Nah, I like making responses that are more than one line. It makes me look like a rambling idiot, but i'm not particularly bothered about that, mainly because it's better than posting in all caps and putting swearwords in my posts. Anyway I forgot what we were actually talking about so why don't we get back to the subject.
actually unless u are RACE IDIOT i wasnt talking to u so STFU, but i understand u being from london and all.. the weather there sucks dont it? :(

lol - apparently I was the sole voter for the Genesis... Wow - the hours and beer I wasted with that thing... Puts every other system to shame.

Well i dont remember who made it i think the year was 77 or 78 we had this game called pong and thats all it was turn it on and hit this little square back and forth like tennis .:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: what were we thinking ,But at the time this was revolutionary stuff.

I suppose Zelda is good, but I prefer my RPG's lazy (turn based) and i've never gotten into it.

dude zelda:embarrassed:cinara (sp?) of time and majora's mask are the one of the two greatest games for n64. no mercy was good too...........

The Atari Lynx was years ahead of the GameBoy - Both games and hardware wise - Still it lost due to bad marketing (or lack of same).... Best portable system ever - I mean - think 1989 - Color Display (4096), Mulitiplayer, 3D acceleration w. distortion graphics, reversible controls, 16Mhz CPU w. 4Mhz gpu and more features than you can point a stick at.... I really really hate Nintendo sometimes....

Don't forget it was the size and weight of 2 bricks. Oh and it had no killer apps like super mario world and Titris.

More like ½ a brick but otherwise you're correct.. But IMHO it still kicked 4r53.... Especially for 1989...

I downloaded a SNES emulator for the PS2, all the games worked. Except Mariokart and Starfox (Starwing, whatever it's called), my two favoritest games on the SNES. :grumpy:

Oh well, at least classic bomberman works with the PS2 multitap.

Playstation 2, then SNES, and PS1 a close second and third.

Other notables are the Nintendo 64, NES, and GBA SP. Oh and Gamecube is pretty decent, but to far down the list.

Thank god for emulation. I can play Sega Genesis, SNES, NES, GB and GBA (I own an SP so I don't play emulated games that are still on a fresh system, it's theft if you ask me).

I was able to sell my SNES and NES and play the Genesis that I never owned. Gotta love PC's and emulators.

i have played them all including the bootleg versions of some, but when it comes down to it i would have to say that SNES was the best by far. I was way more addicted to that than i ever will be over my PS2. Seriously i don't know how come PS2 got so many votes i mean its great but even now i am still addicted to my snes even got an emulator so i can play games that came out for it that i never had.
ahh the good days (mortal kombat, mortal kombat 2, mortal kombat 3, mortal kombat trilogy, all the street fighters, and all the beat 'em up games it had with the main character walking down the streets ... double dragon...) :)

anyway let me stop rambling

oh yeah how could i forget MARIO :D (even though i thought sonic on the genesis was better than him, but now he is definitely better)

Because this is a Gran Turismo forum and Gran Turismo is only exclusive to one console. *hmm I wonder which one*

Maybe we should've left the PS2 and PS1 (for the first 2 GT's) out of this poll for obvious reasons?

Playstation 2 - first to include useful standardized ports for controllers and other perifials. Unfortunately there are few games that use it ...

XBox - first to include a hard drive standard. makes quality use. also the first to include a network adaptor. makes excellent use of this as well. together they are amazing. unfortunately the majority of games suck.

If the USB ports on the PS2 had greater support it would be one hell of a system. Joysticks / yolks for flight sims, more games with light guns, dance pads, keyboard mouse combos, a plethora of things I can't even come up with ... the USB ports are the greatest thing the Playstation 2 has to offer, and the majority of its games don't even use it. So sad.

It's hard to decide. The X-box is a much better console than the PS2. It looks better, it has better graphics, it loads faster, it has a built in hard drive & better controllers. But what really makes it inferior to the PS2 is the lack of good games that are available. The PS2 definitely has the coolest games. Also the NES was the best console for its time, 1985.

I'd say the NES is my fav console of all time. It was my first taste of video games and I'll never forget playing Mario Bros and Duck hunt on Christmas morning. It came out with some of the best games of all time which gave me more satisfaction than games of today.

Voted snes, no way is the ps2 the best machine ever made.

go snes!

quick_nick, wrong. As are you loud music, well in a sense. Both the ps2 and xbox have loads and LOADS of sucky titles, but both also have gems.

I had to clarify in the Poll title that you mean "Consoles". I would say Atari 2600. Is was 1985 when we got ours. Top of the line! It's what started my journey. I would say that the Sony consoles have done the best with game strategies. What other console is backwards compatible with ALL their systems? Pretty cool...

~Peace
