See post #1.

I didn't much care for the music on GTASA at first, but it really grew on me... but I still prefer Vice City as well... I have all of the complete radio stations as mp3s (courtesy of my mate Tim 👍 👍 )... Emotion 98.3 is my favourite...

The Spyro the Dragon games all had great music. The Spyro games on PS2 all suck but thats irrelevent.

Anyway Enter The Matrix has good fight music, as does Jak and Daxtar, and JakII.

America's Army has unusual music during battle scenes (that odd patriotic bagpipey music) that I am brginning to like.

Rainbow6 Raven Shield has one track which reminds me of Les Misrables and as such gets my full approval.

And thats about it...

metal gear = good
zelda = good
mario=vgood
doom I = good
final fantasy VII = good
final fantasy I = good
soul caliber? I think that one was good.
warcraft, starcraft, diablo, diabloII all quite good.

Hands down it the best has to be final fantasy III by Nobuo Uematsu. It's teh roxorz!1!!!

I can't believe no one else has mentioned megaman. the Megaman lineup has to be some of the most memorable tunes to any game for those who've played it

My favorite game music was always Super Mario Bros. 3 when you were in the underground levels with ice? around you and the sparkly black stuff. I also loved Chrono Trigger's soundtrack, it is also my favorite game of alltime!

Best in game music hmm... probably GoldenEye for N64.

my other favourites are Max Payne 2, Vietcong (I think it had music?) and Gran Turismo 2. Can't think of anymore.

The Final Fantasy series has always had a good soundtrack (except maybe X-2), wwe smackdown vs war (dont diss lol) has an awesome soundtrack, San Andreas has an alright soundtrack, Resident Evil 2 was good too
