Hello,

I looked for a thread with a similar topic, but I couldn't find any, so here it is:

From your experience, which one do you think is the best racing car? Citroen GT, Zonda, Peugeot 908? I'll probably have only one chance to get a premium race car, so I'm looking forward to your input.

Also I've read about Citroen GT, Bentley 8, C60, C9 in the trading forums, but have no idea about their specifications. If any of you own them, could you please provide their specs?

Also McLaren F1 seems to be in demand, but for all I know, it is a premium sold for 1 million, with only 630 hp. Why is this in high demand? Is there some other version of the car?

If the topic has already been covered, I'd be happy if you could provide a link to that thread. Thanks.

The 908 is amazing. Better than anything else I have, funner to use than the FGT imo...

Is the reason that everyone is talking about the FGT is because there is no event for the Ferrari's?

I would much rather have a real Formula 1 then some car PD made.

From my experiences, the Sauber is incredible, but for speed and perfect balance, the Chapparal 2D.

Yes I like this car as well. One thing that is needed is an upgraded transmission.

The McLaren F1 was designed to be the best car in the world -- to handle all aspects of high performance driving, do it without peer while not requiring forced-induction, and look dead sexy while doing it. There are very few modern cars that can match its list of performance credentials, and the F1 has been in existence for almost two decades. It's that good.

Anyone use the Citroen GT Race Car yet? The 5.6 million price tag is really tempting me, I expect it to be an awesome car.

Save your credits, as it can be won for completing Dream Car Championship in B-Spec. It's a very solid car to have in your garage.

It's overpriced, save your money. There's better vehicles for less, even the Formula GT is cheaper if you can find it.

Is the C9 a standard car? How much was the price?

Yes, it is a standard car (unfortunately). I got it through the birthday glitch so it was free. Cost wise, I think I saw it in the used car dealership and it was about $5 mill (don't quote me on that though!).

The price have to do with what it cost in real life. Why else would the Miura be so expensive.
edit/ The Citroën race car is useless. Underpowered and heavy in comparison with other race cars. I like the Toyota ones.

Not necessarily. Yes the older race cars are expensive because they're considered classics but there's not always a direct correlation between in game and real world price.

Regardless the Citroen GT race car is not worth 5.6M. The Toyota Minolta 88C-V blows it out of the water and you can win that. You also win the Citroen in one of the later races, I don't remember exactly which off the top of my head.

You cant go wrong with the 787b and it's a premium car too, i have the stealth model and it is awesomly quick.

Thanks for the tip. I already had to spend my hard earned cash for the Formula GT. My next goal is to buy a really good race car.

I'll win the level 21 ticket really soon (about to finish extreme events), let's hope I get a good car.

On another note, I wonder if it's possible to quit the game (without saving) the moment you cash your level 21 gift ticket, and try to get the car you want by trying this a few times.

The Minolta is a BEAST! Pushing 1020+ hp and super lightweight. Great downforce for high speed stability, and awesome brakes as well. Easily wins the Gran Turismo All Stars event.

I had totally forgotten about Minolta in my garage :) Thanks.

Anyone know anything about Bentley Speed 8, or why the F1 McLaren is so famous?

I have a 908 and think it and the Minolta are my best cars. All I know about the Citroen is from my Prologue days, did not feel like a car at all. TheZonda is nice, but cannot touch the 908. I was wondering about the Bentley too, there is one in the UCD if you have 5.5 mil, I do but I think I will be going for a 787b 2morrow.

787b looks ugly, but the specs look promising. Let me know how it drives.

787B is a group c car with a very easy on the tires set up. i used it to do endurance events in gt4. always went 2 more laps on tires than the competition.

why the F1 McLaren is so famous?

1995 only GT1 car to win Le Mans overall, others that year finished 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 13th overall. First and i think only non Japanese car to win the GT500 Title in 1996

The Minolta is my favorite of the few race cars I have. I actually thought the 7 would be quicker with nearly the same BHP and like 280kg's lighter, but it just isn't for some reason. I can't even get it to go faster than 365 (km) for some reason

I've got to Vote for the Minolta aswell , mines on its 2nd Engine allready being as its done the Most Mileage of all the Cars I have

Laps Like the Wind on Average at 3mins 22secs for 5 Laps Never have to lift off the Throttle even did a few 3min 18secs 5 lappers

Rebuild was 500,000cr though  but its now giving out 1040BHP :D and it has a 100% Win Rate in A-Spec and B-Spec

Thanks for the interesting information.

Have used the Minolta in GT5 and still don't like it (I just couldn't get the hang of it in GT4) - it was the only car I couldn't get a single clean lap with on the 'Ring :D

The only other race cars I have driven so far in 5 are the '787B and Audi R10 Stealth models and they're outstanding. Of course, as I have no basis for comparison, I can't say if they're outstanding in their class.

I was a huge fan of the Bentley Speed 8 and the Nissan R92CP on GT4 and can't wait to get my hands on them this time round.
