I'm a fan of alot of the animes because of the action and alot of 'em are awesome. But being obssesed over a cartoon girl instead of a real one, like you said, is just pathetic! I mean seriously, it's so stupid drooling over drawings. If it was a drawing of a real person the actually existed then yeh, I wouldn't haev a problem but it's pathetic.I don't really see how an anime girl can be hot. What's truly confusing to outsiders on the subject is the sexual issue. LoneWolfe, your car theory is a good one yet it's not entirely accurate since when we say "best looking anime girl" it's understood as though we'd kill to be with one.

We discuss about the girls because:
A) We're guys and we tend to rate the opposite sex, whether they're real or not that's not the point.
B) They're pretty much always the most detailed characters in an anime series, most of us take pleasure in how detailed animation can get.

I'm more than likely not clearing anything up but at least I tried.

for me, its just about the aesthetics of the design, and the personality of the character (and if they have glasses ). I just like the style and personality that anime girls, in some cases, have (others are just annoying) just like in real life. you dont need to go to cars to exepmpllify that, simply to anything you like. you like this shirt and not the other one? why? you like this, er... dog, and not the other one? cool. why? you like this character and dont like this other. nice. why? and on it goes. simply because they are drawings doesnt mean we will like them, you know... THAT way.
