Well some of the DTM cars are good looking, I love the "looks" of the CLK DTM but its pretty poor quality wise, the Alfa 155 OTOH is great:

WOW! that alfa looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, was going to close the thread... but the topic of "which Standards look best" hasn't been covered, though the "which would you like to see Premiumized" topic definitely has (clicky clicky). So uh, carry-on!

Most of the Standard cars that were designed for the PSP look pretty good.

the Bugatti and Furai concept comes to mind, I'm sure there are more.

I love it... but when you get close all the sponsor graphics (the white lines) are quite pixelated, but otherwise the model is pretty good. Interestingly enough the photo mode doesn't let you get too close to standard cars, the only way I noticed how pixelated the decals were was watching the replay and also in the title screen demo when I had the car selected.

I think the Alfa 155 is one of the better looking standards too. I can't say the Veyron looks that great, because it's got alot of curved surfaces, and you can see the low poly geometry around the doors and the front grill. There are alot of cars that have a boxy shape that can get away with that. The Veyron, not so much closer up.

99 viper gts, 95 Eclipse GT, all the 3kgts-gtos look pretty good to me. I honestly dont think any of the standards look bad at all, cant really tell when your racing and im on 1080p

Great car, but the interior is all shiny and disgusting 👎

Depents how you order it.
When you order a Spyker you can decide every little detail of the interior.
It's all hand crafted.

Nice feature is that you get a webcam login so you can see them acualy working on your car.

So much for my patriotism :dopey:

2010 Jaguar XFR. I don't like how it looks, but it is one of the standard cars that already looks like it could pass off as a premium (except for the painted body lines and single-piece body).

This car is a premium. And standard. I have both. Not that i am ever going to use the standard one. It was a gift ticket

The XFR isn't premium, I think you have it confused with another car.

I personally think the Countach looks pretty good for a standard, as does the Buick Special 62. The Celica JGTC car looks good as well.

The FGT in general looks quite good, but what totally ruins it and puts me off when I drive it with the "bonnet cam" or wherever it's supposed to be is the fact PD didn't bother to design the inside of the wheels. That's ok on the normal standard models as you obviously can't see the inside, but on the open wheel racer which you are forced to use, you would think someone would notice and model it. Just looks stupid, the suspension arms going straight into a solid tyre.

Excuse my poor photography skills, but this shows what I mean.

Good model:

Thats one of those cars that makes zero sense. I mean its a brand new 2010 model, but they modelled it standard. Like why?
I'd guess it is because creating a premium model takes a hell-of-a-lot of time to do and therefore brand new models won't have had enough time to make it in for release.

There are a few levels of standard cars it seems. Those imported from GT4, those imported from GT PSP and those that are totally new but still standard. The quality improves accordingly, so most of the GT PSP cars look pretty good but a lot of the imports from GT4 look pretty bad. I can't remember which cars are totally new but still standard, I think there are a few.

There are no "new modeled" standard cars. Every car in GT5 existed in previous titles. I think, the imported cars from the PSP version are the better looking ones (however this was possible).

There is the Jaguar XFR however, which is totally new to the series.

I really like the Audi R8 LMS Team Playstation aswell. Also the Mclaren F1 GTR (Don't know the real name) looks very good.

Ok, its not premium. Im just getting the XFR confused with the XKR which is premium. Stupid jag, they should give there cars proper names. They are more memorable that way. But the XFR does look pretty nice for a standard.

Definitely the FGT. Why would they devote a whole event to that car and leave it standard.

Are you serious? ... I saw it for the first time the other day and was quite shocked by the amount of jaggies at the bottom of the rear wing! :yuck:

Considering there's a whole event dedicated to it you might have thought they would have updated that one particular model to update the complete grid! Baffling!

See my post above as well about the wheels. Surely it wouldn't have been too much work making that better.
