What version of the S2000 has the most potential as a 450pp car?
The Spoon, Mugen or another one?

I would really appraciate some help! :)

The Mugen gets slightly more bang for bucks. It should be around 10kg lighter and 10bhp more than the regular S2000. I haven't looked at the Spoons, but according to mygranturismo, it looks like it's substantially lighter with about the same power as the regular S2000, so that would appear to have the most potential...

How can you see on Mygranturismo what weight and hp a car has in a certain pp range?
I had a look at the site, but I couldn't find it...

Thanks for the help!
Looks like the Spoon S2000 would be the best at 450pp or am I looking wrong then? :O

It's very difficult to say this. Just testing with ghost. For example the Opera with no front aero and only 5 points rear downforce is one of the fastest 500PP, faster than my RUF RGT or RX7 '02, in the path of my 111R. Too much Power limiter for 450PP.

Have you got a tune for the Spoon though?

Amuse Street Version is good BUT LSD (Prefer using OSE_CAP__SHADOW/Slender_Man's LSD setup) will need a work since the car oversteers for that problem. The Mugen has similar problem like the Amuse. Spoon isn't much of a problem. The Street Version is also one of the two to have a modified Final drive out of all S2000s (has 4.440 final drive) other than the GT Turbo with extra 7th gear and 4.9 final

What does that final drive mean?

What does that final drive mean?
For S2000s with a F20C unit; the stock 4.100 doesn't do quite well in lower rpms with the 2.0L engine (reason why the F22C was made), and the gears feel a bit wide apart but when increasing the final drive value; the gear ratios are closer obviously and feel like the torque response has increase (when really, it hasn't). If you try using stock ratios with fully custom transmission, it won't work out because it lack's secondary gear ratio it needed. The game causes it to be farther apart than the stock equipped transmission in the game :( Wish we could be able to have an option of Stock Transmission + Final Adjustable

If you are allowed to run the Amuse R1, use it. Tune posted here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/motor-city-tunes.167421/page-22#post-8430820 This is the fastest of the S2000s.

If the rules are more strict, I found that the Type V '03 has just a little bit extra. Tune here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/motor-city-tunes.167421/page-15#post-7824773 and one of my best.
Thanks for the help! :)
If the R1 is a street car it is allowed.
Is it a street car though?

The R1 is not called a race car in the game. It is called a tuner car. If the racing rules state street car, normally that means that tuner cars are not allowed. Try my tune for the Type V '03. I win a lot of online racing with that car/tune.

I am not sure, but I think there is a street version of the R1...
Maybe that one would be the best?
I will try the Type V '03 when I have one of those.

If anyone has Amuse R1 (street version), Spoon S2000, Type V '03 or other standard S2000's let me know please!!!

The R1 started it's base as a Project Car by Amuse. They used many of the prototype stuff for the car. Many titanium parts, light weight parts and Carbon Fiber were used w/o removing the interior panels, A/C and Radio (despite the soft-top was removed for Amuse's Hardtop). It was usually a Tsukuba Time Attack Street Car (Marked 1:02 with Advan A048) but became famous in Hot Version when it appeared on Touge Showdown 280.

It was ORIGINALLY Blue (Monte Carlo) but Amuse did some body work and re-painted it in orange with the blue still stayed in the engine bay. Engine was stock with just intake, ECU, & Exhaust (& Header) modifications. The front "lip" described in the game is actually a front bumper with down-force. I don't know why GT5 would say that. Speed actually improved when I used the 4.500 Final Drive (via hybrids)

The R1 have a superior grip ,that made it a GT5 top touge tune ,but don't have a great top speed for PP racing.
The 2003 in my test were the fatest Street S2000 till now. I did a quick tune using a base from my 500PP of my amuse street version. It's a very different car, nothing to see with the Honda model in the game.
The balance is not the same and you need a front ballast (55% front) to have the same driving sensation. I did a better time as my Honda S2000 '03, 1 second less 7:42.500. Top speed is the same, just a few more grip.

Is the '03 the normal one or the Type V? (If there is difference...?)
Have you ever tried the Spoon S2000 by the way?

So no in-game difference?

I noticed a difference in handling. I also noticed that the Type Vs had higher rev limiter RPMs. The Type Vs is the only in-game car that I have seen that can beat its premium counterpart (the S2000 2006 premium version).

So sounds like the Type V '03 is the best S2000 for 450pp or is that a wrong conclusion?

Here's a generic S2000 build I put together recently. 450PP on SH tyres. It should work on all the regular S2000s, not sure about some of the tuner ones, not tested on them.

Generic S2000

I would experiment with wheel alignment, try something like this:

Camber: 2.5 / 1.6
Toe: -0.18 / -0.16

Match your springs to the weight distribution, but add an extra 5% to the front spring. Use the markings on the slider to calculate the % required, all the way left being 0%, all the way right being 100%. You should end up with something similar to that posted in the link above, just make sure you've set the front to 55% and the rear to 50% 👍
