I find gr4 to be very balanced. It's more what is better for a certain track than anything. You should be fairly competitive with almost any car. I say go more for what fits your driving style more than anything.

I agree with DC2 (i miss my integra!), just find your happy place. I used the 86 at Tokyo Outer Loop this weekend, "big mistake!" some would say but I did just fine. I would lose about a second on the big straight but I would make it up in the curves on the way back. The car typically will do much better at tight tracks like Tsukuba and Gardens, etc, personal preference at this point.

I also agree with the above comments. Go with the car you're comfortable in.
I favoured a few cars: Mustang, 86 and Vantage. Easy to steer and as mentioned, depending on circuit, allow you to get the best performance out of them.

I've mentioned in several other threads, switching to the NSX, from recently buying a real Honda. It was a car I had learn to drive. Being MR, it required understanding how MR car's behave in taking corners. I'm finding it to be a damn good all round performer.

Keep in mind, it'll be your skills as well. Players can extract the best from any car, with practice.

Personally, I find the Vantage fairly difficult to drive. I can't seem to get it to turn in the way I would like. That being said, I've only used it in one or two races so maybe I just need to spend some more time in it.

You will probably get a different answer from everyone who will post on this topic.
Like others have said go with a car you feel fits your driving style.

Now with that being said I think the Hurricane might be the most well balanced Gr.4 car across all tracks but please don't confuse that as being the fastest.
It's AWD for people getting used to driving without assist. It's has great takeoff from a slow speed and pulls hard. It also doesn't suffer from understeer as bad like most AWD cars.
It's really easy to drive fast.

Yeah. It's a strong car when you get used to it.

Lexus ;) ..... had a lot of success with that car in Gr.4. Then I tried the Ferrari and WOW blitzed my best times...

Go with what you enjoy driving

If you really want to be one of those guys, just use what the Top10 uses. Most kids do this...

But if you want to race with honor (yes I said it), choose whatever car you like the most or suits you best.
I switch them a lot, as I want to use as much as the game has to offer.

Megane Trophy'11 on more twisty tracks. [This might bring you some "hate" on track from haters though]
Huracan on more sweeping tracks.
Mustang on La Sarthe

The new Megane is pretty OP right now, just use that till they nerf it's BoP

Erm, it really is not over powered in the slightest, if anything it's criminally underpowered! Those hatefull TTs and the other Meganes will leave it for dead on a straight as will most other Gr4s actually, hardly a sign of being overpowered. The reason that car is so good is it's over whelming aero compared with other Gr4s and its brakes. That's it's strengths, brakes and corners.

And fuel!
This thing drives forever...

650S is a great choice as well. But both Gr.4 and Gr.3 classes are well balanced and it's more on which car you get used to race with. SLS, M4, 86 are great cars as well on Gr.4, meanwhile the NSX, 458, Huracán and 911 are really really good on Gr.3. Get some cars on each class and keep on driving, until you find one that fits. For me, on both classes, were the 650S.

But I miss having 7 gears on the 650S Gr.3.

Yeah. It's a strong car when you get used to it.
I spent some more time with it last night and started to get into a groove with it. You have to have alot of throttle modulation and keep your inputs smooth I found.

I really enjoy using the 458. Has some of the best handing in the class besides the Megane Trophy. Good straight line speed too. Certainly much easier to drive than the GT3 version. However I don’t think there’s as much risk/reward as the GT3.

Still, the sound makes it much more interesting to drive for me than the Megane.

You realize it's literally the Meta on Brands Hatch this very moment?

Overpowered doesn't literally mean "too much horsepower" it means it's too good for its class, which it is.

Wrong, overpowered means exactly that. Too much power over its competition. It is NOT overpowered. It is a silhoutte racer that has been lazily dumped in Gr4 and as such carries its abundance of extreme aero and brake package over. Learn the difference.

Blah blah non sequitur.

Just the sort of response i expect from people who have little knowledge of the subject in hand.

You mean of the subject at hand?

Your misunderstanding of the phrase "overpowered" is now clear to me, as english isn't your primary language.

Carry on.

Well being English, from the country that invented the language, it's fair to say i have a better grasp of it than you. Overpowered means literally that. It does not mean what you or anyone else who is wrong wants it to mean. It is a very literal phrase OVER POWERED. It has no hidden meaning. Mismatched is what you all mean but for some reason that is too hard for your minds to grasp. The car does not have an abundance of power, it does not streak away from all others on straights. Its strengths are braking and cornering which has NOTHING to do with power. Now, can we end this subject and accept that we are not going to agree or do you feel a need to still prove yourself wrong? Either way, i'm not going to entertain any more responses from you.

First of all, I never used the phrase Overpowered, you did. I said OP, which is an acronym, a turn of phrase used to describe something imbalanced.

For example: "Bro, in call of duty, that grenade launcher is so OP"
"yeah man, it sure is overpowered"

Are you really trying to claim that this long-established SLANG turn of phrase can't possibly exist, and people are stupid enough to say a Grenade Launcher has too much horsepower??

Worse than that, are you actually trying to argue your way out of saying something so inane? LOL, as I said, carry on.. lol

Another example of "overpowered" that I can compare to the Megane Trophy is the Cromwell from World of Tanks. In a nutshell, that tank has a really low alpha (the damage each shell does), but to make up for its lack of alpha it has a very quick reload and thus an abnormally high DPM (Damage-per-minute; that is, the amount of damage you would deal per minute assuming that you hit every single round). What makes matters worse for this tank is that the accuracy value of the gun is high, even on the move. It also has a high penetratikn value, meaning that each shot you shoot not only has a high probability of hitting the enemy, but also inflicting damage to them. The tank has crap armor, but amazing mobility to compensate for it

By interpreting "overpowered" literally in World of Tanks, you would think of a tank that has a really high alpha; that is, a very powerful gun. It would also have really good defense. But the Cromwell has the opposites of what I just described as an OP tank, so why is it OP? Because the other statistics it has to compensate for its lack of raw alpha and armor is over-the-top and overkill. Sure, you can trade alpha for DPM, but making it too accurate and too penetrative as well means that you can run around your enemies as they try their damnest to aim at you, while you don't even have to aim at all, or even stop for that matter, because you're almost going to hit and penetrate anyway.

What do tanks have anything to do with the Megane Trophy? From what I understand, your definition of OP is a "Power" car- an RC F maybe, or the old Megane. They have tons of power, and would definitely obliterate the Trophy on the straights. But what the Trophy has to compensate for its lack of straight line speed is its amazing agility, braking, and fuel efficiency. It's okay to sacrifice straight line speed for agility- the 4C does this. It's okay to sacrifice overall pace for fuel efficiency- the GT-R in Gr. 3 does this. But what's not okay is to over-compensate and mash these two things together. What makes the problem worse is its exceptional braking. Most of Gr. 4 cars have more or less the same braking points, but the Trophy can, at times, brake as much as a whole meter board later compared to its peers. It's as if you slapped Gr. 3 grade brakes onto a Gr. 4 machine.

To recap: if your definition of OP is a "power" car, like the RC F, then the Trophy would be out of your radar on the list of cars being OP. However, the other statistics that the Trophy excels to compensate for its lack of power is so over-the-top and overkill that, despite its lack power, it's an overpowered car

I swap between cars in Gr4 a lot, for power tracks like le mans I use the Vantage, for tight twisty tracks, where power down is important I use the Lancer Evo, and for balanced tracks I stick with the Hyundai.

That being said I've had most of my success in the GT86 on longer races, better on fuel and easy on its tires especially at Brands Hatch

That has been my whole point about this car since it arrived. If you took this away and make the brakes just like every other Gr.4 car it would probably not be so dominant.
