I saw death and rebirth, and i saw about half the eps. of the series. I get all the symbols and all the crap, it's just the ending. A new world is created and singi and rei/asuka are the only ones alive. Also, wut's up with the real life parts in it (the non animated parts)

The ending, in a nutshell, IMO is Shinji chooses a world of pain alone, to a world of peace along with everyone else. Asuka is there 'cause... erm... well... I guess I'll have to refer to my contacts regarding precisely why Asuka appears in the world Shinji chooses it's been awhile since I've seen any NGE material. All I know is that they're both complimentary to each other, the creators themselves have stated that (eat your heart out Rei fans j/k )
The real life parts are there I suppose to emphasize the reality (no pun intended) of the social situation explained in the series, in the actual world itself.

That's one thing I love about NGE, the book is never closed on it, there's always something to talk about.

There's something different, very human, about anime. The series themselves bring something no other animation from no other country can. We only debate on which girl is best drawn when you really look at it.
And the vast majority of people here have/have had a girlfriend. Lighten up.

ok there's a very fine line between the two types of people watching anime.
A) you can enjoy it, write about it, *draw it* , talk about it, just like cars.
B) then THERE ARE those who substitute it for having a GF/sex. mostly freaks who devote their lives to hentai.

youre 100% right SS69, there are some sexkrazed wierdos out there that really have to clue. and there is a boundry between watching anime for entertainment and violating yourself

this is just one of the many anime threads that focuses on certain characters we appreciate, about the same level of appreciation there is to the cars we take a liking to.
i hope there are no type B folks here. get the out!

Given all the definitions of type A:
Enjoy it: Oh yes, anime is the best kind of animation in the world. Period.
Write about it: I have dabbed a little in fanfcition myself never published anything though, maybe later.
Draw it: Tried, wasn't too bad, but it also wasn't something I would spend hours and hours on.
Talk about it, just like cars: Well I don't have a great deal of friends I can talk about anime with, but when I can I'm a mouthful same with cars too now that it's mentioned.

So I'm a 100% A-spec anime fan.
Type B as explained by kirkis sounds very scary.
