On the plus side, you must be able to get about 8 people in it and sod off down to the coast for the weekend... :D

Me_pushrod, that car stinks, most French cars are crap with the exception of Renaults (well the Clio Sport) and the PSA group cars (Citroen Rally and Pugs).
You can't beat British, just look at the Aston Martins, the DB7 and the Vanquish make you want to drool. The TVR's are bloody awesome, fast as hell. Jags are brill, I live in Coventry (the home of Jaguar) so I like them very much!
Lotus's are cool cars, nothing beats the Elise 190 for pure back to basic thrills (190bhp engine and a light chassis with MR config).

😈

I'm quite fond of the Altezza LM Race Car cause it looks evil when you look at it facing the bonnet.

Another sweet looking car is the Zonda Race Car.

😈

EWW Zonda :yuck:

And the XKR's styling makes me think of obesity.

The Vanquish: granted, IMO the most beautiful auto created. But its a FORD. American motor, carpeting, seats, doorhandles, vents, you name it.

And I still have an eye for the Viper GTS, 68 Camaro, and 48 Mercury coupe :D

but I must agree the Cerbera Speed 12 (even with the *prominent* wheelwell arches) is a fine, fine looking machine. And the Bentley Continental Personal Commission is just GRAND. Shame its a VW now.

Aren't the last 2 true British Car Companies left Morgan and TVR?
What about Marcos?

I said it looks sweet, not drive sweet (Zonda).

I think that the Vanquish and other Aston Martin cars were financially backed by Ford, they probally had very little say in what went into the car. If you have ever been in a Ford, then got into an Aston, its totally different. With a Ford you have the occasional bit of plastic walnut trip, bits of chrome/aluminium, rubber mats, plastic dash, and cloth seat coverings. In an Aston you have REAL walnut trims (and lots of it), Carpets, Leather seats etc.
To top that the biggest engine Ford have produced for a commercial vehicle is possibly the RS200 (they made 50) even though its S**T. Compare this to an Aston DB7, Vantage or Vanquish which typically have over 400bhp.

To sum up, Aston Martin is BRITISH made, by british hands, but with American money.

😈

OK if I don't mention it someone else will, so here goes - all the top American CART cars are designed and built in the UK... :D

...with American money, I admit.

The Aston has many parts from the Ford parts bin. Its cost saving measures, which is the only reason Aston let ford buy them. The motor is simply two ford taurus V6 blocks joined at the hip. In fact, it even makes the same horsepower as 2 taurus blocks. (230 x 2 anyone)

The largest Ford motor went into their Boss Mustang, it is called the Shotgun, and for good reason. It is 606ci (over 10 litres) makes approximately 880 bhp and 1100 lb.ft of torque. Its quite popular at drag races. I don't even like ford all that much, but the Vanquish is still ok in my book.

If you want to talk about a real UK motor, mention the Speed 12 :D

When I was refereing to the largest Ford engine (in BHP) I meant a standard Ford, not a Mustang Ford or Cosworth, just Ford.

I was looking over some pics and articles about the Aston Martin, it is true that they do use some of Fords parts but in fact it is very few. The most obvious part on an Aston Martin that is shared with a Ford is the Car Handles (internal). Other major parts as you say are the Ford engine, MODIFIED by Aston Martin.

Still the Vanquish looks nice, even though it may not be a pure Bristish car (Sorry to all Americans).

So therefore my car being a Citroen and part of the PSA group it can't be crap. It was also rallied so further undermining you arguement. Oh, and don't hate, it's a drift classic, er french classic.

er french.

Ever tried putting a couple of bags of cement in the back, going to your local Asda car park in the rain and drifting it? You might find a Trueno in Citroen's clothing!!!! :D

Not yet, only problem is that it's front wheel drive. I have got it (unintentionally) sideways though. That was, er interesting.
