It depends on the car for me, but generally I do like the whine more than the blow off.

Jesus that GTR lap looked ugly. All kinds of over and understeer there. Anyone want to tell me what that buzzing sound was?
 
on the thin markings/kerbs they are uh ribbed(?) think they are also called vibraline
makes that noise when driven over

I'm shocked that the Porsche GT3 RS hasn't appeared in this thread yet (that is, assuming that I haven't simply overlooked it). And if one GT3 is sonorous, then two must be spectacular:

And the sound quality of this camera is perhaps slightly better:



Edit: The Gallardo is one of very few cars that I think sound better from outside the car rather than in the driver's seat (interestingly, the LF-A, also a V10, is another). Skip to 2:40:

I don't know about you guys, but I think that the best sound any car can make is that little snarl you get when you change gears are the revs start to fall

I absolutely love hillclimb videos. MPZracevideos has got the best ones in my opinion.
