What is the best system ever, in your opinion? I know I'm leaving some of the older ones out but basically, the popular systems is what I'm asking.

Oh god, another one of these "which system is best" threads. I would vote but I cant pick a system that was best. They all were (well the ones I owned that is).

I just noticed that you have both GBA and GBA:SP in the separate. They are basically the same thing, unless we are voting based on hardware specs as well, which would distinguish the SP from the original.

Wow, I own all of those systems, minus two. and depending on what the "Sega" is, i might even own it too.

My vote goes the the Dreamcast.

what is an atari? atari is a company. the atari jaguar is up there, but it is EASILY the worst system in the list.

I havent voted yet, but am thinking of either the SNES or the playstation. I had a lot of fun with the good ol psx. so many games.

NES. The first system I ever had and played(Well, we have an Atari 2600 too). I can't believe that I no longer have it. I even looked for it awhile back. I loved playing Mario Brothers on that thing.

current: ps2
yesteryear: PSX (MGS2, Syphon Filter), NES(Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt Game pak) and Sega Genesis( Road Rash, Sonic (1,2,3,K).

n64 cuz it has PEFECT DARK AND GOLDEN EYE MOTHER****EN *****ES!

Are you ****in sure about that, I mean the N64 was like the **** and all, but those games and the ****in wrestling games were the only ****ing decent ****ing games on the console. I mean how can you ****ing say that the best console only has a few ****ing clasic games. Although I ****ing must admit there were a few ****ing other ****ing games apart from those mentioned.

My vote goes to the Coleco vision.

Oh sorry the MOTHER****IN COLECO VISION ****IN HELL YEA!!!1

Meh, I liked.
Mario 64, Goldeneye, PD, WWF Wrestlemainia and WWF No mercy.

Smash bros was fun for about 5mins and bad furday was gimmicky. The N64 had no killer fighting games or racing sims, those are the games that sometimes can make or break a system. I suppose Zelda is good, but I prefer my RPG's lazy (turn based) and i've never gotten into it.

Meh, my vote goes to the Ol' coleco vision, or failing that the PSX. I think the PSX has helped me waste many hours of valuble study time throughout my secondary school career. :D

The Atari refers to the Atari 2600, the most popular gaming system of all time.

Most of the people here started on a PS1 or PS2 but having been around since the dawn of video games I'd have to say the SNES was the best followed by the Dreamcast.
The PS1 had the goods at the time, but not enough to make it a classic. The SNES has games that are still being rereleased and replayed on newer systems (PS1) and Emulators around the world.
And now that most of the great Japanese RPG's we never saw have been translated by fans with a little knowhow, it's even better than before.

You must be a REAL young pup! I'm only 16, and I know what one is!

This is something like the one my friend used to have, before they trashed it(WHY?????)

Nah, I like making responses that are more than one line. It makes me look like a rambling idiot, but i'm not particularly bothered about that, mainly because it's better than posting in all caps and putting swearwords in my posts. Anyway I forgot what we were actually talking about so why don't we get back to the subject.

On the subect of Ataris, my coleco vision had a dongle that would allow you to play atari 2600 games on it. Although the dongle was about half the size of the console itself. Although it was worth it just for Atari tennis and some horrible 3d esque tank game which name eludes me now.

im sorry, that isnt an atari. that is an atari 2600. im not a retard, i knew what you were referring to. I just disagreed with the term you used. it is an atari 2600, just like an NES isnt a nintendo, it is a nintendo entertainment system. all of the first gen consoles were referred to as simply sega, nintendo or atari......... but just as a psx is a ps1 now, those systems need to be distingiushed from the newer ones, jaguar etc.

haha, i cant believe i wasted 3 min writing that.

I loved my C64..........oh the memorys :P :D ...........those days are gone:(
and my Atari 2600.............:(

I vote the playstation cause thats what really kick started me into gaming plus its the only console that has lasted the 5yrs mark and beyond, people are still developing games for the Playstation. It's even had a revamped look to it with the psone, no other console has lasted this long and made such an impression. :D
