So I am in the market for some new racing hardware. I already have a 908 and a Speed 8. What should my next race car purchase be (money does not matter).

Well if you come across the 905 I've heard nothing but good things about it. That and the R8 👍

In my opinion:

1. Toyota Minolta 88C-V
2. Audi R8 '01
3. Nissan R92CP

I don't have the BMW yet but I have heard good things about that too.

11)-Pescarolo Judd GV5----3:12:369--------387-------8.5
12)-Nissan----R92C---------3:12:392--------390-------9
13)-Peugeot 905 RC'92-----3:13:161--------358-------10
14)-C60 hybride Judd'05----3:13:546-------391--------7
15)-Toyota 7 race car'70---3:14:397-------344--------8
16)-Audi R10----------------3:14:842-------372-------7.5

The best: Mercedes Sauber
Fastest: Toyota GT one (highest top speed too)
Slowest: Audi R10 (lowest top speed as well)
Worst handling: C60 Hybride
Best handling/grip: R89, Sauber, 787b, 908, R10, R8'01, 905, toyota 7
Best overall: 908, sauber, 787b, Minolta, R89C, BMW LMR, R8'01, Pescarolo C60 peugeot
Personal fave: Sauber, 787b, 905, R8'01
Best sound: 787B

1-The sauber is my favourite. period.
2-The 908 is a great car. best buy for anyone. Easy to drive and handles really well.
3-Toyota GT one- fastest and with great handling. very responsive. Great car. Can reach >400km/hr without draft!
4-C60 hybride is the worst out of the bunch. Powerful but lacks in grip.
5-Minolta: she actually gave me my fastest lap (3:08:454) but got disqualified in the end (chicane). Once you get used to her handling, she performs amazingly!
6-Nissan R89C-I think shes better than the R92CP. grips better.
7-Audi R10-not really worth it. Its got great grip/handling but she will get out accelerated by any of the above. Torque is way too high at too low an rpm for my taste.
8-Audi R8-This is the Audi one should get. Faster, but grips a bit worse than the R10. but its nothing you cant get used to.
9-Peugeot 905-brilliant car! amazing grip and handling. low top speed
10- Audi R8'01-i feel this one is better than the oreca
11-Pescarolo courage C60 peugeot-the best pescarolo, imo and overall good LMP

18)--FTO---supertouring-----1:34:850------290----7.5
19)-Impreza Suprtouring----1:35:129------296----7.5

Best: Zonda LM, R390Gti, Ford GT LM spec II
Worst: They are all pretty good. I personally didnt like the Audi TT. Mclaren gave me the hardest time.
Best handling: Ford GT LM spec II, Zonda LM, GT-R concept LM, Xanavi GT-R
Fastest: R390, CLK-GTR, Mclaren
Slower: maybe Jaguar XJ220 (needs a hundred more kittens for her to compete with the viper. good grip)
Best Grip: Ford GT, Zonda, Both GT-Rs,
NSX vs GT-R: GT-R
Best overall car: Ford GT LM spec II, Zonda LM

I didnt think the FTO or Impreza would be able to keep up, but their lap time was surprising. just a second away from way more powerful touring cars. The impreza shouldve beaten the FTO but it didnt happen.

Minolta's great but don't buy it, you win one in Like the Wind. You guys probably already know that but Im just saying.

Here's some information I did some time ago, All the cars are tuned and all tests where done online. I will one day finnish this as there are a few cars missing.
Please remember everybody has different driving styles so bear that in mind and also the AI used to lap just over the 4 minute area.

Audi R8 ’01 3.06
Stealth 787B 3.07
Sauber Mercedes 3.07
Audi R8 ’05 3.09
Toyota One 3.09
Nissan R92CP 3.09
Hdap team 3.09
Matmut 3.11
Minolta 3.14
BMW V12 3.14
Speed 8 3.15
Stealth R10 3.16
Peugeot 905 3.17
Maclaren F1 GTR 3.20
Zonda LM 3.21
Zonda R 3.23

Well if you come across the 905 I've heard nothing but good things about it. That and the R8 👍

the 905 is only fast if it is tuned and set up perfectly, otherwise it tries to kill you every corner and spin!

my personal favorite is the R92CP, it has 1000+ hp and sounds much better than the 787b, i dont understand why people like the 787b's engine sound, it sounds like its off balance and is about to fly out of the car!

The Nissan R92CP and the Peugeot 905 or the BMW V12 LMR would be my best options if you already have the Bentley Speed 8

787B sounds awsome on tickover but flatout it screeches to much in GT5.

I got a 787B last night just to see what all the fuss was about and put the RKM tune on it. I found the tail of the car to be very unstable and hard to control. Any ideas on how to fix this? Oh and I do like the sound right before redline when the car is screaming for mercy. :)

Also I have purchased a Nissan R89C and like it a lot. It is very controllable for the 1000+ hp. I hope to see some of the others that you guys have recommended in the UCD but if I don't I'll be looking at the BMW V12 LMR in the OCD.

For me the BMW V12 LMR is my favourite.
It is just so smooth to drive, not the fastest but I think its one off the best Handlers.

Others which are superb:
Nissan R89/R92 ---> both are fast and really good handlingwise
Bentley Speed 8 ---> Enough said :D
C60 Judd Hybride ---> I like it and its very fast (speed and Laptime)
Minolta ---> since GT4 one of the best

Haven´t tried the 787B, 905 etc (thoose from GT4) because I don´t have enough time and Cr, but if they are nearly as good as in GT4 then they are on my list aswell.

I have just about all of them. With a high RPM turbo and racing soft tires, the overall best is the Audi R8 Race Car '01 in my opinion. The Audi R8 Race Car (Audi Team Playstation ORECA) '05, Nissan R89C Race Car '89 and Toyota GT-ONE '99 are the next best. I recommend going for all of them but you should know that the noticeably worse ones are the following.

- '04 and '05 Pescarolo - Understeer at high speeds
- Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car '88 - Understeers compared to most others
- Mercedes Benz CLK-LM Race Car '98 - Less downforce than the others so it is slower around the corners
- Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '98 - Same as the CLK-LM
- '03 Pescarolo - Just not as fast as many others
- Audi R10 TDI Race Car '06 - Same as '03 Pescarolo

This seems the most appropriate thread to ask...which is the better aquisition the R89 or the F1GT?

Best le mans cars imo (Maybe not the fastest, but the best handling) Peugeot 908 and Bentley speed 8 ;)

I love the sound of that viscious rotary at full song. I don't drive the 787B much just because I prefer GT500 cars to LM cars.

Are you referring to the BMW McLaren F1 GTR? If so the R89C is faster hands down. The R89C has about 300 more horsepower, less weight and more downforce in the front and rear (85/60 vs 70/50).
